I love the sound of Ace, and it'll be really cool to get a Starfire minidoll! I have a harder time justifying the SHG sets since the figure parts aren't terribly useful outside of their own environment, but the minidolls I do want are always so nice, and the builds are really solid, too! I wish the main line would take a few notes from them in terms of making detailed locales without blowing up the budget. I really dig the Nightwing Micro, and I think his torso could be great for a Teen Titans Nightwing (those designs have a lot less muscle definition). The Supergirl set is a must-have, both for the Bottled City of Kandor and the new color for her hair piece (I believe?). The Batman/Harley set is an all-too-easy pass, unless there's some fantastic detail I'm missing, or his head will work for my Doctor Mid-Nite minifig about as well as the first MM Batsy's would. That's a lot of parts that haven't been used in that combo before for it to just be preliminary. Even if it's not the final design, it does seem pretty indicative of Damian, which is really interesting to me. DC seems to be phasing out Tim and even Dick as the default Robins in merchandising. I'm not sure I like that.

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
That head looks a lot less Ben Reiley and a lot more Homecoming DIY suit. If the colors weren't backwards I'd assume it WAS the Homecoming suit. I'm not sure any of these are a must-buy for me from the Marvel side. All these characters have been done before and none of their parts seem super useful otherwise. I do love the Sandman build, giving him a little dumptruck is adorable, and I think if we get a better look at the printing on Loki I might want him more. They do still have the CMF lizard suit pieces laying around, that could work for his head and tail if they didn't want to make new pieces. I'd be pretty comfortable with either, though. When it comes to Spidey big bads and bigfigs, I'm only ride or die for a big Venom.- 5,808 replies

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I would absolutely love to have another Green Lantern set. It's such an untapped property and it really fits Lego's MO. I just wonder if the lack of any Lantern action in the Justice League movie (and the dismal toy sales from the Ryan Reynolds movie) are what's keeping Lego from doing another one. I'd bet that DC is more interested right now in fostering the public recognition of Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman than Hal, John, Kyle, or Guy, but I hope that I'm wrong. It is a little frustrating that we get the entire League in this wave save for Aquaman (who's got his own movie-based set) and Green Lantern. -

So glad to hear that we're getting the Wonder Twins, and Jor-El sounds great, too!! I'm a little bothered by the Killer Moth inclusion, just because that would make it the 3rd version of him we've seen in two years, which is a bit excessive for him. Was Zod even on screen in the Lego Batman Movie? I don't remember ever seeing him, just hearing him. Clock King'll make for a great addition, too! I'm hoping we get the other 3 Super Friends characters this way, too, sinc El Dorado is coming in the JL Party set. It'd be nice to see Cyborg in there, too, since he's the only other figure from that scene with new printing. More than anything, though, I hope the Wonder Twins are equally common. I'd hate to have one and not the other (although I suppose I could replace Zan with a bucket of water...) -

It's possible, although he doesn't lend himself terribly well to playsets. Scarface and Hush are just both more eye-catching and have been in pretty high demand since this wave started. I mean, they certainly couldn't do him to scale, probably something about the size of a croissant piece, but that's assuming they'd do a new mold rather than some clever bricking. None of our Green Lantern builds or Invisible Jets so far have been entirely translucent, so I doubt that'll change now. I'd love to see a Guy Gardner minifig, too, though! I wouldn't be surprised if our next Green Lantern isn't a human one, though. Looking at similar toy companies, it would be pretty well within reason for us to get Kilowog next. I would be pretty curious as to who our next human Lantern will be, though, since there're now 4 options, 2 of which are getting a big publishing push right now. We thought that the year we got the Deathstroke set and Jokerland, too. Just when you count the Bat out, he swoops right back in! I just hope the next Batman wave will have some updates of older figures. I'd like to get a black and white Two-Face and a black Catwoman with that new mask mold. It does look like they're getting comfy selling sets that aren't just Batman-related now, so long as there's a Leaguer in there, so we'll probably see another couple of general sets before we get another Batman wave (especially with the Lego Batman Movie sets not only still being on shelves but getting another big wave). -
Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation

I'd call them inevitable. Hush and Scarface have been too demanded to ignore, especially for Batman villains who are both on Lego's radar thanks to the games. This is probably not the forum for this discussion, being pretty exclusively movie-related and all, but I think Mr. Mind would have me more excited than Sivana or Adam. It's about time we get a truly out-there villain, imo. Captain Nazi might be a tougher sell, but he'd certainly be a timely pick. Come to think of it, I'd really love to see what Lego would do with Mr. Mind. He's already appeared a time or two on JLA, so he's not out of the question. -

I'd say given the design for Mxy is pretty impossible with hair molded on the side of his head and a smaller version of an existing hat that this isn't indicative of that at all. Actually, I think one of Lego's illustrators said outright once that they just make up designs when they use a character that isn't in Lego form already. This was a big discussion on the main DC forum back when that promo art of an expanded Justice League with Black Canary and Red Tornado and a bunch of other guys came out. If anything helps Mxy's chances, it's his recent JLA and Supergirl appearances, and the fact that he's one of the last super-duper-major Superman villains to get the minifig treatment. I can't even imagine what that set would look like though Actual sets for both seem pretty likely, too. DC's done far fewer event movies that warrant huge lines of sets than Marvel has, and have fewer movies coming out, so it's pretty likely that we'll get at least 2 sets for every upcoming movie aside from Suicide Squad 2. -
I know people have suggested the new hood from the CMF Ninjago series for Green Arrow already, but it's specifically PERFECT for GA's Justice League Action design. Not sure if any torsos match up too well, but the hood sure as heck does!
-
Great stuff as always, autorazr!! Especially digging the Doom Patrol stuff! What torso and legs are you using for Doctor Strange?
-
A lot of people have been making a big deal about the table in that concept art, but I think it's funny that it only has three chairs. I guess Batman perches in the corner and Cyborg's too hardcore to sit? I think if it's taken this much debate to make any sort of argument for Aquaman's chestplate being green, it only proves that the gold was the right choice for such a small-scale thing.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don't expect it to be accurate to that degree, but I'd want it to adhere to Wayne Manor's defining features, i.e. not attached to other buildings or taller than it is wide.If we get a modular set in that regard, I'd rather it be the police station. Neat! Reggae Bat means a nice Robin torso variant, new arm and leg prints, and a new cowl mold! The Firestarter's red cowl should come in handy, and if the space suit uses that helmet piece it should mean we get a pretty interesting head print for Batsy's masked face! -
Aw man, I'm glad to see someone else trying him! I've been trying to figure him out for awhile! The problem is, there are almost no heads in any shade of pink. Basically, you've got Vision's head, Sinestro's head, or a blank head. At least, that's all I've found in BrickLink's catalog. If you come up with anything, though, I'd love to see it!
-
"Purist" refers to figures that use exclusively official, unmodified Lego pieces. Basically, if you can't build the figure and then put all the pieces back in the sets they came from without any difference, it's not purist.

Gwenpool is only related to Deadpool in her real-world origin. In the comics, she comes from our universe and is therefore fully aware she's in a comic (and doesn't even read Deadpool, for that matter). She's not even derivative of Gwen Stacy. It's interesting to me that Cosmo's model bears a striking resemblance to the upcoming Krypto figure. Think this is a sign of things to come or that they just got to see all the new parts early? From the trailer it looks like we'll be getting an improved version of the team-up moves from Avengers, which should be pretty great! I loved that idea, but it seemed too limited before. This looks a lot better. I also really hope we get a physical version of that Wasp! Great minifig right there!

Isn't the point of modular buildings that they connect physically? Wayne Manor is a mansion. It doesn't even get close to any other buildings. Why would they make it modular? How would they make it modular and still look anything like the one from the movie? -
I think it would be pretty cool to see them use the LBM hair but in a different shade of green. I'd put money on the usual Joker hair in its usual color (or maybe the '66 Joker hair, if they've still got some of those laying around) Actually, I bet the head print on that figure might make for a nice bomb or weapon or something for the usual Joker, like those old Joker Gas bombs from the classic Batman line!

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
All Bizarro needs is his "#1" sign removed, and Shazam could just as easily have his hair replaced with a hood, boot molding, arm printing, or a different (not even necessarily new) facial print and still be marketably distinguishable from the SDCC version. Heck, our Green Arrow is just the SDCC one with the hood down, hair, and less printing. -
Me too! I think it's just corny enough for a toy Superman. I'm glad we have the more stern option, but I'd much rather my Superman smile. I think it would be a little creepier if he didn't look as angry with the laser eyes, honestly I think it would be nice to get a print that looks like he's using his often-ignored freeze breath, just so we have the full gambit! It's kinda weird to me that we haven't had a bank vault robber in this theme yet. Marvel got an ATM robbery, and we had the Two-Face set where he's stealing a safe from a bank, but no love for the time-honored tradition of supervillains robbing actual vaults of valuables. That needs to change. I'm curious as to how they'll make a third unique Batman for the Mighty Micros line, but I'm really excited to see the Nightwing v Joker set. I can't imagine Joker not looking pretty fun, and I bet Nightwing will have some neat prints to work with!

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'd find it really odd, honestly, if we don't get a new sidekick next year. We've got Young Justice coming back, the new Titans show, more Teen Titans Go, and it looks like Kid Flash is going to continue to be a major player on the Flash this season, so teen heroes seem like they'll be in chique next year. I'm betting on Kid Flash and Raven popping up somewhere in the line if I'm right on that aspect. Of course, we could always see another batch of JLA-adjacent sets, likely with Shazam, Plastic Man, Booster Gold (that Ms. Marvel body is still just laying around, after all), and Zatanna, if I were to guess. Of course, it might also be time to reissue Hawkman, Martian Manhunter, and Brainiac. Or, they could go with a Rebirth push, with Atom, the two new Lanterns, and maybe the Super Sons. I'd say a recycling of the new prints will be in order, and maybe even a new Superman print to match. (We still haven't gotten a proper set with Bizarro, who's one of the last big Superman villains..?). Or, there's the ever-faithful Batman and Friends structure, where we'll just get a bunch of Batman sets with probably a new Joker release, maybe Harley, and a villain someone actually wants like Mad Hatter or Ventriloquist, with one or two worthy side-heroes like Spoiler, another Robin variant, or someone unexpected like Blue Beetle was last year. That seems less likely, though, as it might interfere with their Lego Batman Movie line. That's a lot of possibilities, a few of them maybe a little too wishlist-y or optimistic, but those seem to match up the best with what DC as a whole is doing with their marketing right now as far as I'm concerned. -
...I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that no version of that script involved a fire-breathing lawnmower That's such a shame, honestly. I think both designs are pretty rad, but I don't think I'm alone in saying that I'd really like to have an accurate DCEU Ares. I don't know how they would, but if they ever bring him back, he'd better make it into a set at minifig scale with the right helmet.

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm with you, but I'm pretty doubtful that we'll ever get a Lockjaw. That's a whole new mold that will never be used for anything else. Unless he really does become crazy popular (likely the only thing from that show that could) I wouldn't hold my breath. I guess maybe if they carry Lockjaw over into whatever they do with Ms. Marvel (because obviously they're gonna give her a show or a movie at some point) he could show up for a tie-in set or two. I'd say Black Bolt is more likely, either way, since his figure would be simple, he's the central character, and he's already in the cartoon. Y'all are savage and I love it- 5,808 replies

This would be a great opportunity to release the Symbiote costume, honestly. I doubt they would, but it would be the best way to do it, since it's already a pretty simple design. It'll be nice to get Sandman, since I missed out on him last time. I'm anxious to see how they simplify Star-Lord's helmet, and I get the feeling that the Thor vs Loki set will have some neat pieces. I'm pretty okay with all of this, honestly.- 5,808 replies
