  1. Looks like some 2015 sets (City, Creator) have started to show up on shelves and online at Toys R Us in Canada. For the past couple of years, Ninjago sets have been released at retail (TRU and Lego Store) in Canada by late November to early December. So, if history is any indicator, the new sets should be out in North America soon (USA usually gets the sets around the same time. As for the R.O.W. I can't say though...
  2. Quick question on Onua: From what I could tell, his "combiner" form with his guardian just looks like the guardian's shoulder armor stacks on top of his shoulder armour and he holds the guardian's weapon is his other hand. Is that it? What about the stud shooter/gatling gun weapon? On the other 2 it looks like they make use of those shooters in the combined modes, but I don't see it on Onua's combined form anywhere....is it used in the combined mode? Any help would be appreciated!
  3. If you live in North America, I wouldn't worry too much about release dates posted on European websites. Those release dates are for Europe and may even be country specific within Europe. For the last couple of years, the Winter 2015 sets were on retailer shelves between late November to early-mid December depending on where in North America you are. I have no insider information whatsoever, but I think it is pretty much a given that these sets will be out in N.A. within the next month or so. Europe always gets stuff a bit later depending on the theme.
  4. I thought that I read someone's post saying that there was no 70751 set. If that's the case then there is something weird about the set numbering. Having said that, there is something weird bout the set numbering, because some small sets have higher numbers than the large sets. My guess is that 70751 is a retailer exclusive that has yet to be revealed. Still no set descriptions, but we should have them by mid-November worst case scenario since the winter wave is usually on retailer shelves by mid-late November.
  5. I'm surprised too. I've tried doing a little investigation online, but I can't find anything. Not sure if any other board members have access to the set descriptions and can share them? Also, I believe that we don't yet have an official pic of the Electro Mech. The board has been quiet for a few days now. Hopefully we get some news soon.
  6. I was suggesting that the rear/winged part of the vehicle would be able to detach from the front part as it looks like it is a small plane/flyer on its own and doesn't really (to me anyways) look coherent with the front part when combined as one vehicle. I.E. it looks like 2 vehicles combined as opposed to one vehicle. Those wheels/gears are actually above the fins, so not sure how they would function as wheels for the front part. But then again, that is a weird place to put gears for a spinning mechanism to make the front barrel rotate to fire the missles. That piece hanging down from the rear I don't think is a trigger since it doesn't look like it is connected to anything else. I have no idea at this point whether it can split or not. This set looks very interesting and I can't wait to see more details. Any idea as to when we will get detailed set descriptions with features/model sizes, etc.? I.E. official set descriptions from consumer catalogs/online retailer listings?
  7. @ Cagast: Looks like there is a round wheelish-looking piece at the bottom of the model near the lower fins. It looks too thick to be a gear, so I'm guessing it is a small wheel and that there is another one on the other side. I think it is more likely that if the model does have a split function that the front piece is an artillery unit. The lower fins become a brace/stand for the unit and the wheels used for positioning it as opposed to outright rolling it around. I could be wrong of course, but the model looks "weird" to be a single model. It reads to me as the combined form of 2 separate models. That and the rear part looks like something that is completely self-contained from the front of the model.
  8. Took another look at the Boulder Blaster set. It looks like the rear part of the vehicle can detach and become a small jet/flyer vehicle leaving the front part as some sort of ground vehicle or artillery unit. The overall vehicle doesn't quite look coherent to me and then I saw that it looks more like 2 individual vehicles combined into one. The front portion even looks to have wheels on it. I guess we will know for certain once we get pics of the back of the boxes and set descriptions from retailers. The splitting feature may also help explain why this 230ish piece set is priced at the $USD $29.99price point.
  9. I think the DBX may be "deceptively large" and in hand bigger than it appears on the box. Having said that, you have a point there. It does look a tad small for a 700 piece set. The transforming features look to be some kind of "tower/look-out" type structure mounted on the roof of the vehicle and several panels on (I assume) both sides that fold out revealing the inside of the base. Also, there are 2 mini vehicles - the motorcycle and the flyer. So....lets say 25 pieces for the mini figs, 100 pieces for the 2 small vehicles, 50-75 pieces for the snake base structure leaves around 500 pieces or so for the DBX. I think size-wise it may be about as big as the Galaxy Squad Vermin Vaporizer (Green Squad Wave 1 Vehicle). Same kind of idea and that set was smaller (7-8 inches long) but very squat/dense.
  10. I beg to differ, but if the main feature of the copter is "propellers spin in 2 different directions!" and the secondary features are the flick missles/stud launchers and "attach minifig to winch!" then this set is a huge disappointment and pretty much a pass. The design of the copter is nice enough and it is a good size (I believe the box said it is 18 inches total length), but unless it has at least another major feature, it is not great value for the money especially when there really isn't a secondary build to speak of. In what will be a $70-$85 set in N.A., the thing better have several good play features. I'm reserving final judgement until we get a detailed set description or video review though.
  11. The final set pics look really, really good. Spyclops minifig looks way better than the prelim - he's very creepy looking and does have the single-eye thing going in the middle of his head so they kept the Cyclops reference. Spyclops set looks amazing for a small set and there is a lot going on there for a set in that price range. The bike set looks like tremendous value for the price point. Lot's of elements and the bike's transforming feature looks very cool. This is more of a "playset" type of set. It reminds me of Overborg Attack from last year's Ninjago wave, but this set is better. Also: Invisible Pimp FTW. Drill tank looks interesting - I think that "thing" on the top/middle of the tank is some kind of detachable drone. Would have been nice for the agent to have something to fight the tank with though...Copter looks good, but for the pricepoint of that set, it better have a ton of features and from the pics all I can see are spring loaded shooters that can extend out from the body of the copter, stud shooters on the front and the now overdone "dangling rope/grapplinghook/winch thingy" on the side. I hope that once we get more details on the set features that my concerns about that copter are invalid! Anti-matter looks boss but I wish he had a more substantial build with which to fight the copter. The app bricks are likely the same as the lego fusion bricks. Nice for them to add those in as an extra feature to all the sets. Overall, I'm really pleased with these sets aside from some minor nit picks. Spyclops set and bike set are instant buys. Copter is a buy assuming it has a decent amount of features. Drillex is a maybe. Really looking forward to seeing the Agent 4X4 set as the prelim looked really good!
  12. Thanks just2good! Much appreciated!!
  13. Thanks just2good! Much appreciated! Looking forward to seeing the pics!
  14. Hi just2good! I see the Star Wars pics are up. In an earlier post in the thread you mentioned that today might be the day for the UA sets. Are you going to post them today? *Crosses Fingers*. Sorry to be a bother, but I really want to see those final set images!!
  15. Hi just2good. Hope you are feeling better. I see that you put up the Pirates sets pics today. So.......any chance that you can post the Ultra Agents sets pics today............pretty please?
  16. Hi just2good! Any chance you can post the picks before the weekend? Also were you able to get the pics for the Toxicita Set? We all can't wIt to see the pics! Look forward to seeing them shortly!
  17. If history is any indication, these sets should be out in North America by mid-late November. Europe sometime later... My thoughts on this wave. Overall, the sets look just okay to me. Not a huge fan of the jungle theme but my son will likely want a few of the sets as he is a big Ninjago fan! Personally I preferred the rebooted sets. Also, I'm not happy that all of the secondary builds in the larger sets seem to be either a catapult or a mini shrine.... Could they not come up with something else? Jungle Trap & Lava Falls: Fine for small impulse sets. Nothing more to say here. Electromech: Looks good. Appears to be slightly bigger than Coles mech from last year. Anacondrai Crusher: An improved version of the Overborg tank bike from last year. Hope it isn't as rickety. Not sure how old school flick missiles will work some they appear to shoot out of the mouth... Jungle Raider: Nothing special. Condrai Copter: Looks good. Looks like we are getting a yellow/orange ninja. Boulder Blaster: Interesting model with a very cool feature. Missile Gatling gun! Enter the Snake: Cool name but that's about it. Generi. Medium size temple set. Dragon: Hard to tell fully, but looks okay and may be better than the other smaller dragons. Mobile Base: Looks like a train...will have to wait for more pics/info. I am happy that we are getting 11 sets as it means that the heme is doing well. The colours for the enemy vehicles and bases is very drab. Guess we need to see if the final sets look different. Need to see reviews on these ones.
  18. Okay, had another look at the sets. Spyclops is wearing a harness that has 2 pincers/claws attached to it that mount over his shoulders. Not sure if that cannon/gun thing on the bottom of his mech has any kind of play function but it does seem to be shooting something at the agent. Stealth Bike looks to have some kind of play function but I'm not sure what it is. I thought a transformation feature, but the wheels look to be locked in place. There is a rack of what appear to be 4 flick fire missles on the bottom of the cycle. I think that the play feature is actually that the cockpit can detach from the bike and become a flyer with the missiles mounted on the bottom of the flyer. Drillex Agent looks to be wearing some kind of glider/jetpack that is using flag pieces as wings. Drill tank's entire interior looks to be composed of the mechanism to spin the drills mounted on the front of the tank. I think that rolling the tank forward on the treads spins the drills. Agent Patrol jeep has a spring shooter on the back with a grappling hook missile and rope. Wonder if Toxicita is a placeholder villan and we will get a new one in the final version of the set. Copter is tough to tell what the play features might be other than a bunch of stud shooters and spring missiles. For that level of set, there had better be several. Copter looks to be the same size as the Ninjacopter from last winters Ninjago wave, which begs the question: Where are the rest of the pieces being used? I think that the final retail set may contain a more substantial vehicle for Anti-Matter. It will be interesting to see how the final sets differ from these preliminaries. I like what I see so far, but I think that improvements can still be made. Am looking forward to getting set descriptions so that we can find out model sizes and features.
  19. Glad we have images. My thoughts: Spyclops: Not....what...I...was...expecting....The name threw me off as I wasn't expecting the spider motif. Still an interesting set with 3 stud shooters and a decent piece count for a small set. Spyclops' face looks like it had whiskers? Agents armour looks good and Spyclops' vehicle is a nice take on the mech/walker type vehicle. Stealth Bike: Nice looking set. Can't tell for sure, but it looks like the bike has some kind of gimmick. Invizable is definitely a riff on The Invisible Man. I think this set may outdo Tremor Track from the last wave at this price point. Drillex: Tank looks good. About the same size as the hover car from the last wave. I think it has some other gimmick besides the drills. Maybe something detaches from the body of the tank? Drillex looks cool. Like the drill gauntlets. The mission objective looks like a swordplay training dummy. Agent Patrol: Toxikita again? Groan. Enough already. The vehicle looks okay. Toxicita's mech looks okay. The robo-dog is interesting. Not sure about this. Need to see it in hand. May be a case of the total set adding up to more than the sum of its parts. Copter: Copter looks cool. Hope it has a lot of play features. Disappointed that Anti Matter doesn't get a bigger vehicle but his mini fig looks good. My one regret is that not one set comes with the rapid fire stud shooter from the Star Wars sets. If there is a theme that cries out for that surely this is the one! Interested to see how the power bricks work.
  20. legomilk's info has usually been accurate, but I'm really wondering about this. If we are talking about an April release for the entire line by North American standards that almost qualifies as a summer release which would make zero sense since the sets are in the winter catalog. If they are delaying just 70170, that makes even less sense. Unless we get some more details, I think that the April release date may apply to Europe only. With Galaxy Squad for example, the sets were out in N.A. in late 2012 and the entire line was delayed until summer 2013 in Europe. I also think that the April 2015 date applies to entire wave. If so, I feel bad for European fans of the theme....
  21. Thanks for the info legomilk. Much appreciated! Any other info that you could share with us? ;) Also, are you saying that there is no set #70751?
  22. Thanks for the info legomilk! Since you always seem to have the inside scoop on upcoming sets, are there any other details you can share with us? Also is the entire wave slated for an April release in Europe or just 70170? Since these sets are in the winter catalog, I would assume a late 2014 pre-Christmas release in North America with a European release sometime shortly thereafter?
  23. As I mentioned before, I don't think that this is the same Spyclops from the previous line of agents. The minifig torso with spider legs would be a bit too similar to Overborg from the 2014 Winter Ninjago wave. What I think it might be (given the designers love of shout-outs to older toy lines) is a character with a large visor or helmet with a single robotic eye inspired by......TriClops....from He-Man!! The Spyclops name may refer to said helmet/visor giving him enhanced vision that makes him some kind of superspy and a pure "rival agent" to the Ultra Agents.
  24. The Villan names they have given us so far, Spyclops, Invizable, Drillex and Anti Matter all sound male. My guess is that you got your token female villan in the last wave with Toxikita. However, that doesn't rule out the possibility of a female agent(s) in one or more of the sets (pretty much a given), female civilians or even a female "henchwoman" for one of the villans. I too am curious as to the look of the Drillex set. I haven't seen the Bane tank so I'm not sure how big that set is, but the Drillex set should have around 350-400 pieces give or take. The one "report" we have on the set details for this wave said that the tank has 2 drills. As for Spyclops, I'm guessing the are just re-using the name and not recycling the character altogether. If they did that, they would be producing a figure very similar to Overborg from Ninjago and I don't see Lego doing that. I guess it goes without saying at this point, but if anyone has seen the sets in the retail catalog and can provide some additional details that would be greatly appreciated! :)
  25. I could see that Ultracopter having dual rotors or even being something like an Osprey type plane. I envision it being more bulky/chunky and not streamlined/long/rounded like a regular helicopter. Nice mock-up though Hunter1! I like it! Last year, we got "leaked" photos and pre-mature set photo posts from retailers in mid-late September and we usually have official pics by early-mid October. Also people who have seen the catalog usually post detailed descriptions around this time, so we should get some more details soon!
