  1. Oh my God, we get another police ATV , but this time with... a rollcage! Which doesn't make it better though. Looking at the pick-up from 60128 I wonder whether cars are going to become bigger and bigger. The rest of the police sets is nothing special, just some mash-ups of previous sets. The ballon as such is a nice feature though, but I never liked the part. The fire brigade sets are quite nice except 60111, this type of vehicle (reminds me of 4208 Fire Truck from Forest Fire Brigade) just doesn't work with the trailer (and why should a radio mast/satelitte dish burn? It's certainly possible, but well...). Not sure why the Fire boat has to be a fire boat though, the swing arm construction looks like a crane at first sight but then it's just a water splash? 60114 Race Boat is cool, but there's nothing to race against. It was the same with the 60053 sports prototype and the F1 set, no competitors. Hopefully they come up with another boat with the next wave.
  2. Looking at the pictures and considering wishes and needs of children I can well imagine that Nexo Knights becomes as successful as Ninjago. There are distinctable heros they can indentify with (due to the heraldy it's not restricted to the colour pattern - we had different symbols in Ninjago as well, but they were less prominent IMO), there are crazy vehicles/moving structures, there's the usual Good vs. Evil. I have some doubts with regard to the bad guys, the regular minifigs are a little dull somehow. On the other hand, they could be seen as a cross-over of Snake people and Stone Warriors, which seem to have been successful as well (?). But it's also going to depend on the content of the smaller sets probably and the features of the Ultimate sets. Now, given it's Nexo Knights, and given the new parts, it's actually a little disappointing for me that hardly any of those seem to fit into a traditional Castle layout the way I had hoped, except the queen and (maybe) Lance's visor and Macy's plume. But maybe we also get "civic" versions of the main characters in future releases that are more compatible with the Castle theme. In any case, assuming Nexo Knights turns out to be successful, I guess it would block the regular Castle/Space themes for the nearer future. Even if it doesn't look like traditional knights it definitely refers to them (and to space or "future" in general), and would compete with corresponding sets if they were available at the same time. So I would understand if some people are frustrated to some extent with Nexo Knights turning out to be this way. See it positive, you can save money in the meantime then
  3. Yes, you're right. I was already happy due to the different visors, but looking at this picture they will look weird with the standard helmet piece except maybe Lance's. However, maybe we also get a new "castle knight" helmet in the future that works well with the new visors, something like this: : I mean, actually it's weird that the established visor has this structure in the middle to make the helmet look more like a knight's helmet (leaving aside that it's needed to attach the plume).
  4. There's the official trailer from Youtube . Pics on http://www.tvinsider.com/article/45550/first-look-lego-nexo-knights-tv-series-and-minifigures/ and http://kotaku.com/future-knights-battle-dark-magic-in-legos-latest-origin-1735352838 .
  5. Maybe this is what children want to have. Maybe children into buildings & "Daily non-vehicle life" play Playmobil as there's much more small equipment. Although we can see that Lego has lots of potential considering the Friends line. I just checked, when I was a kid I had the following building sets: 6362: Post Office (1982) 6689: Post Station (1985) 6699: Cycle Fix-It Shop (1987) 6349: Holiday Villa (1988) 6355: Derby Trotter (1989) 6376: Breezeway Café (1990) 6350: Pizza To Go (1994) I took over the buildings from my older brother except the Pizza To Go shop. Now, given that my brother was born in late 1982, and with my parents buying the sets at local shops, e.g. 6362 must have been around in the shops for four years (?), as I don't think he got any sets before the age of four. If this was really the case then this would be quite different compared to nowadays. The distribution of the official release dates might indicate that he received one to two buidlings a year, probably either for his birthday or for Christmas. No idea whether we were representative children (my cousins had several larger buildings including an airport and a fire and/or police station; the best friend of mine back then didn't have any City buidlings as far as I remember, his largest set was 6077: Forestmen's River Fortress, possibly also a caste, dunno). But nowadays one could come to a similar collection of buidlings based on the Creator sets. However, there's certainly some difference with regard to size and price, as smaller buidlings are not released separately any longer. Back then you might have got something similar to 60031: City Corner with two separate sets, or 3661 Bank & Money Transfer without the vehicles. On the other hand, in 2013 there was 31009: Small Cottage for 27 € and this year we get 31035: Beach Hut for 25 €.
  6. Well, you can't deny that there are repetitions, and some of them are unnecessary. It's not just about similar sets released every two years, it's also lack of creativity in part. Take the ATVs/buggies. Just looking at City sets, there was a fire ATV in 2010 (30010) and a police ATV (30013), in 2011 we got a police ATV (7279), in 2012 a firefighters ATV (4427), a police ATV (4437), a prisoners ATV (4440). Unsurprsingly, we had another police ATV (60006) in 2013. What about 2014? A police ATV (30228), an arctic team ATV (60035), a prisoners ATV (60043). And in 2015 there's a police ATV (60065), a space ATV (60077), another police ATV (60086), a firefighters ATV (60088), it's surprising we don't get any sea explorers ATV. Leaving aside that I don't seen many ATVs in real life, so likely they are misrepresented - I was a kid myself, and I doubt children are that crazy about ATVs. However, I understand why TLC throws them in everywhere, as they are a play feature (vehicle to move around). But they are also very simple and you don't have to think much about the design. TLC has greatly improved with regard to the larger vehicles/trucks, but the normal cars look somewhat poor / flawed, possibly due to the oversized mudguards and the often missing doors. And they definitely have a problem with designing nice smaller vehicles IMO. A similar topic, helicopters. Look at the Deep Sea sets. It's quite absurd that we get only one set with ships for the explorers, 60095 with the large one and the rubber boat ship (plus the wreck, which doesn't make much sense IMO, why should a modern-looking ship contain gold, but anyway). No small boats in the other sets, not even rubber boats. But a large plane and a large helicopter. Well, great... On the other hand, there have already been various enhancements. For example I like the fact that many of the police or firebrigade sets now include play features like the small scenes with fire to extinguish, a criminal in a car to chase, ... It's also a fact that we get nice building sets in the Creator line nowadays. In contrast, the buildings in the large City sets often look dull, loveless and partly out of place, e.g. like the car shop in 60097 City Square, considering the term "City Square". Maybe they should have released the car shop & associated vehicles in a separate set. It was similar with 60026 Town Square, instead of the superlarge crane truck and the road sweeper (IMO weird in that context, but maybe there are town squares with sweepers like that) they could have added another building, or some more details to the restaurant, or a small park with a few trees or some flowers around the monument. The set looks as if people decided to throw together random stuff, two buidlings, bus, now let's think, we need another large vehicle vehicle vehicle... okay, crane truck, now, what could we do with this large crane, wait... okay, let's add this small statue.
  7. Yes, sorry . However, the mirrors were installed asymmetrically on the race cars and the road car, with the left mirror placed above the tyre, in contrast to the test (?) car I had linked to. Which means wooootles' model is not absolutely perfect . The right mirror seems to be attached the same way on all the cars, it's located much more behind. Concerning the Corvette, another nice creation . The only detail I wonder right now, is there an option to have a smoother transition at the rear end of the large roof piece?
  8. Yes, your model of the GT-One is really highly recognizable As far as I know there's only a single road version of the GT-One, which is located in the Toyota Motorsports Group museum in Cologne nowadays (registration plate K-LM 1998, you'll find a few pictures without the plate though). There has been a developmental/race version which was only involved in testing though. I have no idea whether it corresponds to this car http://cloudlakes.co...ota-gt-one.html (note, no headlights, no rear-view mirrors). And then there are five race versions (one of them took part in both the 1998 and 1999 24 hours of Le Mans race).
  9. Well, for some reason I didn't have any problems in getting the samurai from series 3 (or actually, several versions), the katanas were easy to find. This time I was in front of a box which looked as if it had just been opened a while ago, and I tried all the bags, but I didn't feel any sword even once. As I said, I didn't spend much time on them though. But I also troubled to find the rockstar from series 12 while the rocker was no problem back then. Anyway, I might try again and if I don't feel sure (I'm really not into the other minifigs this time, otherwise I would buy some randomly or a few that feel promising) I'm going to buy the samurai somewhere. Also got some minifigures relatively cheap at an Amazon shop (the skater girl, a second rocker girl, the motorcycle mechanic to complete my "Lego Underground" collection, it was up to 5 € per minifig as far as I remember).
  10. Does anyone have information about the bump codes? I saw some series 13 packages in a Müller and a Galeria Kaufhof store (Germany) today. With the feeling method I only detected the carpenter due to the 1x4 tile, the evil wizard due to the slope skirt, the hot dog guy plus an Egyptian warrior due to his shield. I'm interested in the samurai though. I know it should be pretty easy to find due to the two katanas, but I always feel weird inside a store touching those bags, so I just try a few seconds a bag
  11. Not sure about that. There was the statement "LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin will be the most expansive adventure game through the Ninjago universe that we have ever made to-date. Kids will get a kick out of playing as their favourite Ninja warriors battling a new enemy with an exciting array of cool vehicles, mechs and even dragons!" stressing we get new mechs and dragons, and likely there's at least one new mech and one new dragon set. There's always a way to implement him into the storyline.
  12. Well, I'm mainly into the pictures, don't give that much about set names as such. But Just2Good is really offering a good service. Thanks Probably I won't get any of the sets anyway as I'm interested in the more historically looking minifigs. From the 2013 wave I had bought the 70500 set but I was very disappointed as the printing seemed to be of really bad quality. The scout lost some of his printing very soon, which has not occured on any other minifigs I own. 20€ just for the warrior in 70501 seemed to be too expensive to me, not speaking about 70505 to obtain the new Sensei Wu. I never saw that blister pack 850632 anywhere. From the 2014 wave I would like to own the Sensei Garmadon, but well. Same for 2015, the new Sensei Garmadon and Samurai X versions in 70750 look very nice and detailed. It's really a little sad that they don't sell any spinner packs any more
  13. By the way, what happened to the mold of a new ninja mask that had been leaked together with those from Series 13 and others? Are there any news whether it's going to be part of an official set?
  14. Just speaking for myself, I don't need a cyclops at all. The cyclops from series 9 was thus useless for me, but I understand that others might like such a minifig, so I can accept that it was included. Now considering the new cyclops, first of all, it's a reuse of existing molds. Many people do not like that, independent of the specific minifig and its sex (good/evil robot, "male"/"female" clock robot, different skaters, ...). This is the first aspect. Concerning cyclops, usually one thinks of male cyclops, based on the descriptions in myths. Now we get a female version, which runs counter to these expectations. This might be the second aspect for some people, e.g. those who would like to create a "historical" diorama with a herd of cyclops, and well, they seem to be male in these myths. So the problem is not that it's female but rather that it is a creature thought to be male which is now presented as an "incorrect" version. Leaving this aside, we also rate minifigs based on the quality / level of detail. And here I have to admit that the new cyclops is a failure, not because it's female and also not because of her wearing lipsticks, but THE WAY she wears lipstick / THE WAY it is printed on the head. It's much too close to the eye IMO and thus ruins the minifig. First of all, I don't really like these gender debates when it comes to toys. I often have the feeling that people like to complain just because it gives a good feeling to them, but they don't really want to change anything. Similar to watching political talkshows "yeah I'm engaged in politics", but when the TV is switched off you don't care any more. Concerning toys, when thinking back myself, I've been playing with LEGO for years and it was certainly not like "this MALE pirate is trying to attack this MALE soldier" or "the MALE street cleaner turns around the corner, bumps into the MALE pizza vendor, who calls the MALE policeman". However, I still grew up with mainly the 80ies smiley faces, meaning sex was not explicit in most of the cases (but it seems this led many people to conclude that they're male). When looking at the current sets, they have much more details, but this also means there is much less to imagine. An angry face implies an angry person, a face with lipstick points to a female (yeah, this is a preconception, but in the majority of cases it's just like that = most of the persons wearing lipstick are indeed female), a body with this "printed waist" seems to be female. And here I have to criticise TLC - yes, to criticise, because they also tried to show off in a positive way with the female scientists set. Almost all the female minifigs wear lipstick and have visible eyelashes. Why do they have to? If TLC really wants to avoid transporting stereotypes with their toys, then stop combining female minifigs with lipstick-eyelash printings all the time. This should be very easy to achive. If there were more "neutral" bodies/faces, you could interpret them in your own way. I mean, what's the fuzz about the new samurai? It's a neutral minifig (it probably also has a female-style body printing, but we haven't seen it yet) with a neutral hearpiece (neutral in that context, as it has already been used on the sumo ringer and more or less corresponds to a haircut which could have been male or female at that time) plus our stereotyped lipstick face. Well, great... so instead of the biased sex ratio we at least have more females compared to the past, but we still have the issue with the stereotype "females have to be pretty and use make-up". Don't misunderstand me, I really don't care that much, but given the fact that we have these discussions and TLC tries to counteract by increasing the number of female minifigs (which is great of course), why not consider this aspect as well?
  15. I haven't seen a link to the high-res pictures yet, so you might want to try this one. Just an average series IMO. Sheriff: Nice. I like the different shades of brown, but also a little boring. Snake charmer: Okay. I don't like the green colour of the body (orange would have been much better) and this chain printing, looks a little like sausages to me ;-) Samurai: Great armour (also check this pic)! But I'm disappointed nonetheless. No helmet at all, just the sumo ringer hairpiece (or a similar looking one)? Come on. King: Great. But what about the crown and the sword, are they pearl gold? I hope at least the crown is "shiny" gold. Egyptian warrior: Great fig, great parts (not sure whether this shield is historically accurate, but it looks good). Evil wizzard: Stupid. Sorry, I do get the idea of an evil wizzard, but all these flames are over the top IMO. I would prefer a more sinister version dressed up all in black or in dark colours. And they should have given him some sort of headpiece or hair at least. Goblin: I'm just not into this stuff, I leave it up to those who are. Female cyclops: Looks weird. Well, cyclops have to look weird, don't they. But the lipstick printing is just bad, as it seems to fly above the mouth. Alien trooper: I have never been a fan of aliens of this type (as in Space Police III), but okay. Space trooper: Okay. Different printing might have resulted in a much more exciting look. I would prefer a helmet with visor. Disco queen: The different parts just don't go together IMO. Maybe they should have gone with a "sexy" version (miniskirt or short trousers plus coloured stockings), a version with leggings (something like the fitness trainer) or two more different colours for body and legs instead of two shades of purple. Paleontologist: Okay. Nice headpiece, great "ammonite". The minifig as such (body, legs) is boring. Carpenter: Okay. Nothing extraordinary, but nice details. Hotdog guy: Nice. Unicorn girl: I haven't been into these minifigs, but it looks nice. Fencer: Not much to say, looks like a fencer. Could have been better though. Why didn't they use a different colour (black, dark grey) for the mesh?
  16. Yes, this is the main problem, you need a certain size to make smooth, curvy cars. Thus I don't understand why they try to recreate existing cars. E.g. look at the Porsche 911, the side above the mudguard is just very blocky. Or take the 918 and this gap going through the headlight sticker. If it were a MOC, okay, but this is a regular set, so they should have come up with a better solution. Dunno, but TLC would be better off by designing their own cars, as it's easier to make a good looking fictitious car and to avoid any of these flaws. However, thinking of the cars from the City theme then the Speed Champions cars are certainly a nice addition. While the quality of the larger City vehicles has improved to a large extent in recent years, the cars are still disappointing (mainly due to the large mudguards) or actually have less details than classic cars (they often had sunroofs). But the Speed Championship cars won't work well with City cars due to the different dimensions, that's a major drawback IMO (think of an illegal street race, we have thousands of police cars, but they are too small for Speed Champions - but wait, this means we will see Speed Championship Police ).
  17. I'm an endurance racing fan, and I like Lego, so a combination of both would be highly appreciated. Taking into account all the effort (new parts) I'm somewhat disappointed though. The cars look good from some angles, but from others they are just very bulky or "wrong". The Ferrari 458 GT2 could also be interpreted as a 550 GT. Actually, moving the driver's compartment a little forward would correspond to the 458, moving it backward it results in a 550 GT, but right now it's none of both really. It's still easily recognizable, but this is due to the stickers. Imagine the same car in yellow with different stickers, then it might work as a Corvette in a similar good or bad way. If someone had shown me the car in neutral colours and told me it's a model of a racecar I would have thought of the current Aston Martin Vantage V8 GTE probably ;-) One of the reasons are the side windows, which are much straighter at the bottom on the Aston Martin, similar to the model, whereas it's more curvy on the 458. Same on the P1, I'm interested to see how it looks like with the driver's compartment moved one brick forward. The front of the 918 also looks very weird IMO. Overall I'm not sure whether sets like that are a good idea. For grown-ups they might not be realistic enough, and for children they might be frustrating due to the tons of stickers - leaving aside that children are probably not into endurance racing like the Porsche 911 RSR and the Ferrari 458 GT2, so even if the cars are good representations they might actually not care about it (which is a good thing of course if you consider some of the "flaws"). It might especially be a problem because children probably also like to crash the cars (sometimes at least ), so the stickers might be damaged very soon. For children I would have preferred a collection of bricks which allow to recreate your own racecars or more sets like 60053. A shame that they didn't release at least a second car like that, same for the F1 car. There's simply nothing to race against - but maybe sales volumes weren't that good. Anyway. Let's see how the cars look like, so far only few pictures are available, which might be misleading to some extent. And sorry for the rather harsh comments, but I'm into the race cars and thus have much higher expectations than others
  18. I don't think so, there seem to be just "good" minifigs We don't know the English name for the goblin/imp minifig, and a "Kobold" (in case that's the official German term and not the interpretation of that shop) could be anything. But based on the head piece it could be similar to the sketch by Alexandre Boudon. The tip of the head piece goes to the back instead of to the top, okay, but that's probably just due to production reasons. It's a little sad that the ears are attached to the head piece, so one can't use it for medieval settings (sort of hood for peasants, non-armoured soldiers).
  19. I'd say the legs have normal length, but there's an additional part like the roller skates on e.g. the Diner Waitress from series 11. Roller disco seems to have been popular in the 70ies and 80ies, so I'd say it's indeed roller skates. The disco queen is a weird minifig IMO, not the idea as such, but the combination of parts and colours. Let's see how it turns out. Would be great to get high-res pictures by the way, I WANT to see the new samurai.
  20. I think it is unlikely that the samurai is a Terracotta warrior. TLC would probably release a plain-coloured version because that's the way they look nowadays (actually they were coloured). Such a minifigure would be very unique and an online shop would probably not mix it up with a "normal" asian warrior. Look at the cheerleader girls, we also got a second version, even with the same hairpiece, just different colours. The new samurai might thus wear the already available darker armour version, and the body might be white or blue. Hopefully the helmet comes with a proper tatemono similar to the front crest in the old samurai sets. The lack of a crest was a major limitation of the series 3 samurai IMO. And hopefully they do NOT use the bucket handle like on Samurai X. Of course it would be great to get a completely new headpiece, maybe even with a mask, but well, we can't expect too much. But if we get a second samurai then there's also a chance to get another geisha Unfortunately many of the Ninjago minifigs just don't feel right if you want to have a (semi)accurate historical figure (due to the dragon prints, ...). A Terracotta/Chinese warrior would be great of course. For the meantime there's still BrickTW for Chinese and Si-Dan Toys for Japanese historical equipment.
  21. Why would three new torsos have been stupid? They could have made new torsos with casual clothes, couldn't they. It's not that there are that many different female torsos in workaday clothes around. The light-blue torso has been used in almost any set with "normal" female minifigs for a while.
  22. Yes. But as I stated, I think the scientists are somewhat lame. You could have added some more equipment, you could have used three new bodies or at least less common and generic bodies. The dinosaur sceleton is a nice feature, but it's just regular parts as far as I can see. And then there are 33 pieces = 20% of the set just for the "astronomer's plate". It's really just a plate but increases the price of course . If they had given three legs to the telescope you could place it anywhere... Not really. They could have released them separately, which would have made much more sense to me. A research institute needs some building IMO to be considered as an institute, not three small plates (leaving aside that I don't see any direct relationship, an institute typically implies collaboration between different workgroups, which is rather difficult to imagine with the current three minifigs). And here one of the main limitations of LEGO shows up, the lack of buildings (okay, you could turn one of the police stations into a office building / research institute of course). Besides, if there's some nice idea which does not focus on a construct like Ghostbusters or a particular satellite, I don't really see the necessity to release it as a single (or three small) Ideas set and then discontinue the whole story. The original idea focused on small vignettes featuring female minifigs. We've already had these small vignette sets in the past, as stated above (maybe there were a little smaller / less pieces), so it would have been great if TLC had reintroduced sets like that, so focus on tradition a little again instead of new police sets every year and tons of small helicopters... For example the postman would also have been a great set, or the construction worker - simple equipment but effective. It seems we have the polybag sets nowadays for that purpose, but I have the feeling they are not available everywhere. And you could easily imagine various other settings featuring male or female minifigs for maybe 5€, e.g. ice cream vendor / ice cream cart, gas pumps, windsurfer, astronaut, to mention a few sets that have already been released in the past.
  23. I feel I have to comment on this gender issue as well. The original idea for the set was to have more female minifigs. People have been complaining about the high male : female ratio in Lego sets for a long time, which has improved to some extent in the last few years, including "non-traditional" female minifigs. Think of the female garbage collector, female workers in 60052 and 60020, female construction worker in the Movie series. It's still far away from 50 : 50, but we also have to keep in mind that Lego products cover a limited range of the real world with a strong focus on police/fireworks/construction in which there might well be an advantage for males (I've seen many construction sites, and most of the time it's "hard working guys" ;-) Lego simply does not cover the regular employee sitting in some office, or shop assistants, ... Nonetheless, adding more female figures is certainly a good idea for the children, but "female only" sets are no solution (assuming you think there's a problem to solve), it's just the opposite extreme. So far people often have gone like "the minifigs are male, girls don't want to play with them". Now you can go "minifigs are female, boys don't want to play with them". Besides, it's just a single set attracting lots of attention and PR, but what then? If you really wanted to improve the situation they should go on adding female minifigs to regular sets and further increase the ratio. And especially if you want to show that both girls and boys can become researchers (or take any other job), why not sets with one female and one male researcher? Or use some unisex body and two heads or a unisex head plus two different hair pieces. Actually there are several faces which can be regarded male or female, but most of them are regarded as male probably because 1) they appear with a male hair piece 2) females always wear lipsticks in Lego world. It's especially vexing to see three lipstick heads in this set. Well, anyway. Turning to the set, honestly speaking, I'm surprised that so many people seem to like it (maybe just for political correctness?). The set as such doesn't make much sense to me. Throw in three completely unrelated minifigs plus some equipment. And that's a "research institute"? Well, come on There's not much to interact between the three scientists, is there. In my opinion they should better have released three small sets, similar to previous regular sets like 5610 Builder, 5611 Public Works, 5612 Police Officer, 5613 Firefighter, 5620 Street Cleaner, 8398 BBQ Stand, 7566 Farmer, 7567 Traveller, probably a little more expensive, so rather in the range of 3177 Small Car, 3365 Space Moon Buggy, 4641 Speedboat, 4427 Fire ATV or maybe 60000 Fire Motorcycle, 60006 Police ATV, 60011 Surfer Rescue, 60032 Arctic Snowmobile when adding a second minifig and/or more useful equipment. Then anyone could choose the scientist he/she wants to play with. 20 € for this set seems to be way too much. Take 4201 for example, you get two minifigs plus two small vehicles for 15 €. Looking at it more closely, the astronomer rather fits into an observatory, guiding visitors around, than into a proper "research institute". The telescope looks really, really old-fashioned due to the wooden rack. They should have gone with the original version with three black or grey legs. That way you could also have interacted with other sets, e.g. imagine that your Lego minifigs go out onto a short trip with their camping van / car, putting up their telescope somewhere outside the city and watching the stars (which some of you might want to do with your kids). The paleontologist is also somewhat boring. It would have been a nice idea to give her some outdoor clothing and some equipment like shovel, brush plus maybe a screwdriver (faking some sort of putty knife), so you could have imagined that your minifig is on an archaeological excavation. Turning back into the lab she could still put up the sceleton. Now you have her just standing next to a complete sceleton, looking at it with a magnifying glass, and another unrelated bone under the microscope. So all in all, I'm somewhat disappointed, except for the chemist, who really has nice equipment.
  24. Actually I'm a little disappointed, the series is an average one in my opinion . They had great new ideas like the princess, the wizard, and the athena, but the new parts are unsatisfying. Gamer Guy: 5 out of 10. Always good to have another city outfit, but instead of PLAYER they could have used a more iconic print, for example a pacman or a tetris stone Prospector: 3. Why does he have such a weird face? Is this a tribute to some movie character? The body looks like the cheap version of grandpa from series 10. Due to the new parts still a 3. Rockstar: 9. Nothing new, but looks great. Swashbuckler: 6. Might be less useful for army building due to the body print. Jester: 7-8. The cards are a nice feature, and the rhombus pattern on the chest is an interesting idea, also that the belt has been moved onto the leg part. But why always this two-colour left/right pattern. Purple-orange is also somewhat out of place for a medivial setting in my opinion, but the colours look great nonetheless. Princess: 5. Okay if you want a fairytale princess, but not perfectly compatible with a medieval setting, which people might have been waiting for. A simpler printing (maybe together with arms in a second colour) might have been more useful (like the forest maiden from series 9). But okay, it's meant for children of course, so I accept that. The headpiece looks cheap though. I would have prefered something like this (or this, which would not fit with a fairytale princess though). Thus just a 5. Spooky Girl: 3. Actually a fantastic idea, but why did they have to put a spider on it? It ruins the whole figure. Pizza Delivery Guy: 5. The new pizza is nice. The guy is a little boring and the red-green pattern looks weird. They should better have gone with a red-white poloshirt. Maybe the jeans has some interesting details. Hun Warrior: 9. Great body printing, great shield. Helmet as such is also nice, but the horns are stupid. But we have to live with that (like on the vikings) Genie Girl: 7. Nice printings. Will be difficult to use in "non-genie" settings, but together with the surgeon's troursers from series 8 you might get a nice belly dancer girl. Maybe it can also be combined with the female rockstar's leg part from series 7. Male Lifeguard: 9. Okay, nothing new, just like the rockstar, but it's a nice addition to a beach setting. You can't have enough of sexy, trained guy and ladies, can you? ;-) The red binoculars are weird though. Wizard: 5. Too fairytale IMO. You can't use the body for anything else except for a wizard (in contrast to e.g. the Gandalf LotR figure). Similar to the princess I could accept the decision, but the headpiece looks cheap and non-LEGO, so just a 5. Dino Tracker: 8. Not that useful for MOCing due to the green ampoules, but the trousers with side-printing are great. I thought of Hunger Games when seeing the picture. Space Miner: 8. Not sure about it. A heavily armoured miner? Looks great nonetheless. Athena: 3. A really great idea, but the skirt is really really bad. If it is meant to resemble something like this then they just failed. Pig Suit Guy: 9. No use for this guy, but together with the chicken guy the best animal suit figures so far. In conclusion, the series could have been much better by changing a few details (different print for the gamer guy, different colour scheme for the pizza delivery guy, no spider for the spooky girl) and by giving a proper skirt part to the athena figure. I don't know why but the new headpieces for the wizard and the princess seem to be out of place. Maybe it's the proportions. In any case the molds look non-LEGO to me.
  25. A terracotta warrior would be really great. But hopefully it wouldn't be just a tan minifigure but painted (as the terracotta warriors were, see here for a reconstruction). I would also like to get a second samurai or another geisha or alternatively some Chinese warriors / women.
