  1. Well I only started this year with LotR army building. I have about 36 Uruk-Hai and 12 Moria Goblins, all of my other villains are just the ones I got with buying each Middle-Earth set once. I will continue to get Uruks (and if possible Rohan soldiers to counter them) and Moria Goblins, as I feel that you can make a lot of MOC's with these because the factions are properly represented in LEGO. For that reason I'm hesitant to collect (although fairly cheap) Mordor Orcs. There's in my eyes nearly no MOC possible without the need to include Gondor soldiers/rangers. Without Gondor for me there will be no Mordor (in my MOC's).
  2. I now it is nearly impossible, but I would also like a larger Dale structure with as many factions as they can put in. But the need for new molds probably makes this a no-go.
  3. I added a new summary to the beginning of the text: Also, has anybody ideas for a great picture? If there are no suggestions, I'll probably use the one from my sig. Thanks!
  4. I regret not buying multiples of this set. The drop from the preliminary three to the final two Mordor Orcs putt me off, but the set wasn't that bad of an evil army builder in the end, especially considering the rare White Hand gear.
  5. Thanks for the support you all! When the petition is ready, feel free to contact every other site about either LEGO, LotR or LEGO LotR. We need to reach as many as possible indeed.
  6. Well sets like these (popular army builders, like Mirkwood Elf Army as well) usually don't get big discounts, at least not on amazon. Maybe this is because they sell well anyway, or because of the unusual high minifigure count. A decent price for these sets would be retail price. But you will need a lot of luck if you want to find some for that price nowadays...
  7. I started a new thread about the LEGO LotR petition, check it out if you want!

It is almost sure that LEGO The Lord of the Rings is over. To most of us the line feels incomplete with the lack of several important characters (like the Witch-King, Eowyn, Sauron and Faramir), factions (especially Gondor), buildings (mainly Minas Tirith) and creatures (like the Balrog, Treebeard and mountain trolls). Many of us feel that this theme needs just one wave to 'complete' the LEGO Lord of the Rings. Even only one set, which is preferably set in Gondor, could solve most of our problems. For example, you can make a Battle of the Pelennor Fields as big as you want (depicting several stages of the battle and the preceding events) with the Witch-King on fell beast, Éowyn, wounded Faramir, Gondor soldiers, a mountain troll, a piece of Minas Tirith, etc. To raise awareness I would like to start a petition to let LEGO know that we care. I know some of you think this will not matter, but maybe it will. If we get enough support maybe we can at least get an official statement from TLG that LEGO LotR is over and why. I am working on the format right now, but to make this a strong statement I could use your help. Thank you very much for your help.
  9. I'm on it! Check back tomorrow.
  10. ^ To me it doesn't look like it..
  11. I still really don't understand. If the waves were split, and they probably were, then there are two to three partly finished LOTR sets that weren't produced. This theory follows the assumption that there were originally two waves planned for each theme, each consisting of about 6 to 7 sets, like the first Hobbit and LOTR waves. I guess we can blame Peter Jackson too then. The decision to make three Hobbit movies has probably left us with less LOTR sets (but not that many more Hobbit sets)..
  12. They always stated from the beginning that, next to being promotional for the Hobbit movies, they would bring us LOTR because of the massive fan requests over the last decade. BUT HOW COULD THEY LEAVE GONDOR OUT OF IT THEN?!! The main faction of the third movie, yes the movie that has won 11 oscars and holds an all-time-record!! Why?
  13. There is no advertisement for a new LOTR wave in the instructions of the upcoming Hobbit sets (cf. Hobbit 2014 thread). I almost kicked my Tower of Orthanc to the ground to channel my frustrations (but luckily I didn't). I guess it is really over now...
  14. Argh, haven't thought about that, but you're right. This is really a shame
  15. Thanks Carlos! Any update on a possible advertising for a coming LOTR wave in the instructions, or is there noting to see? Again, thanks a lot!!
  16. ^ We can at least try, that's what I'm going to do. Not sure if it will help but we can do everything we can!
  17. Wow, this is really nice! Could you indeed please tell us something about a possible LOTR ad in the back of the instruction booklet?
  18. Well on Pricevortex (all amazon stores) it's over retail price in every currency.
  19. The same for me. I'm not sure what to do regarding collecting LEGO, because I'm really only interested in Middle-Earth at the moment. Locations can be MOCced, but minifigures and molded creatures not. I really hope we get one last wave to 'complete' the theme, with at least a new Gondor helmet and Witch-King helmet. I know most of us would still want more than one wave to cover things from the LOTR prologue and stuff like that but if we got the Witch-King and a Gondor soldier a lot of our problems would be solved in my opinion.
  20. Your Elven army looks amazing!
  21. This forum makes me incredibly sad. When do we start a riot? When there's no info in the catalog or no ad in the Hobbit instruction booklets? I'm ready to start a petition
  22. What if LEGO made the Middle-Earth sets Evergreen, but limited in capacity and focussed on AFOLs? Like only two sets a year, one Hobbit, one LOTR for example. Could that be possible? Would it be more profitable for them (or less space consuming for other, probably better selling, sets)? I would even be happy if they announced to do one Middel-Earth set a year. At least we have something then..
  23. As a fan you should know that Peter Jackson's Smaug doesn't have front legs. He is a wyvern type of dragon with only two legs and claws attached to his wings. I suggest you watch DOS again. I think they did an okay job with LEGO Smaug. I think that he couldn't be bigger and that a molded version is better as opposed to brick-built due to other creatures like wargs and eagles being molded as wel. The Ent is not molded but I think the rough structure of trees works better with bricks than a dragon would. I cannot wait to see how the foldable wings are like, very interesting!
