  1. Not too much to say though, but funny, unique, and something I haven't seen before. Nice work.
  2. "Is very nice." I kid, but anyway, these are nice! I was confused to see color bricks through the windows. What is that? Part of your floor? Structure? It looks a bit odd. On one building I see curtains, the other building, I don't follow. Might try some A/C units on the top to add some detail. Burger is fun, but maybe tan for the bun instead of orange. Is it too late for basework? I'd like to see the sidewalk areas wider. Not much room for mini-figs or a streetscape (trees / planters / hydrant / etc.) Such details would make it more lively and interesting. The single plate window on the roof area looks odd too. Too skinny, maybe the sides need to be a brick width to look better. Well, these are all me being nit-picky. Nice work in CC/Modular style all in all.
  3. Needs "moar" as they say on the internets. Yeah, take a look at some recent reviews here either by looking in the recent pages of each forum, the frontpage, or each forum's Review "sticky" as the top of the forum. We have a very nice style of review that is very common here; There is usually box pics, a pic of all the pieces laid out, rare / interesting pieces, the extra piece shot, a sample page of the instructions, build pics (done + a progress shot(s) if interesting) and sometimes a parting / humor pic. Granted, a lot of that may not apply to small sets like this. We even have a reviewer's academy that has "courses" in doing good reviews like I explain. Anyway, welcome to forums. Don't forget to read all the rules. Make a "introduce myself" post in that forum if you'd like.
  4. Oh, this is like I died and went to Futuron / Explorien heaven. Great flashback for 90's era Space. How many monorail sets are needed for that amount of tracks? Or did they sell tracks standalone back then? I forget if I ever knew. Looking forward to more.
  5. Wow! This is awe-inspiring. Very creative with a literature tie. The bottom with the domes... I was thinking that was all there is, yet it becomes my favorite part. The stars and the moon are clever too. Sorry no critiques as it looks great. The top of the building, maybe, looks a little rough or not right to me though. Maybe a rework of that or some different architectural roof edge treatment might look better. A different style of parapet, maybe smaller trans-clear or open windows(attic). Hope to see more from you!
  6. Superb use of the ol creepy bear!
  7. Hrm, okay. Well we have a whole forum for LEGO Uni here http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showforum=89 so check that out. Don't forget if you aren't allowed to talk about LU (per LU's beta terms and conditions - if they do state such a thing, I haven't been following LU) then don't...
  8. Oooo, is that side-leg printing I see? Not too common.
  9. Thanks, LT, McK, and Dan! It was a fun build. Never done snow before... Now, I must wrack my brain for some more ninja ideas. But first back to space...
  10. The only thing (that is useless in MOCS) that comes to mind for me are the parts without studs, holes, or connection points. I can't find a use for all my discs (from the disc flicker), Jack Stone figs, technic comp missiles, and Zamor spheres! (Though I'm working on using 2 spheres in a sci-fi engine, so there.)
  11. While I admire your drive, if you are receptive to feedback... - It's fairly ugly. - Spelling errors about - "calendar" - Try clean looking fonts, not the "Disney" font and not MSPaint squiqqles - Very pixellated images - No original content, like MOCS, reviews, blog entries or such? If you have a bit of computer know how, try a free image editor. I recommend the GNU Image Editing Program aka the "GIMP." It's not too difficult for basic tasks such as creating font graphics, resizing pics and the stuff you'd need to do. The manual is fairly easy to understand. Image editing is a great knowledge set to have anyway and you can use it for your own photos, MOC photos, more pro programs like Photoshop, etc.

    My House

Guys! Don't forget to check the dates! This thread is two years old. I doubt he's still working on this...
  13. .. For five years on this date, Ryo Heiyashi of the Grey Clan has journeyed to Seizan Peak to meditate on his late master. Slain in combat from behind, he was branded with the mark of the dishonorable Blaque Clan. The act struck at the heart of his family, village, friends and fellow ninja; in turn, he has sought out the wisest of the wise of the region, trained rigorously, and fought constantly to right the wrongs of the Blaque Clan - except this day. No, not today, this day is for remembrance. He would have his retribution of his sensei's murderer in due time. Reaching the snow packed peak where his master's ashes now rested (he loved the view so much in life, Ryo saw it fit to entomb him here), he brushed away a layer of snow and folded his cloak down to rest. Lighting a small pyre, Ryo begins his meditation... ... I've been really wanting to use some of my not too wide LEGO Ninja collection, so perhaps a little vignette to warm up. I'm not much of a writer, so please excuse the story above for grammar, historical inaccuracies, etc - it's meant to set up the mood and the background. I intended to go farther with the little story, but I'd rather leave it open-ended for the viewer to interpret. So just like a LEGO playset, YOU determine the rest of the story. (I couldn't help making one action shot at the end, though.) The best way to view this (so I don't have to resize everything) is with the higher res photos and tagged items here at my Flickr album! But if you like MOCPages it's there too. A teaser shot (sized for EB) here: Hope you enjoyed and thanks for looking!
  14. Oooo, fun! First time I think I've seen the whole layout. What to build next you say? If you want to enlarge, maybe: - IGA becomes food oriented and gets bigger. Then you can do "A' below. - Something becomes two floors. Gives a bit of visual height interest to the town. If you want new types of buildings, maybe: - bar - small "hole in the wall" restaurant - pharmacy (or druggist) gotta get your meds somewhere - small town hall with an office and receptionist - 'A' - General store, you know, toiletries and catch-all - small town park. Benches for people to eat lunch, walk their dog (as you did), maybe a town statue or memorial That's all that crosses my mind for now. It's been fun watching your town evolve. As you say... "I'm a conformist!!"
  15. Bookmarked! I was kinda in the same situation. A few years back I started to collect newer LEGO. I followed LEGO quite a bit as a child with bookcases full of built sets sitting for... like 15 years. Went back to the family house one day, and started taking them apart piece by piece and got several of the those huge zip-up (like bed-sheet size) bags. Took them home. Months of cleaning sittings later.... then weeks of sorting later (still never done) then... been able to MOC for the first time about 6 months ago. Hope you have fun with your project!
  16. And now... I've seen everything. Considering how rare pink and purple is... it's kinda neat.
  17. You are an unstoppable MOCcer recently, LT. Nice work at a nice scale. I had to look up "roo-bar." Now I know what that is...
  18. I haven't bought a Town set in probably 15 years.... and I really, really want this one. I think that speaks volumes. Not sure exactly what appeals to me, but it's cute, picturesque, a decent size and variety of bricks, landscape, fun. It just has a lot of homeliness. Outta words. I really like it and hope to pick it up.
  19. Thanks for the comments! Well, off to go build something else I reckon. I have a Blacktron 3 MOC started, I'll have to get back on that.
  20. I like it. Though to be critical, it looks strange to me without a roof area. I have the image of a well with a roof over it to keep out leaves, sun, etc. Don't most wells of this sort have these?
  21. Kick-Megablocks! I love smash-ups and this is no exception. I could be a bit critical; it looks like it could use some color detail to make it pop. A streak of white maybe or haveya got any pink?
  22. Now that is just gravy - 1000x better than the official set. I don't care much for the original set (though I do love Spyrius) but I love this. The wheel base actually looks functional and the Bionicle pieces are a nice touch. The greeblage on the back is great too!
  23. That is a killer! Blocky in a good way, full of customizable areas, tough, what's not to love. Clean it and fit it with the missing windsceen and A+ is for you.

    My city cars

4-wide goodness. Keep up the good work!
  25. Awesome build... but horrible pictures. (I see the date) If you still have it, some better pics will do better justice to this. I think a lot more details can come out.
