  1. I also think it would be pity if you gave up now. You did good job so far and your model looks very promising. If I go so far with my model I know I will finish it in any way...
  2. Thank you mentioning this detail. I think it is the most original part usage of the whole model.
  3. Thanks. I like black humour and this was good chance to show some creatively.
  4. When I saw set 75936 first time I fell in love with this huge T. rex. Then during building it I found big similarity between body of T. rex and chicken I had for lunch. This gave me initial idea: "Is it possible to rebuild T. rex into chicken and use only its parts?" Now I can say YES! I used original legs, modified body, make neck longer, built new tail, wings and head and here is Chicken rex (in short C. rex). It feaures moving legs, wings, neck, head and opening beak. You can find its detailed review here. And by the way it is even life-size - you can see my chicken besides medium sized egg for comparison at picture bellow. Building instructions are available at rebrickable.com
  5. As I wrote above I started building another vehicle from biker's evolution - bike. There was already built one bike from set 42036 by Artemy Zotov so I decided to build different one - kids bike. My bike features almost all details that you can find on real kids bike: front wheel steering operated by handlebar working transmisson between pedals and rear wheel working stand chain cover mudguard for front wheel front light seat with adjustable angle optional stabilizing wheels And here is funny Evolution of Biker's Vehicles built out of set 42036 as bonus:
  6. I like how it turned out. It is beautiful model and recognizable from the first sight. Good job!
  7. Thank you for your review. I don't own this set and I don't like its main model either. I think official B model is much better - at least from overall design viewpoint. If we speak about medium azure color you forgot to mention this year set 42106 - it contains total 24 medium azure parts! I think this set should be good donor of parts for alternative models. I can imagine building tractor or buggy from it.
  8. Thanks. By the way building instructions are freely available at buildinst.cz
  9. This is very good model of F1 race car. Good job! By the it would be cool to add picture of original model you were redesigning for comparison.
  10. So simple and so good. This had to be A model! Good job.
  11. It is good to see another alternative model in contest.
  12. Thanks. I have to stay with leg in plaster for next two weeks. Then it will be better.
  13. Four years ago I built dragster out of LEGO Technic set 42036. I also got idea for another alternative model but I haven't got enough motivation to finish it until now. Last Friday I twisted my ankle and got leg in plaster. It was inspiration that I needed to finish this wheelchair. I call it "Ultimate Biker's Vehicle" in accordance with this biker's evolution: If I keep having enough inspiration in upcoming days I will build other vehicles from this evolution. Building instructions are freely available at buildinst.cz
  14. 18. Pullback Racer 42106 I built this race car only out of parts available in LEGO Technic set 42106 so it is alternative model or C-model of this set. Building instructions are available at buildinst.cz Dimensions: lenght: 34 studs (41 with flames from exhausts) width: 15 studs height: 12 studs Functions: two modes - pullback and steering pullback motor (can be disabled for steering mode) front axle steering (can be blocked for pullback mode) easily removeable body opening hood Discussion topic:
  15. Building instructions for pullback racer are available at buildinst.cz now!
  16. It looks so cool. I like how you caught curves of original - especially mudguards are well executed. And version with roof is better than without it.
  17. I have to enter this contest. Building B-models is my favorite LEGO activity.
  18. What a cool sports car! I also like use of that transparent canopy - it gives futuristic look. Maybe it is covered with leather...
  19. Thank you both for your comments.
  20. I have to admit that I used one illegal building technique in my pullback racer - I connected two 2x4 plates to 3x5 L-liftarms by four studs each to get base for headlights. I think it is legal to connect just one stud of system part to hole in liftarm...
  21. Thanks. I am not sure that I understand what you mean by your "more". I am thinking about building at least one more alternative model from this and then other models are in pipeline. Yep, C-Rex was great parody of T-Rex.
  22. Thanks. You are right Ford RS200 looks similar to my model (I didn't know about this Ford before). I will but I can't say when I find time for making it. I hope it will be before contest deadline. Thank you. Connecting both functions together was my initial idea but later I found it almost impossible due to lack of useful parts and space. I think it would be possible in bigger model.
  23. I like curves of this roadster. I also like the style of your color pictures - they have so vivid colors and parts look like they are chromed.
  24. I like oldschool look of your pickup especially front grill is excellent. And those rearview mirrors are funny addition. I am looking forward to see finished model.
  25. It is interesting to see where you got from initial idea with pullback motor. I thought I was the first who got this idea but I was wrong...
