Yeah, I think it was something like fourteen battles we planned to fight in order for everyone to get a Medal of Glory.

Heroica RPG - Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory
Brickdoctor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"This appears fairly straight-forward: we attack the White Rabbits and Hodgepodges, leaving the Pumpkinfaces with the low Levels and ability to Stun for later. Master Carvenhall, Master Unth'or and I have the highest Defense, so we should take the White Rabbits, which means Master Nihai and Master Emorith should take the Hodgepodges. Seven Free Hits means two of us have to take two Free Hits, so Master Carvenhall and I should act first in the Order." I attack White Rabbit A from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. -
People were Fame-farming and multiboxing and duping to get more Ammies - Kabam's solution was to make them soulbound and essentially worthless. There's supposed to be some sort of Fame-Gold conversion system in the works, but I haven't heard much about it.

Survived backing into a Skull Shrine, having a Sphinx spawn right next me, getting confused at O2 and taking two of O1's big shotguns in the face - died to a Ghost God. I was backing away from some gods and I guess I wasn't watching my HP bar, because I strafed sideways right into the line of Ghost God bullets at the perfect angle to get hit by more than one of them, started to back away and the next thing I saw was the death screen. No picture of the grave because I was soloing and couldn't find it again. I've still got a 5/8 Priest and a 4/8 Pally with the pots and equips to take a Necro back to 5/8 with T10s, but I think I'll take a break for a day or so. It's the rolling I dread. I'll probably take the Priest and run some more Abysses first; it's only 7 Vit away from 6/8.

OoC: I'm just making sure that we don't skip it for no reason and then later have to dig through all our battles to figure out to where we didn't go. -

OoC: Don't know if you're skipping it for a reason, but if we're clearing the easy and medium areas by rough sections, we haven't gone to the Apple Orchard yet. -

"Fair enough."I consume the Raw Meat. -

"It's not greed. I'm merely preparing myself to best confront other enemies. I have been in these Fields before; I know there should be other chances for me to obtain Raw Meat. I ask that I receive it now because I know that I have the defense to make good use of an additional 5 Health." -
He's had practice after that battle with Flipz and the Ji Pei guardian in his last quest.

OoC: You still have the Cobweb Cowl listed as my equipped artifact instead of the gloves. "Nice work, Master Nihai. I'm sure you all already know what loot I'd like, so I'll wait for that to be divided and then I assume we head to the Sanctuary to rest." -
Do you need any equips or even pots? (speaking of equips, I'd stick with T8s until you can max Def, instead of using the T10s)

OoC: Oh, if you want a shot at more Gold, you can attack the Mad Cow as your action, with the conditional statement that you only do it if you aren't Confused. Yes, Pie; you now have to roll for actions in all the Rounds. -

Brickdoctor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Excellent, now, for one Round, Master Carvenhall will do nothing, I will swap out my Cobweb Cowl for my Counterstrike Gloves, Master Unth'or will do nothing, Master Nihai will do nothing and Master Emorith will do nothing, in that order. That should take care of the Death's Rose." I swap out my Cobweb Cowl for my Counterstrike Gloves from the Back Row. "Then for all the Rounds after that, we will all do nothing with myself first in the Order until the Mad Cow is counterstruck to death." OoC: In other words, we autoroll doing nothing. -

OoC: *fist pump* Awesome, K-nut and swils. "Master Carvenhall and I can tank the hits from the Roses. We should take turns attacking the Mad Cow, so that if one of us gets Confused, others can target the Cow until the Confused effect wears off. If Master Emorith's got the Mad Cow this Round, the rest of us should do nothing." I do nothing from the Back Row. OoC: Order of Actions should be Docken, Benji, Xander, Thormanil, Althior. If you want to autoroll a couple Rounds until my Confused effect wears off, Pie; we'll do the same thing in the next Round unless Althior is Confused, in which case he'll do nothing and Xander will attack the Mad Cow instead. -

OoC: Whoops, yeah, that's what I meant. All these names with "-fly" in them are confusing. You know, like if some evil QM decided to give all his NPCs names that started with an 'L'. -

"Ugh. Okay, Master Emorith, take a Splatterfly again. Master Nihai doesn't have any effects that would majorly impact the battle; he should take the other Splatterfly. Master Unth'or and Master Carvenhall should both take the Flutterfly. "I'll use my turn to de-equip my Counterstrike Gloves, to prevent my harming any of you." "That'll leave eleven Free Hits. I'll go first and take three of them: Death's Rose A + Bloody Bug C + Shutterfly D vs. Bartholomew Docken - (((15+0+0)/2)-25=0 Damage) Death's Rose B + Bloody Bug D vs. Xander Unth'or - (((15+6)/2)-5=6 Damage) Mad Cow + Shutterfly A vs. Benji Carvenhall - (((20+6)/2)-7=6 Damage) Bloody Bug A + Shutterfly B vs. Thormanil Nihai - (((6+6)/2)-3=3 Damage) Bloody Bug B + Shutterfly C vs. Althior Emorith - (((6+6)/2)-4=2 Damage) I swap out my Counterstrike Gloves for my Cobweb Cowl from the Back Row. -
I spent all of Quest 4 (and if you know Quest 4, you know that when I say "all" I'm talking about a lot of time) trying to set up battles that would last for more that a couple rounds.

You can see from his avatar that Docken has the shield on his upper left arm, leaving both hands free to hold the bow. (which is technically a crossbow, actually, which I think you can operate with one hand; it'd just take longer and be less accurate)

Brickdoctor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Leave the Death's Roses alone; Master Carvenhall and I can take their Free Hits with ease. I've got the Mad Cow; it has the highest Level and still can't harm me. No one should target the Bloody Bugs, whose Level is low but whose Special is definitely harmful. Master Emorith has no effect, positive or negative, so he should take a Splatterfly. That leaves the three Flutterflies for Master Carvenhall, Master Nihai and Master Unth'or. "Order should be Master Carvenhall, myself, Master Unth'or, Master Nihai and Master Emorith." I attack the Mad Cow from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. OoC: Free Hits would be: Death's Rose A + Bloody Bug D + Shutterfly C vs. Benji Carvenhall - (((15+6+6)/2)-7=7 Damage) Death's Rose B + Splatterfly B + Shutterfly D vs. Bartholomew Docken - (((15+0*+0*)/2)-25=0 Damage) Bloody Bug A + Splatterfly C vs. Xander Unth'or - (((9+6)/2)-5=3 Damage) Bloody Bug B + Shutterfly A vs. Thormanil Nihai - (((6+6)/2**)-3=3 Damage) Bloody Bug C + Shutterfly B vs. Althior Emorith - (((6+6)/2)-4=2 Damage) *Because of the Dread Hat; the Levels of the enemies are actually higher than those getting Free Hits on Flare. **swils, I suggest you attack from the Back Row until there are fewer enemies. -

OoC: By the way, once the Battle Ant goes down, we can just do the waiting thing where Flare and I sit at the top of the Order and tank all the Free Hits from the Scarecrows until they both die of Poisoning. (or get Counterstruck to death, either works) -
