  1. "I may be a bit nosy," Matthias concedes, "but I am also his friend. It seems to me that for a bunch of super-wise mages, y'all don't seem to have much of a handle on what's actually happening in the world. You can't tell me what dangers Sir Pigley - your own brother - might face; no one could tell us what the dangers of bringing Passion back might be, or the dangers of not bringing him back, for that matter." Matthias relents a little at his own harsh words and considers for a moment his own ignorance. "Void Master, please return me to Master Hoke and Master Guts."
  2. Durn you Rick Astley!! StickFig, what is the first rule of teh interwebz? The first rule of teh interwebz is never click on a strange link if you don't wanna get Rolled!
  3. "I want to know what's happening to Sir Pigley. Why does he need this artifact? You're obviously not keen on using any of Etheria's power for causes outside the island, so what danger is your brother facing that's so dire you're willing to send this Orb to help him?"
  4. Matthias rolls his eyes inwardly again, wondering idly whether what remains of the party has been suckered into something ridiculous, or whether the Etherians are as bumbling and petty as they seem. "Master Hoke, if you wouldn't mind grabbing me before you head to the ice room..." Matthias says. "Master Melquiades, I'd like to return to Lady Piglina for now."
  5. Matthias watches the interplay between Hoke and Felix and inwardly rolls his eyes, although he's glad that Hoke isn't rushing into things. His mind on Sir Pigley, the gnome touches the new bauble in his pouch, willing the ether to reveal the Orb's secrets.
  6. Matthias: 21 and Immortal That sounds like a terrible Lifetime TV show...
  7. "Only when it's that or die horribly, at least as far as I remember," the gnome remarks with a mischievous grin. "And what would that encounter be, exactly? I wouldn't like to think Sir Pigley is in some sort of trouble without going to his aid!" "Who, exactly, are we giving that thing to, Master Hoke?" Matthias queries the dragoon as they are whisked back to the city center.
  8. As far as Matthias goes, I can tell you exactly how many times he's killed Humanoids, at least since I borrowed the Hunter's Plate: 0. Animals, etc, no idea. Grumpkins can talk! This is height-ist discrimination, pure and simple! Well, the Regret is an Endgame boss....
  9. Yes, it would have been strange for Matthias to know, since he was (ironically enough) talking to Piglina while Guts was finding out about The Eye. "Care to share about its powers?" Matthias asks. "Surely if you dislike us taking it - at an Etherian's request, I must believe - you can give us your reasons why? And for that matter, what can you tell me about this Orb, and why you want it taken to your brother?"
  10. I thought we agreed that everything was Lind's fault! This is gold, this is. Thanks!
  11. Matthias tucks the Orb away into his bag. "I will bring this to Sir Pigley. Please do show us around the room." Whispering, he asks Hoke and Guts, "What else did we come in here to get?"
  12. "An Orb of Life, apparently," Matthias says as he carefully takes stock of their surroundings.
  13. Matthias nods in acquiesce and waits patiently for the dragon magic. > Matthias: If Lucky, XX Replica v. Golems, else nothing
  14. Matthias, seeing Torc un-injured, attacks the mob. > Matthias: XX Replica v. Feldspar Mob
  15. I think the wit may have been missed hahahaha. However, someone should truly take Lord Lawrence Boomingham on a @Zepher quest and give that guy a taste of his own medicine!
  16. Matthias follows the plan. Concur with auto roll!
  17. Yep, they're going to waste, which is why those of us who really want to go cannoneer are crying in the corner.... FTFY. Has Bonaparte rep been offered in the last 75 quests?
  18. Matthias repeats. > Matthias: Extraordinaire vs. Jade Mob
  19. With the Extraordinaire, Matthias should have hit three enemies for 108-SP damage each. Matthias repeats.
  20. I thought Phoenix Essences brought people back with 1 health? Matthias attacks the Jade Mob. > Matthias: Extraordinaire vs. Jade Mob
  21. QMs should be scared of a level 50 character! And no one is scared of Druids; Matthias is just a walking box of possible Phoenix Essence/Incenses. What QM isn't scared of Guts? He's not even level 50 yet, right? This isn't Prophet's problem. This is Druid's problem, and even Cleric's. The healing mechanic is completely different from anything any other class does; sure summoning is "different," but it's really just dealing damage in a different way. Stealing gold is different, but everyone gets loot every battle. Casting spells, again, just another way of dealing damage. But Cleric/Druid/Prophets can affect the party in a big way. Really it takes a Minstrel, or maybe you could stretch Skirmisher, to make an impact that is that different on a party. Any class you make that has the heal/revival ability is going to end up playing exactly like Druid because there's nothing else that comes close to filling that role.
  22. Nope, it's just a more powerful Druid with some extra perks thrown in. What's not to like? Yep! Matthias is going to continue to be a healer who also likes to dabble in things which explode. But if Prophet becomes something other than "Awesome Druid," that leaves him 0% room for advancement through Expert (since there hasn't been Bonaparte rep like, ev4r), Veteran (Sylvan Ranger will be an interesting diversion), and Master classes. Flipz has it right, but it's a good thing, not a bad one. We need to set apart the Basic/Advanced/Veteran/Master classes from the Expert classes, and maybe even set apart the Basic/Veteran and Advanced/Master classes. The Basic/Veteran classes are progression down the same play styles, at least at their core. Sure some mechanics change slightly, but if you played any other role-playing game for 40 levels and didn't gain new abilities that would suck. The Advanced/Master classes are, by and large, combinations of basic classes... again with a little more thrown in because who wants to advance without gaining abilities? What's the point of leveling up if you don't get something more? On the other hand, the Expert classes are a complete departure from any kind of progression whatsoever. They exist for flair, for interest, and, frankly, for something to break up the monotony of playing the same character for years (and years). It's a completely different mindset. I want Prophet to be "Druid on Steroids" because that's the progression that makes sense. Matthias shouldn't be the same Druid at 50 that he was at 20. But he is a Druid, and will be one at heart even if he makes it to Canonneer and/or Sylvan Ranger.
  23. Matthias heals Guts from the back row. > Matthias: Heal (XX Replica) vs. Guts
  24. I was completely with you until this... why on earth shouldn't a master class be more attractive in every possible way than an Advanced Class?!
