  1. I agree with all that blueandwhite said, so i'll just say dito. :-)
  2. 4d The color scheme and everything else pretty much is well done with the Serapis-II: Picture is link to the Brickshelf folder I think the blue detailing looks good with the sails. And there isn't too much blue, a good asthetic balance. This ship is made by matthew1980
  3. I got the UCS Batmobile for 35 USD today at Wal-mart and was shocked at the amount of usable bricks in it!! For Pirates that is. Set # is 7784 For those serious about someday making a Black Pearl (or any black vessel), there are a lot of bricks included that'll help with detailing. For instance: 12 of these 1 of these and a bunch of black and and a whole bunch of wedge bricks and plates. Since most bricks are black, there isn't a significant abount of bley, for those anti-bleyists. Peeron parts list
  4. Those green rubberbands are included in the bionicle sets shown in the previous post. They are lego rubberbands.
  5. Have you checked out the Custom Cannons thread. There are some other ideas for ways to make MOC cannons. That's an awesome figurehead!! *y* Very unique and kool looking. :) I agree with Mr. Tiber; the main mast is too tall, though i'd keep the main mast a little taller than the foremast. I see the influence of the Black Seas Barracuda on this vessel and components from the Viking long boat :) Nice ship so far *y*. Phred

There isn't a captain's cabin (yet) There really isn't anything below the gun deck right now, besides... .... eh emptiness Duke will be working on mainly the interior and rigging and maybe the gundeck. Dunno when anything'll be done.
  7. Nice job Simon! it's closer to being a "flagship" than the original model. the mast placement looks pretty good. that 1x4 black railing piece looks out of place on the poop deck. but that's the only thing i don't like on it. Phred
  8. the black lightsaber pieces and those 3x3 round pieces with 6 technic pin-holes hold the cannons on. Not too stable, but it does rotate. The rubberbands add stability. The rubber bands come from 3 bionicle sets like one of these:
  9. Here is my attempt at the triple guns. It
  10. Wow i didn't realize these pics were that old! I agree, this vessel shouldn't be judged too harshly... ...According to the lugnet thread, this ship was also his first big MOC. I don't know about yous guys, but my first serious MOC was a joke compared to the frigate i'm completing now. I'm sure Tony can build much better MOCs in the last 6 years (unless he went into the dark ages 8-o )
  11. Col., I'd go with the basic lego colors and (if you are able) add some waves to the water (maybe some fishies) and rocks, twigs, debris, etc into the land. Main reason is that if you want to mix in some plates to mount some models, they'll blend in. I'd go with option 1 Although if you're not going to have any blue plates in the water, I'd have the water a different color. Also another consideration, try having the beach tan instead of yellow. It may look more realistic. I'm guessing the if lego made current beach models, they'd be tan instead of yellow. All the adventure sets came with tan instead of yellow in the desert sets (i.e. a really big beach :-D )
  12. They look pretty kool *y* but what's a vignette?? Should make another post with the actual pics on the post. Just a suggestion. :-)
  13. Oh I see.. then i guess nevermind on what the website is then. i'm more of a pirate type *pirate* ( arrrrr!) see ya foruming, Phred
  14. I agree, this individual should have used a brick-built hull or cut their hull pieces in half to provide more width. This MOC definetely has serious firepower. Besides the width the rest of the proportions are great. As said already the bow could use a little work. I like how well the rigging is made. I like the coloring too.
  15. i like the longer length also. I have no problem with the mixing of diff colored hulls. They are pretty close in color to me (but then again i am color-blind) i just try very hard to only mix the bleys and rown with the classic colors when using very large bricks like a hull. otherwise with the smaller bricks, i may forget that i mixed them in the construction and mix them up in my organizer-drawers. ...N-E-Wayz I look forward to the completed model! keep us posted. Phred
  16. hmmm... ... let me try this eh six 2x2 round bricks; a bucket from everyone's favorite belville sets; a black xwing engine (though i dunno if it's painted or not?); a 3x3 cone that goes to 2x2 round; six 1x2 bricks with axel holes; 1x4 tile, couple of gear thingy's (one's big and the other is small); support thingy for the big gear; eight to ten misc technic beam thingy's with various shapes, axel holes, and pin holes; and how ever many axels that are required to hold the whole thing together *sweet* . I'm normally not very good at tests so hopefully i did ok. though i'm not very up on all the proper terms for each brick or very thorough for that matter :-D Phred
  17. Nice MOC I really like the pipe!!! *y* That's an awesome idea. i'm going to have to "borrow" that idea for my mocs. :-) the water wheel is great too. Oh and the diagonal black lines. I like how they're done. Very creative. Keep up the good work. Phred
  18. Hey Bonaparte, My frigate is not fully complete yet. It doesn't need to be on the index (yet) if you're only posting complete ships. I'll probably PM the link for the completed thumbnail when i'm done if you like.
  19. The great library has a similar thread? if it does then let them be merged! If you want to make a new thread on the Great Library, then I'd say aye. Move this thread to the Library. Edit: Wow that was fast!
  20. I didn't mean to offend you at all and I'm sorry if i did. Every canadian i've personally met has been a really cool person in my book. *y* Look forward to your progress pics. That's pretty neat that you're modeling a real ship. Which books or websites did you read about Horatio Nelson?
  21. That's a great idea for a naval gun!! Dem be purty :'-) hey what's the part # for the 3x3 domed piece? i know i don't have one of them! thanx Phred Edit: thanx again kurt!
  22. That's a lot of MF's! Though for historical accuracy sake, I would hope you'd have more MF's for the Agamemnon, but it really doesn't matter i guess. dude that's a lot of string! 8-o you could make a lego basket out of those strings, or make a lego knitted sweater. I just use Wal-mart String. I'm cheap :-$ . BTW: Where'd you get the name Agamemnon and what does it mean (if you know)? I dunno if it's Canadian or not :-D .
  23. Yes i did go through photoshopcontest. Sorry if it seemed a little wierd. I get carried away clicking from one link to another until i can't click no more. Sorry my lord, I didn't know. ;-)
  24. Welcome Optimax X, Though i have to warn ya, there are a number of us Americans on here. Far from a majority though, i think. I really like this forum, hopefully it's not boring for ya. I 've never heard of BZP. What is it's domain? Edit: LOL!!!
  25. Eh? Capn, You posted two very similar one line comments about the same vessel in less that 24 hours. Are you all right matey?
