Thanks for the names to the second photo. Still I'd like to know what is on the first of your photos (the minifigs which are complete) 40 complete figs - I'm stuck with 38 and can't figure out what I am missing.
-
I completely agree with you on your choice. It is still the best ship TLC ever produced! There seems to be a pattern for the best sets: a) Still assembled on your display at home and b) you want to have multiples of. a - check! Pimped with double cannons and more soldiers. (but nothing compared to your BW MOC) b - on the list of the things I should have done.

Yep! Luckily I bought three copies of the set, so now I have a decent train with three carriages. Photo is about to follow...

10 days to the event 10 years ago we had 2009. I browsed all 479 entries for 2009 and thought: Holy... how can I determine just one set to be the best? ...until I found this set: The Emerald Night (set 10194) clearly outdoes every other set just for the completely unexpected and wonderful train it is. It's a very highly detailed steam locomotive with a decent coal tender. The first (and only so far!) train which is NOT powered by the 'normal' train motor, but by the new PF XL-motor! The carriage is well done, too, but the lack of more carriages makes it a somehow unfinished set. But we know that already from TLC - and try to get hold of at least parts for at least 3 carriages, don't we? More remarkable entries / runner ups for 2009: Medieval market 10193 Republic Dropship with AT-OT Walker 10195 Galactic Enforcer 5974

Looking again and you're absolutely right, the last part is a 1x1 round brick! In this case I revise answer 1b) to no. It looks like it's the bottom of the round brick and no 1x1 round plate.

What a nice and extensive review, Jim! I always like the crisp photos and the hints to the moving features - and this modular building contains a lot! The build itself is not the top of the crop, but still a nice addition to the modular city. The small gimmicks on the printed bricks (Dr. Jones and the garage motto) add a lot to the overall feel of the set but not to the build itself. I also agree with the final verdict: 7 of 10 is an okay-ish grade for an okay-ish set.

I'm also looking for this particular pieces: 3626c 10113 or - all in bright pink 44363 or 28125 both in light flesh and these fellows: BatzarroBossk

It's 11 days until the event in Günzburg/Germany. The annual event countdown is about to start tomorrow. This year we will do a collaborative countdown.10 eventees will join the event for the full time, 2 more are chiming in on Friday, 12th. We will present you a (completely subjective) retrospect of the best set of the last 10 years, each day performed by another eventee. Tomorrow we start with the best set of 10 years ago: 2009! So stay tuned and feel free to post your comments here - even when you are not joining the event (why not, btw? ) !

1a) 62462 1b) yes 2) 18654 3) 20482 4) hard to determine what part you mean. I'd say it's 32016 5a) transparent 4740 5b) 4274

I second the request for the names of the colours to the figs. I sometimes struggle to name the correct colour. 42 complete minifigs in different colours is really impressive. EDIT: I just realized it's 'only' 40 complete figs.

Thank you very much for the information, I'll look out for it in Germany. The most problematic part is the feet imho. It's sometimes a pain in the ... to wipe the inner edges at the legs

Very cool!

@pantelis Please stop quoting large pictures. They don't add anything to the conversation. Thank you.

Err - no? I just placed them there and there they stay.

Eurobricks Event #15 Building Challenge
Holodoc replied to Skalldyr's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups

Obviously there is someone at TLC () who decided they could earn more money with this set. In my opinion the red Mini alone would easily sell more than three times to make up for the smaller price. But you can find a similar decision on this set, too: Count the AFOLs who buy this set for the white Porsche RSR. But here the contrast of the two cars is smaller, even the RSR has appeal. Then again you can easily download the building instructions for the red Mini and build it yourself (if there weren't so many exclusive parts... ). Let's be glad LEGO actually released a wonderful Mini.

I'm facing the same problems. I believe the topic starter has removed his online photos.

Hi Philipp and welcome to Eurobricks! That's quite a long dark age. So much the better you found your way back to the bricks and in here, too! You'll surely find a lot of Technic guys here. Have fun!

Three cheers for this!

Good news for you: I can give you two of each! Perfect would be, if you have these two minifigs: Queenie Goldstein and Newt Scamander Talking about Wizarding World and minifigs - I also collect the small papers in the CMF series showing all characters of the series. I missed out on one of the WW ones... Does anybody have a spare of this?

What counts is constructive feedback - and I'm open for that. You say 'many nonsense' and your points are: I wrote TLC. You could have referred to our own abbreviation manual, but Jim already gave you an external link which also points out the meaning of this abbreviation. Did you follow that link? I doubt it, because your answer was that Lego Company never existed. Is that so? Brickwiki says "In the late 1990's, the group changed it's official name to "The LEGO Company". So who is right? Whatever - that's not the point! It is a company and this abbreviation is therefore valid. Where is the nonsense? you disagree with my comments on stickers. That's okay. Nevertheless I made bad experiences and stick to what I wrote and I do not apply them. What's nonsense about this? You say dark green is the color of the real Dakar car. Okay, you may have noticed that other members before found this colour as well. There seem to be two variants of Mini Cooper Works buggies. What I found in the web was this page (sorry, in my native language), this one and this Youtube video titled "MINI John Cooper Works Buggy. Dakar Rally 2018", which lead me to the conclusion the original would be red. How could it not think this way? Now I even found there seems to be another third car in silver/blue. So what now? What's the 'real' colour? Green? Fine. Read my comments to that above. I have to problems to stand corrected. But again: Where do you see nonsense here? And you wonder why we don't appreciate your non-constructive feedback? Yeeezzz...
