  1. In that I claim there's only 'x' number of solutions and then another and another get brought to my attention (as you demonstrated with drakmin's).
  2. Damn! you're as slippery as a snake
  3. I knew I shouldn't have typed that last bit . That is indeed an interesting wing design. But still, apart from these four styles of T-47 MOC, what have the Romans ever done for us Fallenangel?
  4. Oh I'm sure. Joking aside, these are the three references siseon states. Between the three, only Brickdoctor's goes for a radically different approach. I'd say anyone would be hard-pressed to create a T-47 that doesn't bear a resemblance OR 'borrow' ideas from these three builders. I would love to be proved wrong (soon, not just yet ) . EDIT: siseon - Is that a picture of you in your avatar?
  5. Isn't there a gap on one side where the vacuum tube that sucks up droids comes down? I do hope you are including this feature - it's a very important part of my childhood . I'm really enjoying watching your progress, there's something strangely fascinating about a Sandcrawler. It's even more exciting now that there's two on the go, I think it's about time we saw more pics from Cavegod .
  6. There's a picture of it here in the UK Sales topic - it's not the greatest shot but gives you an idea of what it's like.
  7. The box art coincides with the 3D release of TMP in 2012. 2013 will probably see the 3D release of ATOC (depending on the success of TPM), when we will no-doubt see new box graphics representing Episode II. Although I hate to use the term in relation to Darth Maul, he is probably the most 'iconic' character in Episode I therefore he gets the mug-shot.
  8. I've only just read that the 3D movies are being released annually . In which case, I have to agree - Maul makes sense. But now that poses the question...
  9. I have to agree with Silverface here. IMO Maul is merely a rent-a-baddie thrown in for the Jedi's money-shot at the end of TPM. He may well be the first Sith the Jedi have encountered in millennia, it doesn't change the fact that Star Wars is about Anakin Skywalker's fall from grace . I don't really see Maul as being iconic enough for box-art but ultimately I'm more concerned about what's in the box than what's on the front.
  10. This is a great move and hopefully they will use more standardised sizes for similarly sized sets across themes - at the moment there seems to be all kinds of random sizes and thickness'. I suppose it's possible that this could cause a small drop in sales with customers going for seemingly larger options from competitors, but with potential production savings and the environmental implications I don't think it will be long before other toy manufacturers follow suit.
  11. Agreed. Plus there's only so much originality you can put into an MOC when basing on an actual vehicle. These are really nice - just looking at them makes me want to have a go myself.
  12. I know that the magnet figs are produced separately in China but isn't there usually some correlation between the magnet figs and minifigs available in sets? eg. Han, Paploo, Scout Trooper - 8038, and C-3PO, Leia, Admiral 'Ackmar' - 8092, 10198 & 7754 all had a cross-over period in availability, I'm sure there's others too. Maybe there's plenty that prove otherwise - I haven't been long enough out of my dark-age to know different. The Tie-Pilot just seems very random though - I never trust things that seem random - maybe I'm paranoid. EDIT: Those figs don't look too good once they've come off the magnet .
  13. So does this mean that TLG is getting rid of old Tie Pilot stock or have they started a new production run just for a magnet set?
  14. Nice Tantive IV there hga09 - particularly impressive that you chose to 'build' it using the limited Design By Me palette, but then to throw in a bonus 'Universal' version too... Are you planning to build this in the brick?
  15. Humour is not just about puns, groaners, cheesey gags or even shi**y boobs, it's also about making a point, a bit of 'social commentary' you might say. Consider the Stormtroopers, stripped of their humanity, hidden beneath shoddy armour, their names replaced by numbers. George Lucas uses these faceless hordes as cannon fodder for our hapless heroes, they are gunned down without thought or remorse. In reality each of these troops would have their own back-story, their own lives, don't forget Luke Skywalker wanted to leave Tatooine for the Imperial Academy, he could have been a Stormtrooper! With this in mind I present my comment on how Star Wars and more to the point the OT has been complicit in our desensitisation of on-screen violence. (I would suggest anyone with a sensitive nature doesn't look).
