Thanks for a nice little review on an also nice little set. I'm looking forward to get the set - if only I knew where to get it. Free promotional item? S@H doesn't show a result when looking for '30452'. Any other availability in Europe?

That alone made me think of a different set. No, not really. Of course -after 21042 from 2018 - it had to be 70840 Welcome to Apocalypseburg ! But with the Mustang being close behind. And I liked this fellas: - just for the pink spacedude! We all! Thank you very much for participating here and see you soon in lovely Günzburg!

Eurobricks event #15 Günzburg - information topic

Copmike and Peppy arrive at Stuttgart around noon so I expect to be in Günzburg around 2-3 o'clock p.m. -
Your choice represents some wonderful sets, but none of them would make it to my top10. The Hulkbuster looks brilliant, the other sets are still nice, but neither of the subthemes is ringing a bell in me. On the Brickset list of 2018 I didn't have to scroll far - my favourite is the incredible Statue of Liberty 21042. The tiny flaws in the set can easily be replaced with just a few extra bricks, but what you receive is the perfect rendition of the original, so much better than the old Statue 3450. 10261 Roller Coaster and 40290 60 years of the LEGO brick are my 2nd and 3rd place.

Oh yes - what a year in terms of LEGO sets! I agree with everything you wrote: All of the mentioned sets are terrific! If I had to choose just one, I would have gone for assembly square. I don't mind the buildings itself being rather small, the interior and the story the interior tells make more than up for it! And the 'square' itself needs space after all. The fishing store also is a true beauty. If you don't own it yet, go buy it! NOW! You won't ever regret it. The best ideas set so far. My Ninjago City is still MISB. I have to build it sometime and put it to the rest of my modular town.

A wonderful choice! Although I don't own it (lack of space once again...), it's cramped with lots of details and it really looks magnificent. @Redhead1982 You don't own it yet? I believe this will cost a fortune if you are trying to buy it now. Another set I just recently built was the great Technic Bucket Wheel Excavator 42055 - which was nice for having something complete different from the 'normal' Technis sets, but could have been so much better. Now I'm looking for a place to display it... (Did I already say that I'm lacking space? )

Review: 3450 Statue of Liberty Sculpture
Holodoc replied to Inconspicuous's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Not that reviving a 10 year old topic with the last entry being 6 years old seems a good idea, I nevertheless can answer your question: Actually all 4 slopes are used in the face, two of them are hidden! In the instructions the first two are used on step 59 (page 64), the ones visible on step 62 (page 67). -
Eurobricks event #15 Günzburg - information topic

I'm currently working on the program for Saturday in Munich. Is there interest for the BMW world? We can have a guided tour in English, called the 'compact tour' on Saturday at 15:30. Duration 1 hour, fees 7,50€ adults, 6,50€ students and the like. If we find a majority for this, I'd like to call them in advance to check if this works. The other options I mentioned earlier are on the list: Viktualienmarkt and the flea market. And I'm still undecided, if we should visit the Pasing LEGO store in the morning/midday. If some of you want to buy a particular set, an early visit promises more availability. But we can decide that on Thursday/Friday. The weather forecast doesn't look too bright, but what do they know? Sorry for replying so late. I checked the location and the one you mention is very close to the BMW world and Olympia Park. But there are also two more branches in Munich. -
Wohooo - this came unexpected! I have to admit all these themes with the new dolls (friends, elves, Disney) don't do it for me. I still prefer the classic colours closer to real life originals. For this reason I am disappointed that cool subthemes like amusement rides and so on from friends haven't been made in a classic city surrounding yet. One thing I'll say positively: These themes come with nice new parts! My best set (again) is a train one: 60098 (I know the number by heart) Heavy Haul Train The best cargo locomotive of all times! Real close to what is on rails in Germany. Two are even better. Temple of Airjitzu is really, really nice - but I doesn't fit to anything in my house and I lack space, so a no-buy for me. This was the year when I stopped buying every single CMF.

42082 Rough Terrain Crane 159€ I would have to order it from real.de, so if you are interested, hurry up - otherwise it may not rach me until Wednesday!

I'm not sure if the weight limit also counts for those big plates. We'll see. -
Done editing. A very good choice! This is indeed a fun build and a fun set. And I really like the cow as figurehead and eponym! The main reason I bought this set was for sea-sick-Kitty. But don't tell anyone. Another great movie set was Benny's spaceship 70816, but the Fairground Mixer 10244 is my favourite for starting a new subtheme - the amusement rides. 2014 also was the start of the Mixels.

REVIEW: 71024 LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Disney Series 2
Holodoc replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
Holy cow, what a summary of the new Disney figures! Thank you very much for doing another detailed and in-depth review, WhiteFang! When you think you actually should have minifigs, the new wave tells you better... I will surely won't buy all of them, but completing the ducks and the characters from the incredibles I can't resist. The most disappointing figs are the 'vintage' mice (honestly? vintage? Why on earth...?) and Louie because of his uninspired lamp. -
You learn every day! Thank you so much for showing me another way to search for parts on BL! I always went for '970c00' and found nothing. By the way it ends up with "nothing" if you follow the link of second entry (medium lavender hips and legs). There are no hips and legs in that colour - still 3 people sell them.
-
Nice selection! And the wonderful and detailed alternative builds exceed the expectations on this particular set, really well done, Lasse! TLC often produced such great (little) sets and imho these sets are the core of what LEGO is about: Endless creativity in building and rebuilding with the bricks you get with one set. A big HURRAY for Creator! I remember set 5867 Super Speedster from 3 years before your set. As always you got three models in one set, but Nathanael Kuipers and Mattis Zamboni stretched that set to an amazing 20 new models with their 2 books! and I bought that set just to build so many alternatives. 2013 I skipped the Highway Speedster. For 2013 my choice would have (obviously) been the Horizon Express!

Good to know! -
Yep, but still we don't know where the origin of this parts is and I have problems finding medium lavender hips on BL.
-
Don't ever tell an official @TLC about your behaviour...

Oh yes, Hobbiton. It actually also had a nice and affordable price tag for those beautigful parts and the many minifigs it came with. In general the LotR sets cam with fantastic new moulds and accessories, for example the wood-printed brown tile. I was able to get all of the LotR sets for a small amount of money. Every single minifig is a beauty of its own. They all share a place in a LotR picture frame displayed in my hall. And the Haunted House was another great set. I'm still thinking of converting it to a modular one day. And I wished I had searched for more copies of this guy: '
-
Got it, thanks! Okay - how did you manage to get hold of light flesh and medium lavender hips? That are the ones I'm still looking for.
-
Anybody interested? Currently on sale @Kaufhof 75954 Hogwarts Great Hall 74,99€ (RRP 99,99€)

Wasn't this the time when TLC introduced all the lovely new animals like the chicken, the pigs and the goats? One might argue from this time LEGO drove the playmobil way, but I love the animals nevertheless. I remember when we (Bonaparte, Snefroe, Aredhel and me) were driving to Billund, we passed a fuel station which still had this set on the shelf, in general it was sold out at that time. I also remember that we checked the set and price on our smartphones and that Bonaparte had a call with a friend whether to buy the set or not, but I don't recall the final decision. Maybe it's still on the shelf? Captains Cabin was also a nice little set with fantastic accessories like the globe and the bottles. I also liked The Alien Mothership 7065 - a real unusual build with sound and new track pieces (narrower curves!) A lot of fun to play with! Diagon Alley 10217 Maersk Train 10219 - I am a train guy, here I simply forgot to buy multiples of... and VW Camper Van 10220 - mine is still MISB. But one day...
-
Thank you. This was completely unintentionally, but nevertheless funny!
-
I checked again and you don't have to search. I would have used the legs, but not the hips. Guess I have to wait until medium lavender hips are finally produced.
