Heroica RPG - Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory
Brickdoctor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Shall we just each take a Crow or Battle Ant and leave the Scarecrows alone while they're Blinded? None of these enemies are really going to hurt anyone - the only one we shouldn't target is the Feral Hen because we don't want it to flee; once all the other enemies are down we'll Counterstrike it to death." I attack Scary Crow G from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. -

"Master Carvenhall, switch targets with me. You don't need to Poison a Poisoned enemy and I don't need to Blind a Blinded enemy. Or we could avoid Scarecrow B if we want to get rid of a Free Hit, but that won't really make much difference." I attack Scarecrow A from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. -

"Same plan should work. Master Unth'or should take one of the Scary Crows instead; everyone else stays on the same (type of) target." I attack Scarecrow B from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. -

"Master Emorith should be last in the order, being our healer. Also, the Scarecrows are Demons; they're immune to your Darkness-elemental crossbow. Switch to your Light-elemental handcannon." I attack Scarecrow B from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. -
See, if you guys didn't roleplay, you wouldn't have those problems with your characters.

Heroica RPG - Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory
Brickdoctor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I suggest that Master Nihai take one of the Scary Crows; he can assassinate them. Master Carvenhall and I should take the Scarecrows; he'll barely take any Damage from one and I won't take any. The Scarecrows can kill the Scary Crows for us, so we should leave most of them untargeted for now, which leaves the Battle Ants for Master Emorith and Master Unth'or. Don't target the Feral Hen for now; we don't want it to flee the battle and take its precious drumstick with it. "There would be eight Free Hits: Scary Crows B through H and the Feral Hen. I should go third in the Battle Order so I can absorb the stronger Free Hit of the Feral Hen. Master Nihai and Master Emorith have the least Defense, so they should go fourth and fifth, respectively, to take only one Free Hit. Master Carvenhall and Master Unth'or can take the first two actions; I don't think it really matters which of you is first and which is second. "Does that sound good to you, Master Carvenhall?" OoC: Dibs on the drumstick. -

OoC: I'd have to take off the Dread Hat, so I'm not doing that. You can take the Marksman's Hat, though. You have an open slot; you could take it for this battle. After that I think I told posades in our PM that he could use it. (after he levels up and gains the extra slot) I offer Thormanil my White Marksman's Hat. OoC: Oh, stats look good, Pie, except that you forgot to add the GP stat to each of our stats. On that note, Sandy, the first post's GP ranks list one "Bartholomew Docken (JimButcher)". -

"Good day again, Master Donauld. Seems I just can't stay away from your farm." "Master Carvenhall, I suggest we head to either the Corn Maze or Apple Orchard first, and the Butterfly Plains second, so that we can have the Sanctuary for our use as soon as possible." -
Pie, are you going to post the party stats and intro in the Fields topic, or do you want us to just head over there?

As of last night, RIP Skipper's 4/8 Priest with CWand, Bulwark, Old Tops and Exa HP. Died of a strange bit of lag during O1's "Be silent!" bomb ring phase. (there were no bombs or shots, and then there were snowballs and no bombs, and then bombs came flying out and half my own HP was suddenly gone - I never saw exactly what happened but Skipper died standing right next to me just as I myself was reaching for the Nexus hotkey)

Maybe the instruments get covered in gunk from being used in all those battles, which throws off their sound. Using a Grating Stone to scrape all that off makes the instrument more effective. Or maybe you use the Grating Stone to hammer out dents in the instrument, or maybe you use it to alter the shape of the instrument to change its sound to something more powerful.
-
Could a Red Assassin be a member of the 108 Stars, or would they be two separate orders?
-
Did we decide if Grating Stones can be used on shields or not?
-
Aw, I didn't get the SP: 20 shield.

Happy new year!

Quest 17 was even longer than Quest 4. (Quest 31 is longer still if you count the pages of the final battle that are in Quest 30)
-
For Master Hybros, a Cloak of the Red Assassin, but if that's too much to ask, perhaps a chance to purchase one. A Reaper of Ancestral Hatred wouldn't be a bad idea, either. For Master Guts Holla, that fourth and final Mythril Shard. For Master Atramor Gibbin, a vial of Insanely Overpowered Venom (causes the Insanely Overpoweringly Poisoned-effect; victims lose 100 Health per Round and the venom also affects all enemies normally immune to negative effects). For Master Xander Unth'or, who was cruelly forced to be left behind during part of his first quest, a Level-up Mushroom.

If you're that concerned about 0.5 XP in a battle where you got 500 Gold, I'll pick up an XP 'Shroom from the Fields and you can buy it from me for 1000 Gold.
-
I haven't made a major purchase since just after Quest 14.
-
You could do a cutaway showing the interior. Am I allowed to give suggestions like this?

Observing the Hall and resting after my duel with Thormanil, I look over my equipment. It's still very useable, but their surfaces are pitted and scratched wherever they're not worn smooth with heavy use, and the enemies seem to be getting stronger. Noticing that there are no matters that require my immediate attention, I walk over to the Marketplace. I had forgotten to do it before, so I exhange my Silver Ore for 60 Gold, bringing my total up to 1444 Gold. (1384+60=1444 Gold) Doing some mental calculations, I figure I'll need a little bit more, so I head to Portia's and sell my Soma for 22 Gold, which leaves me with 1466 Gold. (1444+22=1466 Gold) My first stop is Fabian's. Unrolling my Scroll of Armor Sundering and plopping my Dread Hat down unceremoniously in front of him, I say, "I'd like this scroll merged into this hat, Master Fabian." While the elf works, I browse his wares, picking out a pair of Counterstrike Gloves and a set of Heavy Armor. I take my hat back from Fabian and hand him 360 Gold, (50+80+230=360 Gold) which leaves me with 1106 Gold. (1466-360=1106 Gold) Thanking Fabian, I head over to the Smithy to speak to Anwyl. "Good day, master dwarf. I recently acquired this crossbow, and it requires an upgrade." I give Anwyl 190 Gold to upgrade the Darksteel Crossbow to WP: 10, (90+100=190 Gold) which leaves me with 916 Gold. (1106-190=916 Gold) "And I'd like one more thing done: enemies are growing more powerful; I've been Knocked Out a couple times recently. I'll give you this 900 Gold (160+170+180+190+200=900 Gold) to upgrade my shield to SP: 20." With 16 Gold remaining (916-900=16 Gold), I return to the Hall.

I'm not sure how you would submit half an entry, but you could make it battle-damaged...
-
So Quest 17, but on offense, rather than defense, right? I've got something like that planned. (but it's still a concept-stage quest and I haven't gotten it approved yet)

Decals, custom or official, are allowed. Painting is not allowed; that would be modifying a piece. (by changing its color with a method other than a decal; using a decal is specifically stated in the rules to be allowed)

I think duping's been fixed, but its effects are still noticeable in the fact that Incs are only worth 1 Life right now, and seem to be common enough that every realm I was in seemed to have someone planning to host a WC. I'm not sure of exactly what's changed, but the Castle and O1 seem the same and I haven't encountered anything new that's endangered me, so it seems like everything new is mid- to high-level dungeons. And there are some changes I like, like the extra slots for stackable HP/MP pots and the ability to double click an equip to swap it out with your current one.
