Movie-accurate or not, the silver helmet combined with black legs with olive printing looks really strange to me. Kind of looks like he's wearing camouflage-printed pants, suspenders, and just his helmet without the rest of his armor. Maybe it's just me.

The whole point of the increasing costs of WP upgrades is that it creates a cap. Like WBD said, there comes a point where higher WP will become nothing more than a status symbol or a misinterpreted measure of quality for practically all purposes. (Like, for example, megapixels.) If the filthy-rich want to spend more and more Gold on that, I don't see the problem. Any benefit they get from it is something they've most likely paid more than enough for.

And if the GIMP learning curve proves too difficult, Paint.NET is a good option, too. Much easier to learn than GIMP, I think, just not as powerful, at least as far as I know without plugins. I tried both and ended up sticking with Paint.NET until I got Photoshop.

CS2. You need an Adobe account to download it, and if you're using a Mac, this is a Power PC application, so you need to be running OS X 10.6 or earlier. Technically, the download is intended for people who bought CS2 and want to install it again, because Adobe didn't want to continue running the activation servers. The intent wasn't to provide it for free; there's just nothing (other than moral judgment) stopping people who never bought CS2 from getting it for free.

Yeah, the color overlays on those pieces looks very CGI-ish as opposed to a physical print. If you have to use them, in Photoshop I would suggest making them a little noisier, dropping their transparency, and playing around with one of the texture or artistic filters to find one that'd give it a slightly more pixelated look, but I'm not sure what program you're using. Some of the pieces aren't cleanly isolated from their backgrounds, too, and those hard edges, sharp corners, and slivers of white make it look more artificial.

Other than older, more exclusive, non-storyline stuff like Maersk, yes. I don't know what the numbers are right now, but historically and the last time I read about it, City/Town typically leads Star Wars as far as sets sold. (Which makes sense.) -
