  1. I think that for all three (Diplomacy, Command, and Intimidation) there are both passive and active effects - for instance, a character who isn't intimidating by nature (i.e. Matthias) will not be able to (captial "I") Intimidate. A character who isn't diplomatic won't be able to ...do Diplomacy? What I'm tying to say is that for all three there should be a lesser, passive form (a character with the Command trait should have a strong presence, etc), and a more forceful, active form.
  2. Congrats to Captain Settle, and to Goliath - a coin toss (literally) separated the two of you! Thanks to jluck and Speedy for all the patient instruction!
  3. Matthias ignores 'XX' and continues to try and sway the animals' judgement. "Yes, it's plain our employer is a necromancer," he says, and shudders a tiny shudder, "but you are fighting to preserve a pair who admit to callous, unfeeling murder in the name of strength. There are necromancers among the Heroes of Heroica, so I'm told, and," he shudders again, "the dead have less need of their bodies than the living have of their lives." Seeing Berthadhiell's aim, the ranger adds, "Lady Purpearl, will you not leave our friends at least until the others are done?"
  4. Hello? Is anyone there? Echo echo echo echo echo echo
  5. "I have made a choice, Sir Pigley, and I feel better for having made it. Master Aventine may be a bad man, but 'Lord' Chauncey," the gnome spits the honorific and looks in Zelphie's direction, "judging by the company he keeps, is at least as bad. Both of them made a deal with a demon. But the leaders of Heroica believed in Master Aventine enough to honor his request for aid with our contract. Master Ruffers, I would think you too would honor your contract with Master Everyman." "I will not strike you two intentionally," the gnome adds, "nor Lady Fenral, but this cannon can be a little uncontrollable at times, and I will have no shame attacking that fairy or her master."
  6. Matthias should have Power Bonus: 2 because he ate his Zoot's Cookie for power. And technically he should still be wearing his Dapper Hat instead of the Quickdraw Quiver. "Lady Purpearl, can you blind that blasted fairy?" Matthias calls out as he swaps his Dapper Hat for the Quickdraw Quiver and accepts the Peashooter from 'XX'. "Master Ruffers, what say we finish this quickly and all head to the nearest tavern together afterwards?" he calls to his animal friends. > Matthias: Change Dapper Hat for Quickdraw Quiver > XX: Give Matthias Peashooter > Matthias: Accept Peashooter from XX
  7. I prefer the multiply by ten method personally.
  8. Matthias waits until Zelphie turns away, then makes a rude face. Look at me, I'm a big strong fairy and you're a weak little gnome, he mouths sarcastically. Momentarily tempted to shoot the androgynous ex-hero in the back, he realizes he no longer has a weapon, so he joins Aventine's party, saying to 'XX' as meekly as only a gnome could, "Would you pass that Peashooter over here?"
  9. Once again I wake up and we have a lynch ready to go. Vote: Xenophobic Monoxide (Xenophobic Monoxide) Day Six If XenoMono is the last scum, then we're done, but if he isn't, maybe our vigilante can help. I don't think we have much reason to believe jluck was the godfather (if there is/was one). He seemed pretty town, but Kintobor never investigated him, so it's possible he was just plain scum. However, we've been suspicious all along of Captain Settle (and he seems pretty anxious to off XenoMono today), so I think the vigilante should kill him tonight, just to make sure. Anyone have other thoughts?
  10. I've been saying he was suspicious since Day One. No one else seems to care.
  11. Matthias seems very small indeed as he looks from one group to the other, Chauncey to Calmcacil, Fenral to Aventine, Ruffers to Berthadhiell. Finally making up his mind, he hands the Peashooter to 'XX'. "My debt to you is paid," he says to the bombmaker, and he stands off to the side.
  12. Matthias looks from one man to the other, wondering what awful things will happen. When 'XX' and the two animals head to opposite sides of the field, the gnome decides to ask a last desperate question. "I don't suppose there's any chance we could all band together and fight the demon instead?"
  13. I'm an idiot. Ok, we're agreed, XenoMono is the next next one. I concur that there's not a lot to gain from Kintobor's death; any scum would kill the cop ASAP. At the risk of being accused of scumminess for posting statistics, here are the voting patterns updated with our newest knowledge.... Day 1 (Thanks to Stinky Dave) Day Two Day Three Day Four Day Five
  14. Ok, so we don't know if TheLazyChicken was town or scum? Am I reading that right?
  15. Yes, the guy who pointed out Richila on Day One and has consistently pushed for the scummiest person to get lynched instead of the bandwagon kill is definitely not doing anything but giving stats.... And if you guys don't want me to do the voting patterns thing anymore, I'll stop, but I think it's proven pretty dang helpful so far, much more so than Captain Settle (2 posts Day Three, 1 post Day Four, 2 posts Day Five)....
  16. Not sure what to say at this point - not sure that there is much left to say. Yes, but does the blocker block the cop, or block the person being investigated? Kintobor makes it sound as if they blocker was blocking XenoMono, so when Kintobor tried to investigate, she couldn't because XenoMono was blocked. If that's the case, then XenoMono is scum, but that's not how I understand blocking to work. Not that that exonerates XenoMono, but.... Only when everyone else is awake, it seems.
  17. Matthias pulls off Aventine's amulet, then faces the orb. "The mortal spirit? Is that another code for kill the weak, save the strong? Might makes right?" He pulls himself together. "At this point I don't expect truth, but Aventine, explain your connection to Thistlethorp and the Cold Circle. And to Keith, Sam, and the bodies."
  18. Yep, and we let Duvors off the hook for two days because of it. Not falling for that again. I think I must not understand how the blocking thing works. Does the blocking person block the cop from being investigated, or from investigating? And since no one has counter-claimed cop and we've all spoken up, I think it's good to assume Kintobor is telling the truth. And I think Kintobor should be sharing as much as possible in PM to as many people as you trust, because it's likely you've just sealed your fate tonight if we don't lynch the right person. Sorry, was asleep. I'm back now, but will be at work for almost a 12-hour shift today probably. I don't think we got enough votes to lynch Brickelodeon, so vigilante you know what to do. If several votes change in the next 24 hours, we'll work a new plan, but for now I'm still good with this one. And if TheLazyChicken comes up town tomorrow, XenoMono is next on our list. Vote: TheLazyChicken (TheLazyChicken) Day Five
  19. Matthias sputters quietly as Zelphie goes on about 'weak' and 'wrong', looking back and forth from the fairy to the bodies to Purpearl and 'XX'. When the subject of body disposal arises, the gnome is glad to hear that the bodies will be properly burned. "Burn them, alchemist," he growls, "it is the least you can do after that callous murder."
  20. Or you could give us some helpful information... if you don't want to share publicly, at least PM someone and give them your thoughts, your role if you have one, whatever else might help the town.
  21. I think I am going to have a lot to say too... maybe not in the same vein as what you three are saying. I am trying to keep an open mind about a lot of things in anticipation of the finale.
  22. I agree. However, it's a lot more evidence. Good job vigilante! I agree with this plan. If jluck defended someone, it's my bet that they are scum. As usual, here's the voting pattern so far. Check out jluck's voting. Day 1 (Thanks to Stinky Dave) Day Two Day Three Day Four On second thought, jluck voted for Duvors, not once, but twice. It seems like he might not have been afraid to throw someone on his team under the bus to get in good with the rest of us. I was ready to give XenoMono a free pass after seeing that jluck was scum but maybe if he knew there weren't enough votes he just voted for XenoMono anyway?! Or he might have been protecting Brickelodeon? I am all in on the TheLazyChicken / Brickelodeon plan.
  23. "I did speak up, right before you struck that last crushing blow," Matthias replies, rolling his eyes. Elvish hearing not working so good now, he thinks. "The compass is pointing us to Master Aventine."
  24. Guys, I hate to do this, but we really are approaching a point where we can't get it wrong. There are 11 players left, so with 2 or 3 scum that only leaves 8 or 9 town. If we lynch the wrong way, and the scum kill again, and whoever is also night-killing does it again (VIG or SK) and gets a townie, that could leave 5 town and 3 scum. I know, it's all worst-case scenario. If you have suspicions, great, share them, but let's not get complacent. Vote for the person who you most believe is scum, and go from there. Brickelodeon: 4 Captain Settle: 1 Xenophobic Monoxide: 3 Day Four
  25. So who do you think is more suspicious? How about contributing your thoughts, or voting?
