  1. It could be because I've saved the image in 4 colours rather than just rgb (or maybe the resolution is too high) sometimes that can cause images not to display correctly on screen but you should still be able to download them and get a more accurate colour match when printing. If the images LuxorV pm's don't work for you, let me know and I'll try saving as a different format. Thanks LuxorV
  2. Thanks to Cop Mike, Siegfried and anybody else involved in organising the raffle BTW My figs arrived
  3. Thanks for the review mutley777 . I can't wait to get my hands on one of these. The printed windscreen is nice but I'm not overly impressed with the Tie Interceptor - just another mini-Tie with a square-ish cockpit . But for parts, the minifig and of course the Death Star - I think this is easily worth a tenner. If these end up on sale I'll probably pick up more than one, and who knows with a bit of experimentation, maybe a little drilling, maybe a little gluing it could be possible to fit a super-laser. Does anybody know how long these will be available for? ie Is series 1 deleted as soon as series 2 comes out?
  4. I recently built a version of the medal ceremony scene based on the sketch model in the visual dictionary and also provided crabboy329 with some reference pics when he was doing the LDD version. So, I'm personally very happy to see that somebody has finally built this in real bricks . You say this is a WIP but I'm struggling to find what's missing. I'll be interested to see the other side (are you building the 'War Room' like crabboy329 did?).
  5. Sorry, my bad, I meant Marina.
  6. I'm assuming that series 1 of the planet sets will be deleted shortly after the arrival of series 2 - but does anybody know for sure? I'm trying to decide whether to buy them now or see if they go on sale.
  7. Just did the same and also bought the Sith Nightspeeder for £12.50 at the same time.
  8. OK, you twisted my arm...
  9. Had to nip out of work to see a customer today and took the scenic route back - that's the route past Sainsbury's, two Asda's and TRU . Not much to report except Asda again with Ewok Attack @ £12.47 and the Sith Nightspeeder @ £12.48 (presumably the extra penny is for the huge DSS). TRU had discount on a 4 in 1 box of City Police Stuff (I'm pretty sure it included: 7498, 7279, 7285 & 7235) @ £69.99. And POP Ostrich Race @ £7.99 which I thought was still a bit steep Also my local Asda has the City Harbour down to £25 (still beyond what I would be willing to pay for it).
  10. It's displaying OK for me but here's the link to my brickshelf if you're having trouble. I think what I've called 'Earth Blue' is the same as BL Dark Blue.
  11. I'm not sure if I got the colour right for his 'leotard ' - I've done it Earth Blue - let me know if that needs changing...
  12. My local Asda were re-stocking their toy aisle yesterday so popped in this morning on the off-chance of any Lego bargains; Lego Cars '8424 Mater's Spy Zone" and "8423 World Grand Prix Racing Rivalry" only £2.50 each! and Alien Conquest '7065 Alien Mothership' at £15. Some Duplo on offer too. My Asda is only small so could be more bargains at bigger stores. Wilkinsons currently have 50% off some Lego (mostly Lego games at the one near me) and Duplo. Also S@H seems to have some reasonable offers at the moment
  13. Thanks for this review cei. The previous Y-Wing is possibly my favourite LSW system scaled vehicle, but the more I look at this one the more I like it. I think some improvements in shaping have been made and the new R2 unit is a big draw. As a collector of OT minifigs I'm a little disappointed to see Gold Leader sporting the 'generic rebel pilot head' and his helmet print doesn't seem much different from 7658 (which was fine anyway). This has been my first chance to have a good look at a front-on view of ceremonial Leia and despite having more detail on her belt and necklace, I arrogantly think that my custom version is better (more cleaveage you see ). I suspect that one day I will own this set but I certainly won't be paying £50 for it.
  14. These look really good. I like how you made the ring and I think both Aragorn and the Nazgul look particularly good. Is the Nazgul cape custom or is it the Dementor cape? I can't help but wonder whether the LOTR licensed theme is a positive thing for you or if perhaps it's a bit of an a annoyance due to all your hard work and expense.
  15. I found this pdf file a while ago whilst looking for a different cape template. Not quite the same but maybe it will do the job. EDIT: I've just quickly altered my cape template (hi-res file displays bigger than actual print size)...
  16. I've updated the images in my original post
  17. Hope these are OK, let me know if you need any changes. Thanks to Hound Knight for the Bicorne template.
  18. Thanks for this factual and well presented review Darth Yogi It's nice that you added some links to reference material, I was struggling to identify some of these customs in particular the Z5E Pod Gun from The Fifth Element ( should have known that one) and the Coreburner from Escape from LA. Until reading this I actually thought the Bloop Gun Grenade Launcher was a shotgun - I suppose it could be used that way. Aside from the Star Wars customs which I'm particularly fond of, I really the Flame Gun which makes me want to make a custom Logan 5 minifig.
  19. It's a while since I've seen the original Alien and I can't remember if it gives a date when it's supposed to be set? But I would guess that this is at least decades before Alien. The original space craft that they find the Alien eggs in is in the teaser and in one bit you see the chair that the 'space jockey' sits in rising from the floor. So there's little doubt that this is a direct prequel to Alien. Although Ridley Scott has stated that there will be no Xenomorphs in this film, I wouldn't be surprised to see one bursting from the chest of the Space Jockey at the end.
  20. 7879 Hoth Echo Base has less parts and less figures than the Battle of Endor yet (in the UK at least) is more expensive. Personally I find there's little point in trying to second guess TLGs pricing - we'll just have to wait and see
  21. I did a search and was surprised that nobody had started a topic on this, in fact I couldn't even find any Alien related topics (apart from a locked one about AVP - the least said about that the better). I've been following progress on Prometheus for a while and I'm really too excited about this film and in my experience too much excitement usually leads to disappointment. But now the hype is really kicking in, so much so that over at Apple they've got 3 teasers for the teaser (which will premier in hi-def on Apple tomorrow. Link.. But you can watch the lo-def version already here. Empire suggests that Prometheus is the name of a space-craft whereas I thought it was going to be some meaningful title about gods giving fire to the people - possibly both. So is anybody else totally hyped about Ridley Scott revisiting the 'Alien' universe? What do you guys think about the teaser? Perhaps you think the Alien franchise should be left well alone. Or maybe I just started another topic that's going to get locked ? EDIT: Hi-Def teaser trailer is now available to view at Apple
  22. Managed to get my daughter to sit down with me on Sunday to watch my favourite Christmas movie; Edward Scissorhands. I'm not a particularly emotional guy but the end of that film affects me almost as much as the end of The Empire Strikes Back. Fighting to retain my masculine exterior I turned to my daughter and asked what she thought of it - 'It was alright', she said - kids!
  23. Wow, my entry flashed up so quick on the front page I thought I'd imagined it, then I scrolled down and there it was . I can't believe it - thanks Seigfried.
  24. Ahh, I thought it was an odd request given the quality of image you posted. Have to admit I was a little worried about the bicorne - size wise, and, if it might crease when you apply it, but I could give it a go and leave it up to you to resize if necessary. Does the white rosette thing go on both sides?
  25. Guys, I'd be willing to do all these but with work, Christmas and some of my own projects it's going to be in the New Year if you don't mind waiting? Could even get towards February. Obviously if anybody else wants to do them in the meantime that's fine (I don't want to hog the decal making ). @ JediAnakin & K-nut - these are both The Penguin's designs right? - might be worth asking his permission first as a courtesy - The Penguin isn't a huge fan of decals and he may not be too keen on me copying his designs.
