  1. Thank you spongebrickpl. I've added this set to the Pirate Set Reviews Index.
  2. I think I will always have nostalgia for the "glory days" when all of my "buddies" were still active. After being a part of this forum for 8 1/2 years, I've seen lots of staff come and go, a ton of members come and go. Some of us have even come back. I don't believe for a second that this forum is on the brink of anarchy. There are a lot of great new members here, and there are still a lot of older members who participate.
  3. All of the Eurobricks staff are volunteers checking the forums on their free time. They aren't perfect either, and things get missed. Thank you for reporting the post. I agree, posts like that should not be tolerated.
  4. Great little apple tree. Tree-huggers would love this.
  5. That's a great idea. And those at the heart of civilization will think of fantastic creatures as myth or fairy tales.
  6. You can never change your title, nor can you ask for a particular one. Only the staff are gracious enough give you one and pick it for you. Wear that title with pride. My title switched from 'Kinda Back' to 'Back'. I guess it's official. I'm back.
  7. I do like the idea of voodoo for islanders. It's in POTC.
  8. What are you talking about? If you're trying to be offensive, then at least use complete sentences with proper sentence structure to make yourself seem more intelligent. See site guidelines.
  9. I guess I am questioning what difference there really is between a Chima pirate and a regular pirate. I guess it could be argued that a Chima pirate is stronger and tougher, but I bet they still die if they're sliced by a saber or shot with a cannon. I don't have any Chima, but it could be pretty cool to have a Chima pirate crew. A islander catamaran of Alligator men. A pirate ship full of wolves.
  10. I think it's a non-issue. It's already self regulated in a way. I have not seen a lot of magical pirate MOCs in the forum, so I don't think it will happen much in BoBS. I could be wrong, since I have only been active again for the past couple of months.
  11. Thanks Nocties. Thanks, it's based off of the Sumerian design, but it's much bigger and the front wheels turn with the steeds. Um.. yes. A minor oversight. Maybe some of them will be trading genders in future MOCs.
  12. I wish to join the Nocturnus Guild, not your typical evil people-group though.
  13. Are "sets" in the classic pirates theme supposed to be posted in this forum or the pirate one? If they're posted in separate forums, there could be a link to each sister thread at the start of each thread.
  14. Thank you for the additional complements. A waterline version would require a complete redesign. The entire boat is held together by upside-down technic bricks at the keel.
  15. Changing the discussion to something less contentious: We need some banners for each faction in BoBS. I don't think we need to make any images from scratch and should be able to utilize some of the classic-pirates banners. Some of my favorites include: We're missing pirates and green coats.
  16. The whole moc is very well done. That jeep is a great design. If you're looking for other ideas for this theme, there's always the operating room, ambulance, the mess, Rosie's bar, ... ...you could have multiple waves.
  17. Thank you all for the kind words. Thank you KB. This vessel's dimensions are based upon one of the USS Constitution's 30' cutters. I may have to add a cannon to it and have it be a gunboat. Thanks for the idea. That 'MONKEY' was actually an Ewok.
  18. I understand the point of excluding LDD MOCs if physical prizes are involved. If I were the one paying for prizes of a competition, I would still not have a problem if an LDD MOCer won and ship them the loot. I bet LDD MOCers would appreciate the prize more than I would, because I would most likely already have the set. I think this is a valid point. I prefer to use non-lego string and fabric for rigging and sails. I would not want those vessels being excluded in a blanketed Lego bricks only rule. There are others in the pirate forum who use clone bricks too. I think the BoBS should be inclusive rather than inclusive.
  19. 172A It's a Longboat or Jolly Boat right now, but I'll be converting it into a Cutter when I get the chance. In other words, it'll get sails someday. I've made one of these before in white eons ago. There were only minor improvements in the hull and the rudder is completely remade. I like this design of this rudder much more. I've recently acquired the key bricks needed to make this vessel possible at a draft of the Forest Animals set last weekend during a WisLUG meeting. Enjoy!
  20. Everything is really well done! Great work. The only comment I have is that Bonaparte should have short legs.
  21. Looking good so far. Are you able to have angles less than 90? Here's a Wiki link to Star Forts. Here's a diagram that shows the controls of the star fort's geometry in the Wiki article.
  22. As an ex-despiser of the digital brick, I would say we should allow digital bricks to be used. Digital users are getting very skilled at creating MOCs and displaying mini-figs, like Dunkleosteus and Kolonialbeamter. They also seem to be a significant portion of MOCers in the pirate forum. With the 'magic' these guys are doing in LDD, I would not want to discourage or bar these guys from participating.
  23. I did not know that. Thanks Kabel. I'm still using them on my Green Coats though.
  24. Mac users are going to hate me now, but you could use PowerPoint to add dots and text boxes to an existing image.
