  1. Simple but elegant :) Really nice LEGO Train 12 Volts.
  2. Too late :) Instantly recognizable as Fabuland indeed.
  3. Saw this in the news, hope you like it :) Some Dutch 'kids' (actually in their twenties) decided to make a snow man 'minifigure': This gigantic LEGO snowman proves that the big snowfall also brings out the creativity in humans. Kylian (23) and his sister Debby (21) Schiks started building two days ago and now have this beautiful structure in their backyard in Berghem. Kylian was off for a few days and saw the backyard as a large blank canvas that could still be used. He started building together with his sister. They didn't have a design and that it would eventually become a LEGO doll, only became clear when they were working. “The snow is quite dry and difficult to model because it doesn't stick well,” says Kylian. “I added a bucket of tap water to each layer so that it does stick. We started with straight lines, suddenly we saw legs in them and then it became a LEGO doll. ” No curfew in the backyard Kylian and Debby aren't really LEGO fans. “I have played with it once, but we mainly wanted it to be very big. That was the challenge.” The rectangular doll eventually became 3.15 meters high and 2.15 meters wide. Kylian and his sister have been working on it for two days. "I must also say that the curfew does not apply in the backyard so we put a construction lamp on it and continued in the evenings." And whether it tastes like more? “Well, I have to work now and it will probably thaw again on Monday, but I hope to be able to skate this weekend!”. 4. My block is package that you put the code in that you created. It is like a function in normal programming. Does that help?
  5. What kind of trains do you normally have? They are quite long for 6-wide trains aren't they? (I already said that at 1000steine :)). Nevertheless very nice brick-builds!
  6. Great review! Seems to be a very high quality product. Looking forward to more :)
  7. LEGO really helped out with that particular order. They said that they switched to DPD because of previous experiences like mine with some other company (I guess DHL, there are great videos on Youtube on how DHL created a special warehouse just for LEGO). I have had less issues with DHL (only VAT issues with items from China where they overcharged), but indeed it might differ from area to area and in the end I think the people on the delivery trucks are the weakest link: they might be great and very consumer-oriented, or they might be lazy and try to get rid of ones parcel like 'paper boy' in the old game :)
  8. Very nice dutchmadebricks!
  9. DPD is horrible, last order was dropped at neighbors without any notice: they insisted it was delivered here. Fortunately I have honest neighbors so they brought it to us...
  10. Well, it would be best to use vector-based images instead of pixel-based images. Illustrator or Inkscape are much, much, much better than Word / Paint / Google Docs. Paint is an amateur tool, Word is a horrible tool but for some strange reason (probably because it comes with most computers) really bad for any lay outing work. and Google docs is a nice tool, but for making documents, not for graphics.
  11. Hope by then we have the freedom to come. It is in my summer vacation so I would like to try it.
  12. Mr. Xiāngcháng aka mr. BBQ, had a dream... Actually he has had this dream for quite a while now. It started quite some time ago, but last year it really hit of when he could open a little barbecue kiosk for the Lunar New Year / Spring festival 2020. Here you see how Mr. Xiāngcháng opened up his little BBQ and Grill place. Opening up a business in these times is harsh. Unless you sell food... Major Christiansen made an exempt of the lock-down measures regarding minifigs food services. This exempt actually inspired Xiāngcháng, as he spotted an Ice-cream, overpriced coffee and all other kinds of bike vendors both before and during curfew. Minifigs need to drink lot's of overpriced coffee you know, to avoid them from falling asleep in front of their Teams/Zoom/Skype/whatever virtual meetings. That is when it dawned on him to get himself some clones (no, no clone brands, actual LEGO clones of course) and also some delivery bikes: everyone wants noodles with Hoisin sauce, spicy soup, fortune cookies and other Cantonese delicacies. And he could deliver them just at people's doorsteps. Here you see Mr. Xiāngcháng with his clones and brand new bike MODs. But with those bikes he could deliver much more! That is why he asked for cousin Wonton to step in. He is a trained Narezushi chef and was even born in Mekong area. Even though most minifigs call it sushi, Wonton's mouthwatering rice rolls became a hit as well. Cousin Wonton next to Mr. Xiāngcháng. Like real entrepeneurs, Xiāngcháng and Wonton realized that maybe later, or hopefully sooner, COVID-19 would eventually pass. And then people wanted to go to restaurants again as well. That is why they bought a nice 32x32 stud piece of baseplate (a steal, already coming with some pavement tiles) and promises of new road plates with bike lanes. Now all they needed is a permit to build and open a restaurant at that grayed, uh I mean great 32x32 baseplate. That is why they went to the gentleman at Town hall. But mr. Bureauc(r)at looked somewhat worried: "That wasteland attracts too many critters for a restaurant to open next-door". Fortunately major Christiansen assured them that that was going to change very soon: a nice park would be speed-built by some AFOLs in no-time, and after that they would get their building permit for a nice modular Chinese restaurant. That is why Mr. Xiāngcháng and Wonton submitted their building plans anyways. This it what the building will look like from the side. And from the front, although Mr. Xiāngcháng and Wonton have plans to use the nice clear transparant decorated window bricks. Even essential parts were ordered through Lugbulk and Bricklink shops around the world. The gentlemen want to integrate their building with the promised next-door park. The backdoor will in fact be the front door for visitors entering through the park: That is why Xiāngcháng and Wonton hoped the municipal landscapers to start ASAP. But even though Xiāngcháng and Wonton ordered their nice neighboring park Spring Lantern Festival set 80107 in the early hours of January 2021, and even though major Christiansen promised it would be ready to be shipped very soons, week after week passed since then. Xiāngcháng and Wonton still hope to get it before Spring festival, but their chances are slim. Only then will they be able to start building their own dream that should connect with only two pins right to that beautiful park with Koi in the pond, and and entry to their restaurant. Now the only thing they can hope for, is major Christiansen increasing his production lines of the precious acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene, polycarbonate and maybe some polyethylene parts and ship that 80107 soon. It will be a while for the entire restaurant will be realized (as Bricklink estimates are € 750+ and I first need to find as many parts as possible that I already own). Hope you like my initial attempts though. For now some more plans: The group floor features a spacious kitchen and some seats (quite far apart, in accordance with COVID-regulations). Of course there is also an aquarium with gold fish. It features some more seating, entrance to the balcony and a closet with access to the upper storage room. The storage can hold crates, sacks of rice, but could also be used as a perfect hideout for fireworks. That leaves mr. Xiāngcháng and Wonton with the wish that 80107 will still be delivered in time for the 2021 Spring Festival so they can at least enjoy and forget some of the COVID-troubles for now and start construction of their dream restaurant ASAP. Hope mr. Christiansen did not forget them... To be continued.
  13. Great part indeed, I saw it in a LUGBULK list already.
  14. I didn't realize that :) glad to hear!
  15. Hi arjanren, welcome to Eurobricks. LDD was abandoned by LEGO. It is better to move to Studio (BrickLink). It was bought by LEGO so that is where LEGO is moving right now as well.
  16. You might get away with it by using interrupts. They are not threads but help you to make 'almost' sequential code.
  17. A crank to turn the mill towards (or away) from wind direction. These mills were used to 'keep dry feet' in lower places, so they are essentially wind-powered waterpumps.
  18. Great to have you here @admiral_typhoon. Hope you will enjoy!
  19. Really nice MOC @Exe Sandbox. Nice details. Enough ideas to inspire others including me :)
  20. Well it essentially is, they are all almost the same. I should have brought the Mindstorms hub back from school (we went in lock-down today), to open it, but I can guarantee you it is some kind of Texas Instruments microcontroller with BLE like all the others, including the Duplo train and remote controller.
  21. Well, you made the topic about "LEGO Trains 2021", so please also keep it hat way. There is obviously a thin line between clones and 'additions'. But the people that are shamelessly cloning TLG molds and just put some other color granulate in are not what we want here. We are a TLG-recognized fan site, so we like to keep it that way. Apart from that, please stay on topic :)
  22. 1000steine has a review of the new street plates: https://www.1000steine.de/de/gemeinschaft/forum/?entry=1&id=446639#id446639
  23. I can have a look for you, but I think you forgot about the rules (the topic is from 2013). So a PM would have been a better alternative.
  24. Welcome, enjoy your stay!
  25. I must say, I really like a lot of Duplo sets, see e.g. the train related sets available for Duplo, I just got the rail bridge and the points, barriers, crossing, but the latter seems to be lost by the postman. Actually the Duplo train is the most advanced train base of all (light sensor, sensor that detects when the train is pushed / bumps, headlights, speaker (and BLE)).
