I won two eBay items today with the hope to increase my brick collection for MOC-ing; "1 kg Small Bricks & Parts Various Colours Star Wars & Indian Jones Mix' @ £16.03 incl postage plus '600 mixed bricks mainly from Star Wars' @ £8.89 incl. postage. Both had lots of good SW colours; bleys, browns, a bit of dark red some foliage etc. I always like to get a good deal when I buy Lego but have to admit I have no idea whether that's the case here. What do you guys think did I do well or did I overpay?

I can't recall seeing this in the 'Neo' Clone Wars (but from Darth Nihilus' comments it must have appeared) but I do remember it from the original Clone Wars cartoon which imho was far superior. As DFOL mentioned, it would be more accurate with semi-circular sails but that would only be possible if you were willing to make custom items. It's still commendable that you built this with genuine Lego parts and the fact that it folds up is brilliant. It's surprising that when they produce such obscure craft as the 'Sith Nightspeeder', Lego haven't released one of these, and they couldn't go far wrong by basing it on your design. Nice one

Even though my name came up on Day 3 I still like to check the advent calendar as often as I can to look at all the winning entries. What a fantastic photograph by Walt.

[LDD MOCs] Brickdoctor's 2011 Star Wars Advent Calendar
Praiter Yed replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've enjoyed looking through all these so far and I like the miniland style figures because of their simplistic blocky Lego style . Admittedly the Battledroid and Astromech may not be the best of the bunch but it's nice to see you (makes a sweeping general statement that could be wrong) working 'outside your comfort zone. Another good is that there's been a lot of surprises (essential for an advent calendar) - I really didn't expect your Snow Speeder to look that way - I expected it to have less studs, but I love the way you've done it. I'm quite looking forward to today's, somehow I can't imagine you building a weapons rack. I'm guessing brick-built lightsabre or blaster? -
Thanks MOODSWIM. I'd forgotten that (aside from the odd competition entry) this was the first time I'd posted a MOC here - ah the memories. Thanks Masked. It may have little screen time but imagine if these vehicles hadn't been around to transport pilots, droids, torpedos etc to their X-Wing/Y-Wings. The end of ANH could have been very much darker and the Empire would have had no reason to 'strike back'. There have been many rather nice MOCs of this vehicle prior to mine, notable ones being by Baronsat and HJR

1 point 5) Cat Burglar (Build by Darkblane) 1 point 11) Croc’s sewer (Build by Skrytsson) 1 point 16) Access to Batcave via Batpoles (Build by GV357) So many great entries! It was very difficult just to pick 3. -
Thanks Guys. I thought the bump may be a bit tenuous, so glad you approve Cheers. Thanks Hollander. My dream is to build a full minifig scale Massassi temple complete with Hanger, War Room, Briefing Room, Throne Room and all the vehicles etc. I've come to realise that this may be a little ambitious and either a) lack of bricks*, b) the coming of a second dark-age or c) death from old age, may prevent me from fulfilling my dream. You can however, expect to see some Yavin IV vignette and/or dioramas from me at some point in the future. *If I combine my Lego collection with enough mashed potato I'll have the raw materials to build this.

With six months since my last Star Wars MOC I had high hopes for this Christmas Bump, I had intended a brick built vignette of the whole 'Santa Porkins' scene (the main reason for making my Porkins custom figure) but alas, a self imposed (read 'the wife') limit on my BL spending has made this impossible (maybe next year eh ). I think I may still legitimately bump this festive topic though with the following alterations/additions; I finalised my Personnel Carrier with the missing 1x8 tiles and with more tan coloured cheese becoming readily available was also able to build a second repulsorlift craft (both grey and tan versions can be spotted on Yavin IV)... But what I am most happy about is that on one of my rare BL orders I was able to snag some of these htf white visors to 'smooth out' the rebel helmet...

I know you say the sail design is just a temporary fill-in for LDD but that really is something to behold! In fact, the whole think is excellent - I want one of these

I remember this cartoon from when I was a kid, I also remember only watching a couple of episodes before I decided it was shit - maybe 1,000's of kids thought like I did and that's why they didn't release the toy! So, George Lucas' limitations were apparent all those years ago eh - I should have known better than to get excited about the PT There seems to be a few differences between the cartoon image and the toy design and your creation sits somewhere between the two. My preference would be to see something based solely on the cartoon design (this in theory being the original) but that's not to detract in anyway from your MOC which I think is very well done

[LDD MOCs] Brickdoctor's 2011 Star Wars Advent Calendar
Praiter Yed replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The X-Wing is sweet but I have to agree the Imperial shuttle is the best so far - lovely "", "awsome", "spot on", "What reference did you use" - It must be good because I don't think I've ever read comments like this from fallenangel -

Where's his hammer, spanner and barrel? Still, nice Bowcaster -
The first thing I thought when I saw this was whether it was to the correct dimensions or not. I couldn't remember what the dimensions were though, which makes me think - is it really that important? Does it have cosmic significance in the world of Lego? This MOC is clearly recognisable as a monolith and given the odd dimensions of a minifig would it not look a little on the thin side if it were only 4 studs wide? Hilarious

[LDD MOCs] Brickdoctor's 2011 Star Wars Advent Calendar
Praiter Yed replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
All looking good so far, I'd agree that the red bit on Slave I isn't quite as good as the rest of it (which is superb btw) but hey, you're doing these in a limited time-scale. I must admit, initially I thought you had these already 'built' and ready to post, but it looks like you were cutting it fine with the Spider Droid - maybe this topic should be called Man Vs Lego! BTW I actually like Chewbacca's face - it has a fun, space-dog feel. Chewie may be mighty but he is not always intimidating. -
The Walking Dead + others
Praiter Yed replied to TLOR FETT's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I like your Rick and Carl Grimes - they look very Lego-ish. Although you've deviated from the Lego style for Ash, I think his face is brilliant - a really good likeness and a good torso design too. It would be nice to see him with a chain-saw fastened to his arm and I find it a bit odd that you left him bald . Sorry to say I'm not really a fan of your Charlie Brown but I'm not really a Charlie Brown fan so who am I to judge? -
No need to imagine. Among other things there's some really cool Star Wars guns plus some rather vicious looking knives - great for hacking through a dense jungle or hordes of the undead. I'm really loving the brown shotgun with the grey barrel and trigger I'm not very clued up on custom weapons and wouldn't have known if some of these were 'protos' or not so I'll look forward to your review Once again, thanks for the votes and to Luxor V and BrickArms

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Praiter Yed replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think they have a small amount of sand print around the knee armour too . EDIT: But if not please don't tipex your minifigs - just rub off the print using liquid brasso - it's easy and looks great. -
I haven't seen Despicable Me... ...and I don't recall seeing it in a movie or on TV. But, I am aware that this is an infamous drunken act at office parties Congratulations to today's winners.

I nearly spat coffee on my daughters iPad when I saw my potato head on the calendar! And a 'probable' ANH Leia is perfect for me - Lego luck has been strong with me this year. Many thanks CopMike and all involved

Is this OK? I haven't done the badge yet, but I will have a go. let me know if you would like any changes.

What was the last movie you watched?

Watched the new Conan movie, now I don't mind the occasional mindless, throw-away, turn-your-brain-off film but this was BAD. -
Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
Praiter Yed replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Steven Moffat has stated that any planned DW movie will belong to the same canon as the TV show and won't be some awful American reboot. Link
