  1. Welcome to Eurobricks @RickyWasAYoungBoy. Looking forward to the actual LEGO bricks version!
  2. I'll keep that in mind for next time and just directly use my credit card. They were fast with shipping the motor and the promotions though I just received them this morning.
  3. Fortunately we have our virtual building tools :) Maybe you could participate in LugBulk of some local LUG and make them get those parts in bulk, prices there are often (much more) affordable.
  4. Yups, patience... but now I'm a bit jealous of my wife with here summer vacation Lamborghini Sian build ;) Well I don't know, many more I assume, probably the US has a different stock than the EU though. Stange that they limited it to two per person, should have been 1 of course. That was also my idea, buy one now and buy an extra one in autumn.
  5. I waited till 12 o'clock, then PayPal failed for some reason so I needed to wait for the order to get approved, estimates are now September 15... Next time TLG complains about train sets not selling...
  6. Great job @SteamSewnEmpire, they look great, will you also build them in real bricks?
  7. In fact the second Modular designed by an AFOL (Eric Brok): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lego_Modular_Buildings.
  8. The book store is way too new too be phased out already. It happens to many more sets, they will come back in store after some time.
  9. I don't know where you got the idea that "train-automation was more or less dying"? Microcontrollers are really booming, at least for me... ;) but I teach embedded systems engineering so maybe not a typical observant... But in the industry they also become more and more important, IoT, IIoT, Industry 4.0, all made possible by cheap and fast microcontrollers.
  10. There was also a quite large LEGO World City tow truck that had Light and Sound and this micro motor: Set 6484
  11. Nice job! @AlmightyArjen it really looks a lot like your setup! If I have time in a week or so I will share some of my ideas including a Attiny1616 for (Dutch style) railroad signals. @ciphernaut of course MQTT and Node-Red would be perfect. Although I don't like most of the plugins on there so it will require some rewriting. Maybe we should start writing our own nodes?!
  12. What kind of batteries do you use? Most rechargeable batteries are 0.3V less than alkalines (1.5V vs 1.2V) so that is 1.8V less for 6 batteries and you would notice that in motor power. Maybe that is not it but it might be something.
  13. Well you need 10+ posts for that, I'll PM him with your topic ok?
  14. Welcome @Darth Fandom, hope you will have a good time here. Probably someone knows more about it, I would first go for @LEGO Historian.
  15. Very nice, wouldn't it be more realistic if the driver stand would be a little more rounded? Although it already looks quite like the original like this:
  16. She looks both cute and ferocious. Ms. Grillmaster 2020?
  17. I have not I don't have the faintest idea as well ;)
  18. Aliexpress, where else :)
  19. I discontinued 12V (still have some 12V trains but the accessories not anymore) but I still have quite some 9V and PF stuff, but I prefer PU since it is more flexible also if you remote control it (using e.g. a Raspberry Pi).
  20. Or maybe this thing with a flower: Plate round 1x1 with handle?
  21. Well and others seem to have issues with it getting to work again: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3940&p=12297&hilit=resize&sid=9be3bd9507b0d667568aa63d2696827c#p12296 I fixed it though: removed Stud.io and reinstalled it,
  22. I just upgraded, that caused an interesting issue: the bricks palette now takes up the whole screen and I can't seem to resize it. I use macOS.
  23. The 12V era was indeed a golden age, but I only got two trains (7740 and 7710) and some cars (the yellow crane and the catenary car), two automated signals, an automated level crossing and one signal, later when LEGO moved from 12V to 9V I was able to buy an extra signal etc, but as I still was young I was quite limited in what I could spend on it.
  24. True: they are according to HABricks "Prussian Express Coaches".
  25. If I would go for it I would use a PU motor so that would even work without glue I think/hope. Those clips in the 12V era were nice but flew often around our ears as I can remember when I was a kid.
