Thank you two. Glad to see the color comp was generally well received. I wanted to do it anyway as an experiment, but if I were to redo this, I would take out a color. Also arises a question, how many colors before something gets ugly? There is no straight answer of course, but I may challenge this area again sometime in the future.

Caught this deal at another forum, but not here first! Surprised there wasn't a standalone thread, but this thread works too. Went to my local K-Mart today and the only ones I could find were (3) Undercover Cruisers. I bought (2) and left one for another lucky soul. Northern Kentucky (Newport) if anyone is interested. I collect some Space Police 3 so I was excited. The full list courtesy of ToyNBricks I think: K-Mart: * 91% off – Power Miners Claw Catcher $3 (reg.$34.99) * 85% off – Prince of Persia Ostrich Race $3 (reg.$19.99) * 90% off – Prince of Persia The Fight for the Dagger $3 (reg.$29.99) * 94% off – Prince of Persia Quest Against Time $3 (reg.$49.99) * 90% off – Space Police Undercover Cruiser $3 (reg.$29.99) Target: * Atlantis Neptune Carrier $30 (reg.$59.99) * Atlantis Portal of Atlantis $50 (reg.$99.99) * 70% off – City Corner $14.98 (reg.$49.99) * City Airport $50 (reg.$99.99) * Kingdoms King’s Castle $50 (reg.$99.99) * Prince of Perisa Battle of Alamut $40 (reg.$79.99) * Space Police Central $40 (reg.$79.99) * Star Wars Clone Walker or Assassin Droids Battle Pack $6 each (reg.$11.99) * Star Wars Battle of Endor $50 (reg.$99.99) * World Racers Blizzard Peak $30 (reg.$59.99) I went by one Target looking for a Battle of Alamut, they had them but they scan at full price. Your mileage may vary. I plan to check another Target tomorrow...

Very nice review, pics and fun comics... except (and I see it fairly commonly) a lot of your pics have "artifacts" or graphical glitches, ie. red pixels in them! You can see them in most pictures that have black parts. It could be your editing, camera settings, or the way you are saving your photos. It's a shame because your pics and review are great otherwise. Try to look into this next time. EDIT: Oooookay, never mind me, I guess. I saved one of your photos then opened it and I see no bad pixels. Maybe it's a browser problem on my end. Forgive me?

Been quite a while since I posted on this thread (money is tight being between jobs - starting a new one soon though) but I couldn't resist Target's after holiday sale. Picked up these three at 50% off: 5982 Smash'n'Grab $10 8075 Neptune Carrier $30 7097 Troll's Mountain Fortress $50 Sooo... that's my LEGO for quite a while, but this was my holiday cash gifts to pay for these. I'll spread opening and building them out over a few months. Although I still later this year will be picking up the Atlantis temple and the four smallest Ninjago sets when I get up to the LEGO store. Happy bargain hunting, friends!

Well, there are certainly some Futuron fans on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/groups/neofuturon/ Some Futuron is on my "To-MOC" list, but it'll be a while...

Interesting, although not what I expected. I expected that if the rich were the car owners then they would favor lush, lavish, luxury vehicles. This is the opposite to me, a highly detailed, gadgets and engines everywhere, technical vehicle. It's primary function is not looks. But how can I say how things look in your theme / world? Nonetheless, I like it. If I ofter some criticism, I'm not quite sure on the front dish. Maybe something else would look better. No lights on the front? There are some but they seem blocked by the dish. Also you have a nice side mirror detail, but it looks like the side walls are not opaque, so the driver couldn't see the mirrors? (May be miss-seeing your side shot.) Also is there a door to get in? Happy new year.

Killer mech. Nice articlulation and grabbing / holding functions! But I will agree that the color scheme, while good in itself, does not invoke Space Police's color schemes. That's fine though, it could be an Space SWAT theme... I see the use as this - alien is hidden in hideout, do we send in the ground SP forces? Nay, send in the SWAT! This knocks down the side wall of the hideout and grabs him. Or, if you are in the mood for a re-color I think a Space Police 1 color scheme is not too far off from what you have...

Thanks KielDaMan! I'll have to brainstorm some more uses for my froggie...

Good lord, this is a pretty nice looking set! It has some real raw attractive quality, that gets close to "city modular" aesthetic to me. I haven't gotten into MOCcing Town yet as an AFOL (I certainly have enough vintage pieces, though) but this is making me want to try! I may have to pick this one up. I still want the very lovely City House from last year as well. They would be a nice push for me to start a Town project. Oh well, nuff about me. This review was awesomely done. Thanks for the review!

More firsts for myself, I think - first speeder bike, first contest entered, first Frogspace MOC... Had a couple of minor goals here. I do a lot of two color creations so I wanted to try a few colors instead. With a try at a frogspace creation, maybe an water like palette would be keen, so light and dark bleys, aqua blue, dark blue, trans. light blue and trans. dark green are all here. Features include an aquarium with rock feature, control panel, plant and animal food for the pilot, lock system to maintain water in entry, environmental filtering system, and rear lighted boarding ramp. Technical features include front and rear flaps for air brake and turning functions, two lasers, side air intakes, windscreen for improved air flow, and two engines for thrust and turning. Entered for the "Lego Speeder Bike" contest here: Flickr group Aquarizoom! by TheWarden007, on Flickr You can hit the higher res photo for a little more detail here at my Flickr album! But if you like MOCPages it's there too. If you want to see more "Frogspace" then you can certainly look here: Flickr group Thanks for reading and looking. Comments / constructive criticism welcome.

Those pics on the first page... huge... I gave up on them after a few minutes and browser nearly crashing. I think I saw a arm. Should edit those to the forum guidelines, you know... Anyway, found your Flickr. Incredible work man. Lovely greebs, nice shaping, the technical feat of building that big!
-
Neat! I really like your second photo b/c it invokes a "Titanic" scene. Nice work. I guess it could be bigger though.

Hey, better late than never! Especially for classic sets without reviews. The set is pretty decent. Nice pieces for MOCS. The Blacktron symbol "castle wall pieces" - trans. red wedge plates - these are a bit rare. The set itself? Sleek, nice color scheme, fun robot, playable cargo piece, what's not to love?
-
Wow, I get interesting vibes from this - cyberpunk, future-shock, "Blade Runner-esque," apocalypse future... I could probably sling buzz words all day. There are some neat details, but to the criticisms - the pictures are not that good. If you still have this, try some pics with natural of artificial light. The MOC is better than the pics let us see.
-
Neat set, though I do have to ask the more knowledgeable (or inventive) persons out there... is there any advantages, (tactical, space-oriented, construction, etc.) to have wings that can be rotated to a vertical position in a spacecraft? I'm a sci-fi builder myself, but drawing a blank here.

Forgive me if the answer is obvious as I have searched here and the current sales thread, but are there any sales for the Prince of Persia Battle of Alamut set this end-of-year-season? It seems POP is discounted at many places, and indeed I went by my local LEGO store yesterday and most of the POP line was 50% off - except the big one - BOA. I'd love to buy it at 50%. Come to think of it, I'll ask my store if it should be on sale with the rest of them tomorrow. Otherwise, on sale elsewhere? Thanks.
-
Exquisite! Do you have larger pics elsewhere (you mention Flickr)? I'd like to look at the details. Otherwise, the building is great with lots of rustic detail and you display a knack for forest greenspaces.

REVIEW: 2260 Ice Dragon Attack
TheWarden replied to Dunjohn's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for this nice review! I definitely want this. It may be a little scrumpy in the body area, but have you heard of the "rule of cool?" Certainly, this set gets a few extra points here. It's a white ninja riding a fricken ice dragon fighting a skeleton with a jester's cap and gold shurikens?!? What else can you ask for? The price is good too. I still hope to get all the small sets in this wave for a ninja of each color and a small skeleton army. The total price for the smaller ones isn't too bad. -
Man! That's pretty close to perfection. Respect to all credited AFOLs. Only weird thing (LEGO's fault) that comes about, is is you use "kid" minifigs (the short legs) then kids are standing, and that's not good. We will pretend it's a high school bus and use regular mini-fig legs then, shall we?
-
Aside from the one Lightning pic, are there any other pictures? I haven't seen any, so how can people be saying the whole theme is meh already? If this was a different forum I visit, they would be warned / infracted, I would think. Seriously people, if you can judge a whole theme on set names, well, you must work for LEGO since you have inside knowledge. Less crap posts, more smart speculation, please. EDIT: No "back seat modding" was intended, sorry.

Meijers Clone Battle Packs $5.00
TheWarden replied to BoobyToy's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Good lord, you must be an army builder. I never understand you guys, but each to their vice. Thanks for the info, I'll have a look at the parts list. I imagine the Assassin Droid BP are / were on sale as well? They are the pair. -
Review: 7985 Temple of Atlantis
TheWarden replied to Etzel's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I think that if this is my only LEGO purchase next year, I'll be happy. A look at the piece list reveals a lot of new stuff to me that I want to get my grubby MOCcing paws on. I own no Atlantis, but this may be the first. Thanks for the well done review. -
For those wanting... nay NEEDING better minifig pics, I think they are in the SW2011 Sets thread. Here's the far right Jedi: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44510&st=4470 Sorry, could have sworn the far left left Jedi was in there, but can't find it now.

Howdy! Looks like a nice start to a theme you don't usually do. A couple easy notes of advice: - Try some wall techniques to avoid "big grey wall syndrome" via here: http://www.classic-castle.com/howto/articles/biggraywall.html It has some tactics like wall color variation, texture variation, shape variations and ways to break up the wall surface to make it look more interesting and real. - Try some roof overhangs. It's more realistic and looks nicer, and is very common rather than flush with the vertical wall surface. That is, overang it on the sides and the ends, AKA the gutter ends. - Got a green baseplate? It makes the MOC look a bit dull when all is one color. A green one means you can add details like small hills, grass, trees, flowers... maybe a cemetary, bench, etc. Walkways are another option. That's all I have for you for now, although there is lots of "How-To"s at Classic Castle that you can browse when you get time. Have fun.
