'Prince Guts' is also the natural stepping stone before he becomes 'King Guts'.

Heroica RPG - Quest #85: Visions of an Unblinking Terror
Brickdoctor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
I swap my Large Water Canteen for my Counterstrike Gloves. -
Right. (And the pun has to be related to the action, of course.)

In regards to the Royal Guard weapon, if you don't mind the lack of a black handle and the short handle sticking off to the side for the hand to grip, the best solution I've seen is a dark bley harpoon gun, with the hand 'upside down', the arm pointing straight down, and the gun held 'backwards'.

Does this have anything to do with Heroica anymore?

I love how one of Byblos' clues specifically reassures us that it's "definitely not an anagram".

Could Eurobricks staff enable Tapatalk?
Brickdoctor replied to ryanfitton's topic in Forum Information and Help
I'm not sure if it's a universal case, but I've viewed some other forums on my phone that use Tapatalk, and I'm constantly bugged by a rather large header advertisement telling me to install Tapatalk. EB's mobile version is already good enough that I would continue using it without Tapatalk even if it was enabled, and I don't think I'd want to see that banner there spoiling EB. -
SoNE Contest Episode II: Escaping from the wreckage
Brickdoctor replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
You earned 12. I had no input on that score, so I can't answer completely, but I do want to point out that we score with '5' as an average MOC for the first round, so a '6' is above-average, and it looks like there were some builders who had incredible entries and beat you to the second round of judging where you can get a lot more points, not necessarily that your entry was bad. I wouldn't be discouraged. -

"Miss Uq, let me take Scorpiodemon B. As I am already Poisoned and Immune to Sudden Death, its Special can't do anything to me. That way Byblos can Blind one of the enemies, make one of the Scorpiodemons Fragile, or try to Doom someone." I attack Scorpiodemon B from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. -

It doesn't matter who you were specifically addressing; you were still saying that you wanted to finish the current quest in order to go on someone else's quest. It's impossible for me to predict how long a quest will take with as much open-world freedom as this one, and I said that multiple times. You did help a Shadeaux NPC, but you didn't devote your entire effort to him. I said it would be easy to find, and it was. I definitely remember your saying at one point in the middle of 31 that you had previously felt like you didn't know what you were supposed to be doing in that quest. In any case, point taken; I'll try to go for a better balance of freedom and railroading next time. And even if it's not the best for the storyline, as far as I'm concerned, if the progression of events and decisions felt more like real life, I'm pleased with myself for being able to do that. I suppose. But we all made the choice to sign up for that, so it doesn't seem right to use that as an excuse, neither for my activity nor for yours. No, I think impatience was justifiable in this case, and I don't pretend to claim that a large part of the fault was mine. I just feel like in some major ways some of you handled your response to the quest poorly.

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours
Brickdoctor replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
QM Note: I don't believe I ever gave any of you an Elven Longsword. Only Saeavel and Elerylian had them. Flipz, did you give the Scarf and Healing Staff to NPCs? I don't see them in the current stats. -
Oh, also, forgot about this: saying that either another player is kicked out or you'll quit; that's just plain childish.

"Let me take a Free Hit from one of the Scorpiodemons first. I won't take any Damage aside from the Poisoned-effect. Then once I'm Poisoned, I can attack Scorpiodemons, and if I roll Special Damage, nothing will happen since I'm immune to Sudden Death." -
Agreed. Actually, neither of you really ever struck me as impatient. Good point(s). I know it was said before in Quest 31 that players can feel lost in my storyline or apparent lack of it; I'll have to pay more attention to that. (Although in the case of that quest, I was basically railroading the entire time, whereas there was actually a lot of open-world play in this one.)

Nothing wrong with mentioning that you have a source and know something related to rumored sets, but if we allow people to start making up 'rumors', then much of the thread will be discussion of lists of sets that people decide they want, and we have a thread for that. (And if we find out that you're spreading lots of rumors with no basis, lying about having sources, then that's an easy way to get Chambered or banned.)

Lots of good discussion here; I'll read through it all when I have more time. Just to clarify, though, I'm actually not that active in Heroica...or anywhere on EB right now. The posting I've been doing in Heroica is mainly just to finish up the quest I was running, which I just did. Unfortunately, the Heroica quest was supposed to be finished a couple months ago, and technical difficulties out of my control stretched it out. SoNE may have been launched before everything was perfectly in place, but that was necessary because I had to run that first episode before I went to university and, as you can see, got really really busy really really quickly. I intended for Episode II to be run primarily by the other members of the team.

Finally. Well, that was a terribly slow quest. I cannot apologize enough nor can I thank you enough for sticking with it. I hope the rewards were appropriate for a quest of that length. I will say this: I know that many of the delays were either my fault or none of our faults. But one or two of you seemed to make a habit of being annoyingly impatient, and I also saw more than a few complaints about how you weren't going to be able to get back in time for some other quest. I don't care where the fault lies for any delays; you are still the one in control of your own responses, and you made a commitment to the quest just as much as the other players and the QM did when you signed up. To repeatedly state how much you want this quest to end in order to get onto another quest is, in my opinion, entirely disrespectful, especially considering that, despite the delays, the QM had not abandoned the quest and was trying his best to finish it after circumstances out of his control had caused the quest to run longer and conflict with his schedule.
