This looks great! Something BMW could launch as a special edition concept car. But a BMW and a V6 engine? It should always and forever be a straight 6 ;-)

Porsche is still about to launch the 911 991 GT2. This will have a spoiler and turbo intakes. My guess the Lego version will resemble the new GT2 and will launch it together with the real deal.

Well for what it's worth I now appreciate the Ewok Village set even more. I'm surprised to see it's around after it's being released in 2h 2013! Might be the longest lasting SW set ever?

This set already showed up in the Dutch s@h store for €279,99. It will be available on April the 30th and will be the 4th UCS available at the same time if TLG doesn't discontinue any other set soon. And I didn't even the count the 10236 Ewok's Village with that, which is also still available. There's too much to choose from!

In 2009 we got no RC, 2010 RC, 2011 no RC, 2012 RC, 2013 no RC, 2014 RC, 2015 no RC, so there might be a surprise waiting for us in 2016...?

Dit you use an additional batterypack to power all those motors?

Now with this set introduced (I'm only interested in UCS display sets, so this is a pass for me), will the UCS Sandcrawler retire soon?

Well the crane was already finished on Sunday (I'll post some pictures later on). I made a few minor mistakes along the way, all solved very quickly (I put on a black front bumper which needed to be DBG. I found that out when I started making the boom and missed a black beam. And in the superstructure I mirrorred an axle with gears so at first it ended up on the wrong side). All functions work as they should, no cracking or slipping gears and the boom slides smoothly in and out. All my doubts were for nothing, since this is a wonderful set. It's a very fun build and ones built this crane is HUGE. I love it!

The build is coming along quite rapidly! I started yesterday with this: Sorting it into this: Preparing myself by just having a look at this pile of paper... At this stage I was shure the build was almost ready! Only to be greatly mistaken... By now I was really greatfull for the advice of you'll that this is a great build. And there you have it. The first part is done. I left the plates unlocked so I can have a look at the gears when I want to. Preparing myself for the superstructure now!

Well guys you'll convinced me into opening the box of this bad boy and guess what? I got the version where there is one BIG instruction book instead of 6 separate ones. And holy crapper-di-crap... There sure is alot of Lego in that cramped box! So no investments, I'm here to build! I once had a 10179 Millennium Falcon, 10134 Y-Wing, 10178 motorized AT-AT and a 10174 AT-ST and sold them for the regualr Retail price MISB. That was one stupid mistake. I take comfort in the fact that the sets where sold to children who actually built the sets instead of fortune seekers. But just in case... I do have some Star Wars UCS sets stored to gain back some of my Lego investments ;-) ;-) :-) No it's time to build me a Mobile Crane MKII. Back from the dark ages for sure!

Thanks for all the reactions so far! Although I need to make up my own mind about it, I appreciate your opinions very much. In the meanwhile I couldn't help myself and bought a secondhand 9398 4x4 crawler and modded it with some parts I ordered through Bricklink :-) Not very original, but great fun none the less. I guess I'll start building the 42009 next week! The 42042 and 42043 will follow shortly. The 42030 will be bought as an investment to earn some money back ;-) Thanks again!

Fellow brickers, A couple of weeks back I bought a 42009 Crane MKII new in box to bring me back to Lego Technic after no less than 19 years! A former flagship looked to be a nice way to get back into complex Lego constructions ;-) I haven't come by to build it yet and after reading a bit more here on the forums about this, I'm having doubts wether to build this set (the final result seems to be a bit of an anti climax considering the clunky functions and not being able to lift anything more than a few feathers?) or sell it and buy something else like the 42043 MB Arocs or maybe even the 42042 Crawler Crane, which somehow I found to be very appealing for a sweat price. Opinions vary ofcourse, but which set do you think is the most fun to build?

Prices might finally collapse on the first UCS MF if they release another one. Bursting the bubble!

Well a UHD (4K) HDR Blu Ray release might be an option, so who knows what Lego will do to take advantage from the hype. Many here claim a 40th ann. release should be ANH based, but it is ofcourse also a 40th ann. for Star Wars in general. All options are open I guess. I want something BIG!!

I hope it will be something huge with 5000+ parts again :-) Nothing better than a long and extensive build. The new 10240 X-wing was too easy and the 75059 Sandcrawler doesn't cut it for me. A new UCS Falcon is something I crave for. I bought one when it was still sold by Lego and sold it a few months later to someone who really, really wanted this set (for the normal price). I don't regret doing that since I made a kid very happy, but somehow the desire to build one never left. I tried to Bricklink a 10179 Falcon a few weeks back, but that ended in misery when the costs passed the € 1200,- mark... That was simply too much for me. I sold the parts I already ordered and started hoping for Lego to introduce a new version soon ;-) A new UCS ISD would nice as well!

Well I guess the 2017 UCS releases are full of anticipation :-) A lot of suggestions has been made! At least one OT release is expected, but I really hope Lego will bring us again a 5000+ pieces set. Something that's really, really special! Our patience is being tested!

Hello brickfriends! As part of the 30th Star Wars anniversary, Lego brought us the 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon. As we all know, a limited edition with certificate and all... This got me thinking. What will Lego bring us next year with the 40th Star Wars Anniversary? A second Millennium Falcon would be quite popular, but I don't see that happening. We haven't had UCS AT-AT yet and personally, I wouldn't be surprised if Lego will bring us a king size version of the ultimate Hoth warmachine! What do you'll think?

It might be me being blind, but is there a list with upcoming sets? Reading back 147 pages is a bit of a stretch ;-) Also now the X-wing and Sandcrawler got a UCS remake, will other sets follow? I'm highly anticipating a new Millenium Falcon, Snow Speeder of Star Destroyer. An AT-AT UCS model would be nice as well, but that one would be new.

Dear brickfriends, The 10198 is available for some while now. Any idea for how long this great set will stick around? I'm considering to buy it, although I'm not sure yet. But the last thing I want is to find it out of stock the moment I do decide to buy the Tantive. Thanks!!

Nice review! Well done mate. I've been waiting for a review on the 10174 for a long time. I have one MISB in the closet and I'm still in doubt if I should build this unit. This review pushed me more to the 'yes' side :)
