    First thought: whoa, overpowered. Second thought: never mind, all our enemies are immune to all negative effects anyway. Also, I can see daggers, whips, and fans, but swords and (especially) throwing weapons seems a little over the top (and overpowered). However, this is a really cool idea for a class, Jeb!

    Matthias stalks into the Hall, oblivious to the spectacle that's preceded him, and casts about for familiar faces or quiet tables. Wondering briefly about the quartet of interesting women perched at the bar, he finds Dyric sitting near another hero and decides that's his best bet. Using both hands, the tiny druid vaults onto an empty chair near his recent questmate, standing so he can see over the table. "So, Master Dyric," he says, toying with a pair of Ethereal Opals, "did we do a good thing in Etheria? Or is that man Passion going to doom the world?"

    As Matthias winds his way through the streets, he absentmindedly picks at the Fireball Extraordinaire in his hands. Without realizing it, he begins to work the magic of the Anvil on his weapon, subtly improving the metal. (WP:10) Whoops, thought I was still under the time limit to combine! Sorry about the double post!

    Matthias smiles again at the crab, gives Sir Pigley one last questioning look, and turns to find his way back to Heroica Hall. Thanks Zepher!

    Matthias laughs along heartily with Ruffers, glad to feel once again the crab's pure, simple, and virtuous point of view, but the look he gives Pigley is pained. "I ...saw, a glimpse of something, in Etheria. You were asking for her help with something, something that sounded awful. If I can be of any help...." Embarrassed, the gnome trails off, but he looks to his animal friends and nods. "You know where to find me."

    "Master Ruffers!" the gnome calls out, excited to see an unambiguously friendly face. "And Sir Pigley! How are the two of you?! It's been ages. Sir Pigley, I've had the pleasure of meeting your sister Piglina. She sent me to give you this." Matthias pulls the Orb of Life from one of his pouches and holds it out towards the pig, watching to see Sir Pigley's reaction. "Were you expecting a package from her? She also mentioned some sort of troublesome encounter ahead for you - is everything ok, my friends?" Brow knitted slightly, the gnome looks from pig to crab and back.

    "I will seek out Sir Pigley at once." Matthias struggles to order his thoughts as he rests his hands on the anvil. Bowing to Piglina, he finds a few words. "I will return, over and over perhaps, to study this and to put its secrets to use for all people. I will have plenty of time." And the Void Master whirls him away. Did you want to do Sir Pigley now, or should I wait and sign up for the next Zepher quest? I'm cool either way.

    We've had this discussion before I think... there are always too few healers in Heroica. I don't think there is anything sudden about it. Matthias is (secretly) a response to that trend - he was originally supposed to go Warden, but it seemed like that had been done plenty (Docken and Em come to mind). I think that might be part of the problem... clerics don't have a great blend of hurt and help. Matthias has an incredibly offensive-minded build, and has barely done any damage in any of his last 4 quests/fields runs. So, since he became a cleric. At the Prophet level, you do offensive damage on Shield, but if Matthias tries to shoot, he has a 1/3 chance of getting smushed, a 1/2 chance of doing fairly ineffective damage, and a 1/6 chance to blow a chunk of ether healing a bunch of slightly bruised party members. He's a great help, but his damage output isn't. That's not a bad thing necessarily - he's a cleric! - but it does mean that the class is a narrower support role than most others. It's because everyone thinks of Rangers in the LotR sense: Aragorn and his buddies. But "Ranger" means someone who fights from a distance, not necessarily someone who hugs trees.

    Matthias consults his depleted coin bag. "Thanks anyway. And your hair does look great!" He settles in to wait for Melquiades.

    Matthias visits Zeus to buy a Gaia Bomb, Toxic Hood, and Greaves of the Aubergine Dragoon, then goes to the Forge Master and uses the Gaia Bomb to defeat another set of Ice Sprites, earning another Ethereal Opal. Returning to Zeus, he idly inquires about the prices of Raw Meat, Buckets of Buffalo Wings, Greasy Sausages, Chicken Drumsticks, Totally Dope Hair Gel, and Carrots as he waits for Melquiades to return. 922 - 150 - 200 - 400 = 172 Gold remaining

    Matthias collects himself, his thoughts, and the Anvil after the harrowing teleportation and gives Skuld a long look. "No, I believe I am ready to return to Heroica Hall," he says, obviously stretched thin. He runs his hand along an imaginary groove in the face of the Anvil. "But first, I believe the proper place for this is in Etheria's treasure room." Matthias does still need to do some shopping before he departs Etheria though!....

    Matthias keeps his weapon pointed at Skuld and his hand on the anvil as the void master moves them out of the room, wondering what will come back in Skuld's body or mind.

    Matthias pockets the gemstone and gold. "Give you what? The anvil? I am the Bearer."

    Woohoo!!! Congratulations! Matthias, uncomfortable from more than just shivering, places the anvil carefully in front of him as the Dragoon's command whispers through the space, and sights the Extraordinaire atop it to await what the light reveals.

    Matthias joins Hoke in taking stock of the Frozen room, trying to figure out what the strange presence is.

    "What part of what bargain did we not uphold?" Matthias asks Ablesword and Holla. "Master Melquiades, what is it you're so afraid of? What did you let into this room that's so scary?"
