  1. They do have some nice accessories, even if the minifigs have a cartoonish look that I don't really like. And I think that trans-blue gem piece would be perfect as a new picture for Mythril Shards. (or some other chunk of Mythril) I won't be buying the sets, though. Lord of the Rings is already taking too much money away from Star Wars. It's incredible how many different themes' minifig pieces we can use with Heroica. I never would've been looking specifically for new accessories in action theme sets if I wasn't building for this game.
  2. Making my way against the flow of a number of heroes leaving the Hall to confront Lady Wren, I climb the stairs to Scheherazade's Saloon. With a cup of tea in my hand, I walk over to Thormanil. "Well, Master Nihai, that little trip to pass the time took longer than I expected. "I don't think we've actually spoken in a long time and I have no idea what you've been doing, but I get an, uh, gut feeling that you have something for me." I hand Thormanil my Frozen Saber in exchange for a Scroll of Armor Sundering and 200 Gold. Out of the corner of my eye, I spot Benji at a nearby table. "Ah, Master Carvenhall. I hear you're putting together a party to head to the Fields of Glory, and I'm interested in being a part of it. Oh, and I have these for you:" I give Benji my Quiver of Poisoning and Mockthril Longbow for his Cobweb Cowl.
  3. Ah, I see it now. I missed the edit to the post.
  4. Legonater, can I have my Bedroll back? I forgot to ask for it while I was still in the Fields.
  5. Day Twenty, you are a bold one. Midi-scale Belbullab-22 starfighter or not, you must realize, you are doomed. I apologize for posting this a day late. I started this model thinking it would be just another midi-scale ship, but it's got so many curves in it that I didn't realize were there! In the end, I've arrived at a result that I'm somewhat satisfied with. The cockpit area is more blocky than I would like, but I'm happy with the way the engines and the ship as a whole turned out. 2012SWAdvent_Day20.lxf
  6. OoC: Oh, who has my Bedroll? Legonater, right? I'd like to have that back.
  7. OoC: You added 400 Gold to my stats, but you forgot to deduct 400 Gold from Legonater's. Not that either of us mind if you give him 400 Gold. "No thank you, Miss Missy; I plan to return soon, and I'd like to save my Glory Points for later." "Master Donauld, thank you for allowing us to battle on your lands. Master Unth'or, Master Emorith, I hope you'll be a part of next party I join to quest in these fields. Master Rone, good luck." I leave the Fields of Glory and return to the Hall.
  8. As long as the QM doesn't swing down from a chandelier and shoot poisoned arrows at them, they'll be fine.
  9. "Thank you, Master Rone, and good luck on your next quest against Lady Wren."
  10. While waiting, I consume the Raw Meat. "Master Rone, I believe these are now yours:" I hand Master Rone my Briar Bow and Mythril Shard in exchange for his Darksteel Crossbow and 400 Gold.
  11. Thanks for the picture. I think they changed the torso print, too. Leg and hip printing does look really nice. They look slightly off-white to me; I think they're just flesh.
  12. Yep. Zeph said Legonater could join Q53 later, so I think we're just waiting to formally divide the loot an return items before leaving. (and I have a trade to make with Legonater, too) I want to go back with your party, and I think posades, swils and K-nut were interested, too. That'd be two tanks, two Damage-dealers and a healer, if you like that lineup of heroes. Not bad.
  13. Oh, I don't know how to do that. I've never used the editing tools, since I do it all with Photoshop.
  14. For the beta Photobucket? I'm not completely sure how to sign up, to be honest. I got an email a couple months ago with a link; I assume everyone already signed up for the site at that time got one.
  15. At least Cronk rolled Special Damage when it was okay to. Docken usually rolls Aura when it's not so okay to.
  16. And if you sign up for the beta version they offer now, they'll keep your images at full resolution instead of compressing them like they did to the pictures from my first three quests.
  17. I don't think so. I don't think I've contributed enough to the Wren quests as a player and hero character to deserve a spot in the finale; I don't want to take a spot away from someone whose character is more closely associated with the Wren quests. I think I'm going back to the Fields with Flare's party, anyways.
  18. OoC: Our GP should be up to 21 now, right? "Outstanding performance, Master Emorith! "I'll give both Lightning Bombs, the Silver Ore and 1 Glory Point to Master Emorith. I'll give a Smelling Salts and 1 Glory Point to Master Rone. I'll give a Smelling Salts and 1 Glory Point to Master Unth'or. I'll keep the Raw Meat for myself. Finally, I'll give one of the Aquamarines I was saving to Master Unth'or, and the other to Master Rone." I also return the Darksteel Crossbow and the Phoenix Essence to Dyric.
  19. Remember, this thread is for discussion of sets and rumors, not your hopes or wishlists. Discussion of sets that you wish to see but which we have no rumor of from a source that seems reliable belongs in Future Star Wars Sets. Asking if there's been any news of UCS sets is fine here, but discussion of UCS sets that are only wishes belongs over there. I'll move a few posts... ...done.
  20. Now, now, Your Highness. You're not going to like what Day Nineteen has in store for your people. In time, their suffering will persuade you to see our point of view. Commander, process them. Yes, sir. Sergeant, take them to the Midi-scale Sheathipede-class shuttle. Okay, so that was a bit of a stretch adapting the quote. I was surprised; this was a model I enjoyed building. Despite the many angles mixed with curves, the shapes of this ship seem to fit in well with what can be done with LEGO. I thought it would be difficult, but there was no spot where I really got stuck and didn't know how to shape something. With the shaping down and the interior skeleton in place, I could concentrate more on the details. Until I built this model, I didn't realize that the 'real' thing actually has a decent amount of greebling and is really more angles than curves. The design doesn't scream 'Star Wars' (thought maybe that's because it's just a background supporting craft that's neither memorable nor notably recognizable), but it's not a bad ship. 2012StarWarsAdvent_Day19.lxf
  21. Your entry topic does have to follow the guidelines for posting on EB, so photos are limited to a maximum size of 800px by 600px.
  22. And today's second model... We intercepted no 'Day Nineteen'. Aaach... This is a Miniland-scale Rebel Trooper... We're on a diplomatic mission... I built this figure from the top down, unlike all the other Miniland-scale figures, which I built from the bottom up. I wanted to start with the helmet, knowing that that would be the hardest. Once I got that done, the rest was fairly easy. I think I'm getting the hang of Miniland figures. They're certainly turning out better than last year's. 2012SWAdvent_Day18.lxf
  23. Because of the time EB was down, we've got three models today. To start things off... We can enter Day Seventeen using the secret passages on the waterfall side. Once we get to the main entrance, the Midi-scale Seraph-class Flash Speeder will create a diversion, so that we can enter the palace and capture the Viceroy. This model turned out a lot harder than I thought it would be. I started with the engines and gun mount, nice and easy angles... and then suddenly I get to this nose that's got almost three layers of curves, all sloping forward and ending in a rounded tip. I took a bit of creative liberty in this section. I used the 2x6 slope pieces SNOTed there, which is by no means a new idea, but I like it for solving these areas, because it maintains the curved shape while transitioning into an angled side that I can work more easily with. Once I found a good attachment point to add the angled top panel, rounding off the nose was a simple manner of adding cheese. It's a little long, and its curves aren't really accurate, but I think it's a good looking solution that fits in with the model and represents well the overall shape. 2012SWAdvent_Day17.lxf
  24. Thanks and nice work, Ace and EB Staff.
