Regarding the sets, I'm wondering how Lava Falls and Jungle Predators are going to come out. They sound the most interesting of the "hero" sets (after the Mechdragon I think we know a bit of what to expect out of the Titanium Dragon). Based on their price points, they look to be impulse sets. Might even be bagged sets...? Probably just some small landscape scenes with a minifig. I would assume Kai with Lava Falls and Lloyd with the Jungle set.

Agreed. Ultra Agents Wave 1 were definitely among the best sets of 2014. I hope that this theme gets more than 2 waves! I also agree that the car could be in the Stealth Patrol set. My original thought was that since the Agents got a car in the first wave, the villains would get a car this time around and that may yet happen. I could see it in the Stealth Patrol set as the villain vehicle being pursued by the ultra agent vehicle (whatever that might be). I could also see it as an Agent vehicle. A car that has a lot of pop out weapons or a transformation feature. But if this is the case, then what's in the Invisable set? Questions, questions!

@JasonEffex. I'm sure that Antimatter will get something decent. I'm guessing that since the largest set of the wave is vehicle centric (approx. 700 pieces based on $USD price) he will likely have something in the neighbourhood of a 200 piece build. The early intel is that the copter is quite large and I assume it is the larger build of the set. I can't see it taking up more than 500 pieces though. I see it being around the size of the ninja copter from last years wave of Ninjago but maybe more "squat" and not quite as long. But I digress. I think that Antimatter gets either some sort of air vehicle or perhaps a mech. It might be an interesting touch if Lego used the piece count to build 2 vehicles of similar size and piece count instead of a larger and smaller build. My reasoning for guessing the car was in the Invizable set was because the agents got the car set in the last wave. I figured it to be the villans getaway vehicle. But I guess we will know soon enough. As for new agents, I kind of doubt it. There are a lot already. And we seem to be getting all new villains this wave. I think we get the same agents with perhaps new uniforms. They are getting new armour pieces though according to the person who claims to have seen the sets.

Thanks for the $USD pricing Drock. Based on that and the info that Just2Good found on /toy/ I think I can piece together what vehicles are in which sets. Spyclops Infiltration: The "cyber-bike". Unknown whether the vehicle is a Ultra Agents vehicle or Spyclops' vehicle. I will guess Spyclops since the Wave 1 small set featured an Agents vehicle. Invizable Gold Getaway: I'm guessing the "bulked up version of the Agents car". Again, a villain vehicle since the Wave 1 car was Agents. Drillex Diamond Job: The "double drill tank". Villain Vehicle. Ultracopter: The "huge helicopter". Agent Vehicle. No idea what Agent Stealth Patrol could be other than a set that features an Agent Vehicle of some sort. I'm basing my assumptions on the poster stating that each vehicle was from a separate set. But perhaps the cycle and car are in the larger sets?

Hmmm....I guess I'm in the minority here, but I am not impressed that we are getting the snakes again...I didn't really much care for any of the sets in that entire wave...I'll reserve judgement until I see pics. However, on the brightside, it looks like there will be a lot of choice with 11 sets coming out and it looks like at least one set features a mech so I'm good!

This is great news! Can anyone provide an approximate exchange from NZD into USD from the prices listed on Brickfan? I'm very happy that they included what appears to be a small set in Spyclops Infiltration. I was fully expecting the second wave to be 4 sets with a small set absent. Can't wait to see some pics!

Hi CM4Sci. I would like to second LOTR343's comments. Could you ask him if he has any data on Ninjago 2015 and also if he has any info on possilbe Ultra Agents 2015? Thanks for the info, it is appreciated!

A second wave was strongly hinted at the end of the final stage in the App with the appearance of the "Hooded Mastermind" behind the villans. Given that the Winter Catalog focuses on new lines and new sets for holiday season, I find it unlikely that it would feature existing sets from the prior season. That would seem more likely in the summer catalog where existing lines get their summer waves (i.e. here are the existing sets and here are the new sets for summer). So, to me, the existence of Ultra Agents in the winter catalog means that this is Wave 2 of the first year sets (as opposed to a new line of the Ultra Agents theme). I don't see this theme getting more than 2 waves and releasing a second wave now tidies things up for new summer themes in the action category like licensed movie themes without crowding the shelves with too many similar themes. I guess we will know soon. The catalog is definitely out there so I'm sure someone will post something soon.

Hi Everyone. Fellow board member Hulk_Smash has posted some information in the Super Heroes and Star Wars forums about upcoming 2015 sets as Hulk has had the opportunity to see the 2015 retailer catalog. Yesterday, I sent Hulk a PM asking if he had seen any 2015 Ultra Agents sets in the catalog and if so, would he be able to share any details. I heard back from Hulk_Smash this morning and he confirmed that he did in fact see that there were Ultra Agents sets in the catalog, although he could not recall any details or the number of sets as he does not collect the theme and therefore did not pay it much attention. In his own words he skimmed past it on his way to the Star Wars and Super Hero sections. But given Hulk_Smash's comments, I think that this is the first indication (confirmation?) that we have that Ultra Agents is getting a second wave! I would like to thank and give full credit to Hulk_Smash for this information. Hopefully, we find out more info soon!

Based on the brief description of Ninjago 2015 given at SDCC, I don't think that it will be "Ninja's vs. Pirates". It hinted at the ninja's facing off against other people/creatures who also have elemental powers. Sounds like more of a "Superhero" vibe or perhaps even "Ninjas vs. Ninjas"?

Well, so far we have set lists for Bionicle, City, Star Wars and The Hobbit and we got packaging pics of the Hobbit sets...Given all that we could get a set list sooner rather than later as Ninjago is one of Lego's more popular lines. I'm thinking that the next set list leaks should be Marvel/DC, Friends and Ninjago. Having said that, at this point we are dependent on people who have seen/have in hand the retail catalog. It is up to them to choose to share the information. Or have an online retailer post a pre-order list (but I think that TLG is cracking down pretty hard on when stuff can be put online for pre-order).
-
@ TheLazyChicken: As Penkid11 mentioned above set details for Ninjago and other themes will appear sometime between now and mid-October. Early news (i.e. getting news now) depends on people who have access to or have seen the Lego retailer catalog. Also, sometimes online retailers will post the set names/prices for advance order before they are supposed to! At this point, all we can do is snoop around online and try to find some news or wait for someone to leak some info from the catalog. But unless Lego does something unusual, we should be getting around 7 sets based on past Winter wave releases.
-
Penkid11, I re-read that person's post and I see where you are coming from. When I read it, I interpreted it as "The set list will be released in August or September. I will be getting the list from my contact sometime soon. I do have confirmation that there will be 7 sets in the upcoming wave". You are right about the punctuation/spelling. I think he forgot to put a "t" on his "I" in the last sentence which would make it "I know it will have 7 sets". I am new here and I didn't realize that the Lego forums themselves were populated by younger posters (i.e. kids). I take that info (or at this time any info) with a grain of salt. However, it does make sense to me as there were 7 sets in the 2014 winter wave. Whatever we get in 2015 I do hope that we get more than 2 sets in the summer wave and at least 6 sets in the winter wave. I guess we will find out about the winter wave shortly.

I dunno Jared, to me the X-1 was "meh" - would have preferred a more "tank-like" vehicle over the sports car. But B.F.N.C. is a great set! As for the theme becoming lacklustre, I can see your point, but from a model perspective, this is a typical adventure theme with a mix of land/air vehicles, mechs, buildings/bases with the odd dragon thrown in for good measure! I don't see them departing from that going forward, but hopefully 2015 will bring some good models and perhaps some twists on what has already been done. For example, what about a small, brick-built dragon (say 70-100 pieces or so?). A poster on the lego bulletin boards has stated that he has information on the upcoming 2015 sets and the first thing he mentioned was that the 2015 winter wave has 7 sets. Here is the link to that thread https://community.lego.com/t5/NINJAGO/LEGO-ninjago-2015-set-list/m-p/10664719#M267791. I guess take with a grain of salt, but it does sound reasonable.

Given that Winter 2015 sets should start to hit shelves in North America within the next 90 days or so, the Lego retailer catalog should be making it's rounds as we speak. Which means some info on the new sets should be incoming soon (I hope!). Last year, I believe that Brick Fanatics posted that they had heard a rumor that future waves of Ninjago would include "Impulse Sets". Obviously that didn't happen this year, but maybe this is in play for 2015? Last year saw the Star Wars Micro Fighters and Chima Legends Beasts, so perhaps this is the year for the Ninjago line to get something similar? Hopefully those members that usually get access to the catalog can fill us in on some details soon!

Interesting. Although I enjoyed the "techno" look of the 2014 sets, I'm anxious to see what they have in store. The Lego rep's comments don't give us a lot to go on, but my hunch is that the "new villain" is the leader of a group of humans (rogue ninja's perhaps?) that also have elemental powers but have chosen to use them for evil purposes. This may give next year's sets more of a "superhero vibe" but still leave room for the usual assortment of vehicles, mechs, bases, etc. They have already used fire, earth, lightning and ice for the ninjas, so that could leave air and water as elements for the baddies, along with perhaps others like "darknes/shadow" or even the elements that the ninjas use. Set-wise, I would really like to see a continued focus on smaller (i.e. $30 and under) sets. I was really pleased that they released 2 $20 sets in Wave 1 of 2014. If they did a line of impulse bag sets (like the Friends pet line) at a price point under $10 for 45-60 pieces, that would be awesome! I imagine we will get set names and perhaps piece counts next month with the usual catalog leaks and online retailer premature set list posts.

Man, I hope that someone, somewhere took a photo of the X-1 Charger. I really want to see that one!! Hope someone finds a pic soon!!! The temple set looks good!!
-
Ok, the Temple set looks very good. The "Overlord's" tripod walker looks much bigger than I originally thought it was. Price point for the set may be a bit high for me and my son. Will have to wait and see. The X-1 looks like a definite buy. Muscle car that can transform (I can't wait to see how that happens.....) into some kind of base/tank/mech(?) thing with a detachable bike. Set looks to have a lot of play features at a decent price-point. Can anyone read the text in the bottom right corner? "Attack"....something...Base? Boat (which wouldn't really make any sense)? Beast? Also, what are those things on the back wheels of the muscle car? The back wheels look different than the front wheels.... Cant wait to see both models at the upcoming Toyfairs!

@Corydoras Thanks again for the information mate. Much appreciated. I'm guessing that you have ongoing access to the images and based on that I had a couple of additional questions if you don't mind? The Battle for Ninjago City Set: Thanks for the update on the included figures. But as for vehicles: are there any other vehicles in the set other than Zane's glider and the Overlord's tripod walker thingy? Ninja X-1: You mentioned the set comes with minifigs of Kai and 2 Nindroids. Is it just these 3 or is there any more? Also, you mentioned that the X-1 appears to have some sort of "transforming" feature. Are we talking about "flip-out" weapons, some kind of "Battle Mode" in addition to the sleeker, "Speed Racer" mode or a splitting function like the Thunder Raider/Mech set? Again, thank you for sharing the info that you have. All the best.
-
Ah....okay. My bad!! I thought that it was a bit of a departure from the winter wave sets design-wise. Thanks for the heads-up and information! I guess we will find out what both sets look like next week at the Nuremberg Toy Fair.

On the Brick Fan website yesterday, someone snuck a photo of the City display. In the background of that photo was what I believe to be the X-1 Charger. For anyone else that saved the image, it looks like it is shown as a poster on the wall in the background. It is similar to Corydoras' description of the set. It looks like a F1 car though. Narrow body, red colour (but may have white on the sides...hard to tell) large open wheels with gold rims and what looks like some kind of large black spoiler/engine/turbine/missile launcher on the back of it. Corydoras also mentions a Nindroid with a jetpack and there appears to be a very blurry shot of just such a thing above the vehicle. I'm totally unsure of this though, since there is no signage in that area for Ninjago. Anyone else seen this? Corydoras, does my description match/jive with what you saw? Sadly, the reports from London Toyfair have all paid little to no attention to this theme.....
-
Thanks Corydoras for the information on the upcoming sets. Did you see if there is a secondary model in the X-1 Charger set? In other words, do the nindroids chasing the red ninja vehicle have a vehicle of their own and if so, what is it? Are you able to recall any other details of the X-1 set? Also, were there any other sets or polybags in the summer 2014 prelims that you saw?
-
I was speculating that the Overlord model was not part of the Red Temple set (as had been suggested by another poster), rather that it was part of it's own different set given the color of the building in the photo (grey). I believe that the Overlord model (and accompanying building piece) were part of the Battle for Ninjago City set and that the Red Temple was something else altogether, say a retail exclusive (Toys R Us or Lego Retail Store). I say this because the Temple, in my opinion, does not go with the set name "Battle for Ninjago City". However, the Overlord figure, with the grey (urban) building, to me makes more sense that it is part of that set. I guess we will all find out soon enough. We should at least get set descriptions soon? I find it odd that most of the other lines have set descriptions but Ninjago does not....

I noticed some things about the "Overlord" model and have some theories/speculation on that and the summer 2014 sets in general. 1. This could be an "evolved" form of the Overborg/Cyrus Borg. In the cartoon, Cyrus looks to have been possessed by the Overlord and perhaps this model represents the final stage of his transformation? It does share similarities with the Overborg model insofar as they are both (apparently) quadruped mech chairs. 2. I believe that the Overlord model is not from the same set as the "Red Dragon Temple" model. The photo of the Overlord model (box art?) shows it standing beside what appears to be a gray structure on top of a grey base plate. That would not jive with the color scheme of the Temple set. 3. Since I think it is fairy safe to assume that the "Ninja X-1 Charger" set is a vehicle set, could the Overlord set in fact be another set that we don't yet know about? Perhaps this is in fact the "Battle for Ninjago City" set and the temple is something altogether different (another retailer exclusive perhaps?) I found the news of there only being 2 sets in the summer wave to be unusual as there usually seems to be at least 4 and also a smaller ($15-$25) set is missing from the listing altogether. Also, the website that first put out the announcement about the set lists has now taken the Ninjago ones down altogether while leaving all the others up. My son and I love the Ninjago sets and we hope that there is more in store for summer 2014 than what has already been announced.
