Nice and simple, just how I like it! Beorn's torso, is it? That might be the only piece I don't have there.... And the legs I suppose, though I have similar ones. Maybe I'll have to finally make use of an extra Stark head. Or we could just get Kraven in a summer set. That would be good, too. :P

The point about the clumsy guy's cast. That web printing is very very possible -
Doesn't work. All you can see through the eyeholes is the top bit of his mask and his forehead. Meanwhile, I snagged a couple pics of new stuff... First off my CW Arrow 'figs: Arsenal, Green Arrow, and the new addition: Merlyn! I don't have that Luke face, but this works just fine with the mouth covered, IMO. If I do pick up that Luke face I'd probably switch the mask out for a hood. And then I've got a SHIELD Agent (the guy who wouldn't launch the Helicarriers in WS and subsequently was on the Helicarrier Bridge in AoU) and a SHIELD Spec Ops guy like Rumlow and his buddies in WS. ACU torso and Lego Movie Robo-Cop legs make for a pretty dang good 'fig if you ask me, and the best part is: neither has any words/logos printed on them!

I see no reason we wouldn't get at least one set with the Spider-Man movie. Aside from the fact that he's obviously Lego Marvel's favorite, I can't see there being any licensing issues. Lego's all buddy-buddy with Marvel, and they got the rights for ASM via Sony, albeit a bit too late to do anything with them. The only thing is that somewhere in here, Marvel will be releasing three movies a year instead of just two. I don't know how likely we are to get a full wave from the biggest movie each year as well as a single set for each of the two "smaller" movies. I also don't know what else is coming out the same year as Spidey, off the top of my head. But again, he's a favorite so it stands to reason we'd get at least one set. Edit: Looks like it comes out in a year and a half, between GotG2 and Ragnarok. I would be shocked if we didn't get a set for the first (I'm expecting another full wave, considering how well the first movie did.) and I'd be very disappointed if we didn't get a set for Ragnarok. I want more Asgardians! I could see them upping the size of the spring/summer wave and splitting it between GotG and Spidey, maybe. Marvel's 3-a-year schedule has them releasing in May and July by the looks of things, so the sets could plausibly come out at about the same time. Regardless of any scheduling issues: Superheroes is an Evergreen theme, now. It's only going to get bigger from here. -

Yay for more Spidermen! Quick question: do both sides of Falcon's head have the goggles..? Or am I going to need to splurge on BL to get the only other decent reddish-brown head with a goatee from that $40 Jurassic World set? -
Thanks... Unfortunately, yeah, as he explains in his description, the arms are painted. They would have made a nice addition, but oh well.
-
Did I see an MCU Falcon in here recently with dual-molded black/brown arms (or maybe grey) for short-sleeves? I'm not finding the arms anywhere... If they exist, where are they from? Or am I just imagining things entirely?

Wouldn't the black Kryptonian legs work well for Black Panther? Not too much detail, but transitions from the silver printing to the blank black pretty well. I suppose we'll have to wait to see how the lines would align. As for the headpiece, no, it doesn't look horrible... I don't see why they couldn't curve the edge down a tad to get rid of that annoying gap, though :/ --Or even better, just have a new head mold entirely with the stud and the ears. Just as reuseable for White Tiger and Daredevil. Still definitely getting all the sets, unless I can't find the money for Crossbones's jeep and just order him and Falcon separately. I want all the 'figs, though. As for Giant-Man, yeah they tend to use stickers unless they're planning on using the same design in multiple sets, I'm afraid. I'm sure he'll need some touching up to look proper from behind, but you really can't complain about how good he looks when you consider Groot and the Sentinel... -

Purple Hawkeye...? Was that actually confirmed? Please??? I'm assuming some nuclear byproduct/weapon or whatever. It's his "Hazardous Heist," no? -

I just saw that one of the demons from Nexo Knights so happens to have a new shoulder-armor mould that looks an awful lot like Jafar's to me... I wouldn't be surprised at all if we got him with that piece.- 4,155 replies

Like I said, I expect they would give him one, but a normal turban would still make a perfectly recognizable character.- 4,155 replies

They wouldn't have to make a new mold for normal Jafar if that were seriously an issue. Which it isn't. Nearly every CMF has a new mold in the first place. I'm sure they'd give him a new, pointier turban though, and/or a new shoulder-armor piece.- 4,155 replies

Honestly, I'd expect Giant Man to show up in a trailer somewhere in here (assuming they release a second one. Which I just realized... there's only been one Civil War trailer, hasn't there? o_O ) While I prefer tan or dark tan, Chris Evan's hair really is slightly reddish blonde (depending on the camera angles), so I can understand the use of nougat. I don't like the design of the new hairpiece for Cap anyways, so I'm fine with continuing to give him dark tan Mutt's hair (It's so unfortunate they only made that piece in tan in a single CMF... Which I picked up, and that ended up being the one I gave to my friend <_<) Prelim art is clearly all Lego has ever had to go off of. They have to design the sets too far in advance to worry about the characters being that degree of accurate, as evidenced by Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch. Both had hairpiece issues that were fixed for their second Minifig appearance. If we get another Vision, which I'm sure we will eventually--even if we have to wait for Infinity War--I'm sure the stone color will be fixed. -

Ouch, only 7 BL stores in Japan? Is international shipping any cheaper between other countries in Asia, rather than, say, the US? I know I tend to stick to US stores when I can, so I can totally understand why BL doesn't look as plausible to you. That sucks :/ -
The reason I wanted to use trans-yellow was to represent the speed force, as it's often shown as little sparks of lightning running along his body. I'll probably try it with solid yellow, though, if you think the half-and-half looks funny.
-
Thanks guys! I'm looking forward to MOCing a race or something with the 2 or them. Obviously I could do it longer outside the context of the chess board, but I kindof like how easily I can pick it up and put it elsewhere.

Unfortunately I don't think Falcon's wings will actually bend like that. To me, anyways, the piece in the set looks more like the wings on comic falcon that were a single solid piece. -
As you can see I'm waiting on my white tiles, but meanwhile... I wanted to have Quicksilver and Flash in running poses, but on one leg they came off of their base rather than picking it up with them. So I had to get creative. Waiting on a Dark Azure 1x3 curved slope for the far back, and I'll hopefully find another black 1x1 tile for directly behind Quicksilver's leg. Flash's could use a tad more of the trans-yellow, IMO, but I think it looks okay, for having to stay roughly within the 6x6 area. :)

Buying PF?
JaseTJ replied to JaseTJ's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Can you not use Lego's RCs in bright sunlight...? Does it mess with the IR sensors or something? I'm definitely not planning to get an SBrick at the beginning due to it's extra cost alone, plus I'm more of a purist... I don't know how I really feel about using non-Lego. If Lego's stuff felt lacking I'd be more likely to look into it, but that requires buying Lego's first Also, don't be surprised if you guys see me back here late this summer asking about gearboxes and stuff... I'm intending on waiting to get the PF until I can save up for the Helicarrier as well, without having to buy it all on credit or emptying my account :P -
Buying PF?
JaseTJ replied to JaseTJ's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I hadn't much considered the ease of attachment; that could end up being the big decider. I'll probably start with the M motors and that battery, then, and only get the others if I have a specific need for them at some point. :) As for weight of the battery boxes, I could see myself wanting it light or heavy, potentially. I suppose I'll stick to the cheaper option here for starters. And for the remotes... I don't have any trains, but I've considered getting them. I'll probably go for just the Speed remote initially. Yeah, thanks much! -
There might be a topic for this already, but I didn't see anything skimming through the first page here, so I figured I'd just ask. To put it simply: I'm looking at getting some Power Functions so that I can include motors and lights in MOCs. I'm not well-acquainted with Technic at all, but I have plenty of axles/gears/whatnot to start me off from various System and Bionicle sets. Could anyone help me figure out what to get? I want the best quality and I'm willing to pay for it (If that doesn't sum up having Lego as a hobby...), even if I have to save up a bit longer, so cost isn't as big a deal. But I don't want to waste money on things that aren't going to be as useful. I'm looking purely at what Lego has under "Power Functions" on S@H, but if there are other good places feel free to mention them. A few questions to start: -Speed Remote Control vs. Normal one? The price is obviously different, but both have 4 channels and the two control sticks or whatever. If the only difference is that the one affects speed and the other is more of a "Stop/Go," is there really a reason to get the cheaper one instead of the more capable one? -Motor Sizes? From what I'm seeing I feel like the best way to go would be to get one or two of each motor size, so that I can build whatever without worrying about not having a strong enough or fast enough motor, as they can manage different levels of torque and different speeds. Is there any glaring reason one of them doesn't work as well as the others, or is it purely based on what you need? -Batteries? I'm seeing two types of battery boxes. The one has a rechargeable variant for 5x the cost, which doesn't seem worth it to me, so I'd assume the AAA version would be more economical in general. (I suppose I might go through $40 worth of AAA's in time, but do the charges last long enough, etc, for it to be worth it for some reason?) And more importantly, is there a specific reason to get the battery box with the switch on it?

There has been a specific mold for it, but it was around 5x5 and way too big for normal minifigs. I believe it was used moreso as the kind of umbrella you see attached to a patio table, and it very well may have only been made in pink. (That's all I've seen it in). They used to use the 4x4 dish, which was decent, but yeah more recently I've seen the 3x3. I don't think either works amazingly--something in between would be better, so if we do get Jane or Poppins or anyone with an umbrella a new mold would be preferable. Though unfortunately they'd be plenty likely to just give them two 1x1 cones as a closed umbrella.- 4,155 replies
