Great work and thank you for sharing TazManiac! You give a lot of great ideas to use or reference for furniture. My only improvement would be for the piano. You could have the piano 1 brick thicker and alternate two "old-school" hinge plates for the 2 & 3 black key sets. &

Which is better, Star TREK or Star WARS?
Capn Frank replied to vahkimetru's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Switched my vote from none of the above to Star Trek. As more SW movies are made the less I like it. I used to be an avid SW fan too. I really like the latest Star Trek film and watch most series when I see them on TV. -
Just click on the BL part number of the part you're looking for then click on its color in the next screen. The list of stores that have that piece will be shown.

Stash IS the man! I've got the hotel booked for Fri. & Sat. night. My wife, myself, and our upcoming child will be attending BW11. I sense a family tradition coming. I will probably get the Light Registration. I won't be bringing much, if anything. I've been busy the past year and a half.

I'm trying really hard not to. I don't really plaster my wish-lists on the forum, but I have gotten over twenty copies of the impulse set cannon battle ( I lost count ). I also have multiples of a lot of sets that cost $100 or less. My multiples typically come from the clearance isle. I know a lot of people on the forum that spend a lot more than I do on Lego, and many spend less. It would be great to spend more, but I do have a few, semi-important expenses like food, house, and video games. When I do not get a set that I would really like, it's typically because I have made a lot of BL orders.

Hi Jareth! It's great to see a fellow Wisconsinite on the board. I also live in southern Wisconsin, near Milwaukee. Hope you have been enjoying our heat wave lately! I do have to confess though, I do not own a cheese hat, I don't eat brats, and I don't like Milwaukee's Best or Point beer. I hope that we can still get along. Welcome!

Achille, a French frigate carrying 36 guns
Capn Frank replied to BrickPerfection's topic in Pirate MOCs
Great job Perfectionist! The ship looks great from a distance, and up close. There is a lot of fine detail on this ship. I really like how you've made the stud-sails. The headrails look spectacular. The stern cabin looks great with all of its angles coming together so nicely. Does the capstan and steering actually work? It's MOCs like this one that motivate me to build more accurate and detailed vessels. Agreed. Only people with superpowers (Regulators, Mods, and Admin) are able to delete posts. -
Am I missing something? I think the two latest castle factions remakes of classic factions with updated prints and modern designs. The emblems distinguishing the factions look surprisingly similar to our old friends the Crusaders and Black Knights or Dragon Knights. The Crusader Shield: The Kingdom good guys: The Black Knights Shield: The Dragon Knights Shield: The Kingdom bad guys:

I would start by searching to see if this question has already been answered in other topics: Color Change Final Update More Color Change Idiocy The Color Change

The scale of mini-figs has been discussed in the Lego and General News forum right here. For ships, a lot of people use minifig illusion scale to take advantage of prefab hulls and due to limitations on space, time, money, etc. Perfectionist's Achile is a good, recent example of a frigate that is minifig illusion scale: ZCerberus' Phantom is a good, semi-recent example of a frigate that is minifig scale: First difference you'll easily see are the differences in size. I mean, people like ZCerberus are crazy for building a ship of this size! A frigate, which is a small war ship, requires A LOT of build space and bricks.

How does the POTC theme fit into your world?
Capn Frank replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
I'll be removing all of the Fleshie faces and placing yellow ones. Fleshie faces I get a lot of will be sold. Along with a lot of the fleshie faces from Star Wars and Prince of Persia that I've already gotten. It's unfortunate that we're stuck with fleshies for licensed themes. A lot of the sets and the new pieces will be great for adding to MOCs. I wish that cannons came in more sets than QAR and shakos continued. -
General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Capn Frank replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
I agree completely Derfel. -
How is this different from the other Castle or Pirates topic?

This is a great idea for a MOC. Thanks for sharing. I agree! Ducks are delicious!

Mr. Play Well, You could upload your photos to a free upload site (like brickshelf.com or flickr.com) and then post the images into this thread. Here is a link to EB's very own Tutorial Index. There you'll find tutorials about how to upload photos onto Brickshelf and post picture.

I do not believe the bow coming out so fast is that big of a deal. Most hulls at the bow have close to a semi-circular shape, an then railing is added going to where the figurehead is located and bowsprit is mounted to give the bow a more pointed look. The 7-stud spacing would make the ship more realistic to mini-fig scale.

I really enjoyed getting to know Zorro in the forums. For a Lego pirate, I was very surprised by the amount of generosity, consideration, and friendliness. I would have loved to meet him in real life given the opportunity. He will be missed by myself and the classic-pirates forum. -Frederick

The image you have posted for this model needs to be down-sized to 800x600. This photo will take a very long time to upload for people with slower internet. Assistance with down-sizing photos can be found in our indes of Tutorials. Do you have an idea what the dimensions in studs/bricks for this vessel will be?

There are a lot of nice details in this Moc. I like the idea to use the old surfboard as a long board.

So, why Ratshot?!? I'm sure you do. Or maybe that's where your Lego is stored. Sweet! My wife also volunteers as an EMT at our local fire department. Ah-hem! Why isn't Lego on this list? That's cool that you would like to join the reserves. I was in the Wisconsin Army National Guard, which is similar to the reserves, with the same level of training as full-time Army and Army Reserves. Thanks for sharing er.. Broadside, Michael, Mike... er.. Ratshot.

Comming out of my own Dark Ages...
Capn Frank replied to OrangeKNight's topic in Hello! My name is...
Welcome to EB and welcome out of the dark, Horribly Lost and Confused What are you exactly are you lost and confused about? As a regular bricklink user I would recommend getting a paypal account if you don't already have one. It's very addicting ordering from BL once you start, because it's a great site to get exactly what you need (and want). -
Welcome back Simon! Thank you for sharing your great city. The Lego store idea is just plain awesome. I am so surprised that I have not seen anyone make one sooner.

What's wrong with being lazy?! You're the one that doesn't want to stay outside and went indoors. Hey, and where's my refill of coffee?! Hurry up will ya! That is A LOT of progress! I'm impressed. The color, details, and everything look great! I like you're raised quarter deck. It looks really good so far. That will mean your vessel will probably be taller than flush-decked vessels that are similar in size. The back of the back of the stern seems a little flat. But I really have no idea how to have it curved. I'm certain those black plates will be tiled like the rest of the ship. On a large build like this, a person is definitely going to run out of certain bricks and continue to build.

Dirty Bert, If you go to one of your Flickr links, follow these steps: - Select "Share This" above the photo in Flickr - In the popup menu, select "Grab the HTML/BBCode - Then, select the "BBCode" button instead of the "HTML" button - The window tells you to copy and paste the code below, but you do not need all of it -- The portion you need to highlight and copy is the first portion of the code that contains the following (Without the asterisks) [*url=webpage][*img]the image's webpage[*/img][*/url] - Finally, paste the "code" that you copied (whether it's the whole or a portion of it from Flickr) onto your post On a side note, you can go back and edit your posts with images instead of just links. Yeah you're right. I fixed it, but I don't know how a messed url link would cause the last half of my post to be doubled. I would check out Captain Green Hair's topic: Build a Frigate w/ Captain Green Hair Thread He uses a technique where regular bricks can be used instead of using sloped bricks to get the Tumblehome Effect.
