9471 Uruk-Hai Army x3 (one in a shop on holiday and two extra second hand, but still sealed) 9769 Gandalf Arrives (the only LOTR set I didn't have yet, from the same shop on holiday) 30215 Legolas Polybag (the only polybag I found in my country, Belgium, is alas Legolas. Still hoping to find Uruks or Lake Town guards somewhere) Bricklink order: 8 Uruks, 6 Moria Goblins, some gold pieces for a future Erebor MOC and some nicely colored tree leaves.

^What?! Where can you find the TOO with a 50% discount? I thought it was an exclusive to the official LEGO Store?! Nicely done, together with Bag End the best LEGO M-E set I've built, enjoy!

Thanks for the input guys!! I think I might pick it up tomorrow then The next question will be: open it up for the extra Uruks and bricks or try to make an investment out of it. A hard nut to crack indeed!

Yeah, I was thinking about buying Helms Deep for another time too. Because it was in the same shop as the UHA I just bought for like 120€ (retail is 150€ here). I'm still here on vacation until friday, but I don't know what to do. I would like to save my cash for the current Hobbit theme as I still don't have MEA and the big Dol Guldur set, because they'll probably disappear soon with the new sets coming. What to do, what to do...

^ When does that usually happen?

I just got very lucky on vacation!!! Found an UHA for retail price in a local shop, which is a very good deal nowadays. I'm so happy with it this is sadly just my third UHA set, but better three than two

Although impossible, it would be really nice if LEGO did a Kickstarter type of thing to make the third wave happen. I am absolutely sure they would reach their goal and we will have our third wave.. A pity this will never happen though.

Goblin King is worthless for display in my opinion, just a lot of little structures put together. I do like all the figures in the set. The Goblin King mold is very well done as are the Goblin figures (al lot of different printing on the torso and heads). If you are not into Bricklinking then you will have to buy this set to complete your company of dwarves. I don't have the DGB set yet, so I can't comment, but it seems like it's more or less just a big grey wall with cool minifigures. What do you mean by slow exactly? I'm new to Bricklink and I'm figuring out how much money to spend at a time. I mean, is there sort of a 'Golden Rule' where you don't buy a figure if the pricing is above average, or that you just add two or four Uruks to every usual (i.e. just bricks for example) Bricklink order instead of 20 figures at a time? I'm struggling with the fact that I'm paying 20€ for just 4 figures and I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to try to 'even it out' by also buying cheap bricks (that I need) to get the brick/euro ratio up or not. How do you guys build LOTR armies via Bricklink? Do you have 'Golden Rules' or things to look out for?

And I just put a new request on their Facebook :) feel free to like!

I really like that one! Reminds me that I'll have to invest more in Moria Goblins. Those guys are just too awesome!

Aside from all the minifigures mentioned I would also like to highlight the different beasts we didn't got (in no particular order): Fellbeast: the winged creatures that ringwraiths use as mount must be one of the more recognizable beasts of Middle-Earth and are just too cool to not have. I would be very happy with a black/grey Smaug mold with another head and tail. Proportions don't matter to me in this case, because the Fellbeasts and Smaug will be never together in one scene. Mûmakil: although I would be content with a brick-built Oliphaunt, I would like to see one like the LOTR game: a molded beast with a brick construction on it for Haradrim to sit on. I understand that it would be a lot smaller then the game version. Balrog: this is a MUST HAVE. Seriously, everybody knows the Balrog. They already designed him for the video game, it's brick built. The Balrog is just too awesome. That plus the fact that he could come in a set with properly armored Moria Goblins (with spiky helmet) and a cool battle damaged Gandalf. Treebeard: This is not so difficult to do for TLC as we already have an Ent, which makes it also quite easy for us to MOC so maybe not as important as the other beasts. Still cool enough to make a set out of it. Shadowfax: Gandalf needs his horse, I'm not sure if we have a white variation of the moveable horse. If we have this becomes a little more redundant. Beorn bear form: He plays a most crucial role in the BOTFA. I'm not content with the city bear. Orcs eat that bear for breakfast. We need a fierce bear mold, or at least new prints on the existing bear. Armored Mordor troll: These guys are AWESOME. We already got two troll-like creatures (Moria cave troll, Goblin King) and they are done just perfectly. The molds are really really great, but alas not modable into an armored version. I would buy tons of armored trolls like the video game! Great siege beasts: The creatures who pull Grond, the big ram that shatters the gate of Minas Tirith. Would be cool if included in a Grond set, but I'd rather have armored trolls push it to have more trolls :) The Watcher in the Water: not as necessary as a lot of the other beasts, but very iconic and could come with the beautiful gates and trees of Moria. Would probably be brick built. I think that's about it. What beast would you like to see in LEGO form? Molded or brick-built?

I don't think it's very likely that a LEGO LOTR Ideas set will be approved by TLC. It's just weird because they already have/had their own LOTR theme. Did a Star Wars project ever got approved on LEGO Ideas? That being said I will still support every Middle-Earth set I come across.

^ When do we know if there is a store exclusive? Weren't there any leaks of the orc forge beforehand? I can remember that they orginally planned to have one more minifig in that set before it came out. Isn't it a bit too optimistic to hope for a store exclusive? Wouldn't we've heard something about it by now?

^ I found your Gondor-post and liked it. I will try and post some LEGO LOTR requests now and then. I agree that the only thing we can do is to spam LEGO with our wishes.

Wow, this is great, what a superb build! I love the minifigures too, nice little variation in Thranduil's guards :)

When you say to post stuff on their Facebook page, you just post something on their wall that probably gets deleted immediately, or..?

Where do you get the LEGO LOTR Uruk-Hai Army for a decent price nowadays? It's still on amazon for about 50€ and I've thought about just buying the figs on Bricklink, as that is the main reason for me to buy UHA, but I'm not sure if it's more profitable. Average Bricklink prices: Eomer (9€), Rohan Soldier (11,6€) Armored Uruk-Hai (6,3€) x 2, Uruk-Hai with helmet (5,2€), Uruk-Hai (4,6€), horse (2,6€). The total of all figures is 46,5 €. I suppose it's best to order the whole set then, no? Even though it is a lot more expensive than back in 2012... How do you guys build a Rohan-Uruk army nowadays?

^ wait, what? It shouldn't be the end. I still believe they split the waves and there is some material ready to be produced (if they would want to) that's why they didn't go all out on the second wave, the third needed to be a blast (with Gondor, Witch-King, Eowyn, Balrog and big Minas Tirith) Please?

Just a little question: what good does it do to LEGO to keep us in the dark about the future of the LotR and Hobbit themes? Would it result in bad sales if they told us nothing more is coming? Because if I would knew that Middle-Earth is done for, I would buy every current LotR and Hobbit set I can! If they would tell me there's more to come, I would maybe leave some money for the upcoming sets. Is this a good sign? How do you guys think official statements would affect sales?

This! I especially like the blue light brick. Armored moria goblins and new orc prints are almost as needed as Gondor and the Witch-King in my opinion.
