  1. Found it. "You decide if it's a joke or real". Possibly hints that all are real. Forget anything I say.
  2. Didn't the original post say something like "1 or more of the following are untrue"?
  3. Another shire set? Pass. I'll army-build with D&D minifigs instead.
  4. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/91225-how-to-diy-decals/ This tutorial (although the images are gone) is the process I use. The image is printed onto paper, the clear tape is placed over the image and rubbed down hard. Then the paper+tape are submerged in warm water, in time the paper easily rubs off the tape leaving the image on the tape. You then simply place the still wet tape onto the torso, sliding it around until it's aligned. It dries and stays on quite well, but isn't permanent, you can peel it off no problems.
  5. That's effectively what these are - you print the image onto standard paper, but then transfer it onto the tape in water, and apply that. Way cheaper than using decal 'paper' and still pretty good results (doesn't matter if you mess it up either). The hard part is matching the print to the minifig colour in Photoshop etc. Drawback being that you can't print white!
  6. Not enough forest, too much stronghold. Won't keep me from getting up at 2am to order one. Can always add more trees and things to hide it from plain sight.
  7. If you have access to a laser printer and some sticky tape, you can make your own like I have: Clearly the greatest limitation is the airtanks (which I've much ignored) followed by the helmet. In addition to these guys here, I have a bright green one sitting waiting only for his print, a coral that also lacks appropriate hands, a neon yellow also needing legs and hands, a brown WITHOUT A HELMET TLG!, and there's also a pearl grey helmet without any matching parts.
  8. Blacktron I had the coolest minifigs & colour scheme, but all of them up to the mid 90s were great.
  9. Ahhh, back to normal, where there's only 2 or 3 worth getting.
  10. I'd ask for an Osgiliath play set. Orcs, Gondor soldiers, a proper fell beast, ruins, row boats, etc... ...FARAMIR...
  11. Oh man, that footage... I want all of those sets... (and none of the fashion)... and wow, MISB monorails & pirate ships? A time machine please! I have ACTUAL dreams about walking into a modern day shop and seeing these old gold sets on the shelves. You also need to have 1980s currency, anything with a later date on it wouldn't be legal tender!
  12. It should also come under "fair use" as you are referring to it, not passing it off as your own artwork. Haha... okay so I didn't think that anything post the redcoat sets was of much interest, also high school happened, and computer games, and various other collectibles. Castle & Space had a quality downturn in the mid 90s too, but not as bad. Lego sets were getting clunky in a really bad way, there was too much unneeded minifig printing detail and too many colours going on unnecessarily. It only got worse as the 90s went on.
  13. These were the golden years, and although I was really interested in Pirates for the first 5 or so years, most of the sets I had were from the first wave. (I was already into Castle & Space before this time, there was a lot of competition as time went on.) I only knew 1 person with any ships, I never saw one actually built (back then) - it was pretty much just demolished all over his bedroom floor. One school friend had the pirate base from the first year. Everything else I had to dream about while staring at the catalogues...
  14. The orange tail doesn't have purple on it for the same reasons the torsos don't have skin colours on them: so you can mix and match heads onto different minfigs. Of course, it does look strange with orange visible from all sides. I guess you could give it a cloth kama or skirt thing to mask it. So many of these are great customisable army builders. Bye-bye money...
  15. I too am using 'Minifig Scan' on Android. There was 1 person that reported having trouble with their (old) phone camera not focusing on the barcode, but that is the only trouble with it that I've heard of.
  16. I did however appreciate the less amount of room they took up. Trying to carry a whole bunch of boxes in your hands is a bit more effort than trying to carry a bunch of small packets!
  17. The banners are all getting a bit longer in the tooth, I don't think Hinckley is around these days. He never took too kindly to other people wanting to do these things either! I don't mind this particular one though.
  18. There's always Bricklink if all else fails.
  19. I finally saw some of these, at a Coles supermarket (not the one I usually go to, which still only has series 25). Used the excellent Minifig Scan app and was pleased to see that it worked no problem, and that I did not need to have phone data or wifi active to use it. Got one of everything I wanted, could've bought 2 or more of them except M:Tron. Don't like the Ice Planet helmet.
  20. There are no leaks or rumours at all, just hopes and speculation.
  21. 7 or 8 castle sets I was really interested in... 0 successes. I'll be saving some money, I suppose. Quite surprised that none of the wolf ones were picked.
  22. There are many magic rings in this world, and none of them should be used lightly
