Those photos are years old. It is probably just some architecture project.

LEGO Ideas Discussion
Artanis I replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It has been brought up before, but regarding the modular buildings, they specifically make 2 per year. It's very possible that TLG would be hesitant to throw out an extra Ideas modular, since it may affect sales of the others. But then again, how many modular buyers also went for the Haunted House? (I honestly have no idea...but it's something to consider.) -
Yeah we all want Blacktron to reappear, because they were cool, and cool bad guys are what's been missing for a long time. Space Police 3 (5-6 years ago) had cool bad guy piratey aliens, but some humans would be nice, instead of the humans being good all the time. Quote Dark Helmet "good... is dumb". GoH was fun for a bit but I couldn't keep up with it, I dont even know what Shadowmere is. But all those mostly red & black human & non-human Nocturnus armies were fun back in the first year.

But we wants it, precious. We needs it! *gollum* *gollum*

I'm not surprised, really. -
Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!
Artanis I replied to Darth_Legois's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
That's because they are SW Lego sets at RRP. -
In that case, it may also probably be very childish, like jelly bean knights but 10 years sillier. Those minifigs would be very unique, the sets extremely colourful, and there would be umpteen new moulds wasted. I think I'd prefer Castle to take a back seat and be a "normal" theme. Castle AFOLs like grey, brown, black & green structures & environment, not orange, purple, trans light blue, lime etc. Have you seen this year's Ninjago sets? Too much colour for me. Great for kids though.

Lego worst failures by Lego Designer Mark Stafford

I have the UFO set, here is a video (not mine) to demonstrate what it does. The comments explain what the motor actually does. -
It's funny, here in the Castle "I wants" people are sick of humans v humans and want humans v something else, whereas in the Space "I wants" it's the opposite. 20 years since humans were last the bad guys. But here we are all sick of evil wizards and good knights v bad knights, haha.

The Drop. Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and so on. Went darker than I expected. I'm not a dog expert, but that didn't look like a pit bull to me.

Is it different from what was used for the CMF knight?
-
Back then they didn't have Ninjago, Chima & Star Wars for competition. I think we'll get one or the other for the most part.
-
I do believe that is indeed a green Futuron minifig! No way I am buying that set though From that pic and the one at the end it seems the castle minifig is either from black falcons or castle 2013. Blue torso, grey helmet & legs.
-
Perhaps they weren't very good
-
Another thing to consider is that these days printing white on a coloured torso yields decent results. It's slightly possible that an all green torso/arms/hands could be used with a white triangle printed on the front and something on the back.

What the color change in the Green baseplates?
Artanis I replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hahaha try $13 in Australia. Hence why I don't buy any baseplates. Only big one I have is an old grey one from the 80s with pen, chew and bend marks on it, the rest are from sets. They just seem way too expensive for what they are. Grey is useful for town & space based building, green has many uses, blue, like white, has few but definite uses, tan is good for desert (inc. Tatooine) and swamp scenes, black is good for town, space and underground, and brown has many uses, I think that's one that TLG could consider. You could use brown baseplates for anything except water, snow & heavy metropolitan scenes. -
You can (I don't even have any old ones). There isn't as much leverage, but obviously separators are only needed to bring them apart slightly anyway.
-
Although "evergreen" means more along the lines of always present, when TLG used the term they kinda meant that they'll continue to go back to it regularly, unlike 1-off themes that never return, or have many years between iterations (like agents, dinosaurs etc) and are basically just rehashes of what was released for a younger "generation". So the only true evergreen themes at the moment are City & Star Wars, and perhaps Friends.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. Since we don't have any Lego brand stores, all D2Cs come out some months after S@H release at standard retailers. Availability varies, some sets last days, others months, and usually they are exclusive to certain chains, just like the sets from standard themes you can only get from eg Target. The Mars Rover hit Myer (for a week or so?) and a few independent & hobby shops at the same time as the Delorean, probably 6 months after that was on S@H. But yes, there were a handful in the bookshop I often visit (I only buy CMFs, everything else there is top price) for a time. Unfortunately for you, this was too long ago. (I do recall thinking "hmmm, is that the one those guys online were disappointed about missing out on?") Plus, at $70 plus postage, I'm sure it would've been quicker & cheaper then to satisfy a scalper on eBay? -
Also, where did the title even come from?
-
All you need is... It works for the new orange ones too, that come in every other set these days.
-
Custom torsos look nice, but sadly make the legs look dull! They might look better with printing/decal too.

Funny, when I first saw a bunch of Mars Rovers in a shop I thought "ugh how ugly, that looks rubbish" and that was the end of that. And considering when D2Cs hit retail here, that would've been 6 months after release at the earliest. I saw them a few more times over the next month or more. Some times USA gets the other end of the stick for a change. I was going to get the Birds set, but I think the price is $70? Ouch! That one's a maybe. -
