  1. hmm those are my suppliers as well! guess we will need to wait for more stock!
  2. Of course with a decoupler it would be very useful indeed! Yups the RMD360 is a nice module. I most of the time use mifare tags (because I use them in education as well). I don't know why you experience such a latency. You are just trying to read the ID and no other data?! The ME Model rails might also be good for a decoupler b.t.w. I haven't tried it yet, but that way you can build between the tracks without having to worry about the sleepers. I made a concept that seems to work well when dry testing: it pulls the buffers + magnets apart.
  3. A very nice project! That must have costed you a small fortune! I like your approach, first LDD / Ldraw than building, that is what I also do for such a projects. Just like other engineering tasks, plan first then realize.
  4. He is a tech, so likely he applied some juice to it (read: more than he should have ;)).
  5. Now you only need New Holland stickers ;) I like it a lot. Should become an official LEGO set (cuusoo?!)! Details in your model are especially very nice indeed!
  6. Of course it is possible. Only thing is that it is difficult to get it done with LEGO. I have some uC controlled LEGO trains. I tried it with DCC and 9V trains but the problem is you need to make such an adjustments to the motor that it will likely have an effect on performance. With PF this is much easier of course. I don't see the need to identify cars however, the loc would be fine I think. B.t.w. a tip: now and then ME Models track might be better if one needs to put electronics between the tracks without modifying the LEGO.
  7. Willies site: http://www.holly-wood.it/ldraw/authored-en.html But of course also the LDraw site: http://wiki.ldraw.org/index.php?title=Main_Page
  8. Well, since you are a tech you could guess it couldn't you? Low drop, at least 9V I would suggest.
  9. So what is the response time of the RFID chips? I found out that the motors produce quite a strong magnetic field (enough to detect a train at high speed using a reed sensor) so it might be better to not put the tag under the motor (to prevent interference). B.t.w. why an attiny? I think an atmega would be better, I am still struggling to get my signals done with attinies. Update: Ah I understand, you use dedicated uC's that makes sense then for costs and size to use attinies.
  10. Well, then you just use the search function for "points", are you sure you have the most recent version?! At least I have verified that both 75541 and 75542 are in version 4.2.5.
  11. Too bad we can create colors with LDD that don't exist :) The small trees exist in white, but they are expensive!
  12. I also think PC is more stress durable than ABS but I don't know that for sure...
  13. V-LV-50D I thought it would be nice to try to already create the truck from 10229 in LEGO Digital Designer... Probably still some differences from the real model (at least the driver), but hope you like it anyway ;) Link with zip that has the LXF file (without the snow scenery).
  14. my solution only switches the rail switch part, no modifications needed for normal switches (just for the cross switch).
  15. Well, depending on what kind of tracks... If you use extended mode: see the large PF motor tab for 9V track. If you enter rail in the upper box, you get quite some relevant parts. So the straight 12V rail (the one also in the mining set and quite some other sets) is in the tab with the steering wheel icon, flex and PF tracks are also there plus 4-wide tracks from e.g. Indy. In general: I just finished part of a transfer table / bride for my LEGOWorld 2012 Zwolle project with the 4204 set incorporated in it.
  16. Looks very nice indeed!!! Like it a lot! Both the robot and the car.
  17. I casted my vote on Cuusoo! Like the idea very much, but like I said at Flickr, maybe you could incorporate some special colors, or would that make it less likely for LEGO to indeed produce the set?!
  18. Very nice indeed. A great Dutch atmosphere also, nice details! That costed a lot of work!!! Will you be showing it at LEGOWorld 2012?!
  19. I have been an LDraw user for years, that worked well, but still LDD is easier than e.g. Bricksmith. But since LDD generates HTML files, it is quite easy to make instructions from it in a DTP tool.
  20. thanks, study too much so I don't read the topics in detail these days (weak excuse of course) ;)
  21. Our German friends found this: http://www.1000steine.de/de/gemeinschaft/forum/?entry=1&id=9875#id9875 Direct YouTube link: Enjoy!
  22. Only way is to get it yourself when traveling by plane ;) And you bought it as a gift for your son of course!
  23. And that is a fine one! All entries are nice, but ACPin did a great job so I indeed changed my votes ;)

  25. With my NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB I can't seem to use Outlines on bricks and Advanced shading (the graphics card has 5.0 shading so...). (Using Mac b.t.w.)
