  1. My rock island refuge i'm pretty sure came with non-shooting cannons and hollow studs and my instructions also say that the stud is solid on the instructions. Also looks like the cannon was originally a shooter. Sw Chief, You should check out bricklink.com for individual lego bricks and sets. Sometimes they're cheaper than ebay on the sets too *y* P
  2. These are awesome Legopirate *y* (carefull, the pics are HUGE) I really like the carpenter and the water-pump. P Edit: I'll have to add that water pump and carpenter's hammer to the Index of Accessory MOCs *y*
  3. Don't worry, those are my bro's MFs mostly. But i'll post later w/ pics explaining why they're on my ship Oh yeah it's still strong enough. There can be up to 9 technic pins connecting each side of the Z-extension and two 1x4 tiles for the ship deck to make it look smooth on top. Thanx B. P
  4. Growing up, i had only the non-shooting cannons with the cross cannon on top and hollow studded MF on my pirate sets. I got my first Black Seas Barracuda in 1992, and got the Skull's Eye Schooner in 1993. Other sets i had gotten around this time include the 6270 forbidden island and 6273 rock island refuge and multiple smaller sets. In 1994 i got all the islander sets and they also had the hollow studded MFs. The sets listed above are all US sets that were available in stores at the time. It wasn't until i got the original Carribean Clipper and other parts of sets from a friend of mine did i acquire shooting cannons and cannons with a black peg thingy. But when i got these from my friend, everything was really mixed together. :-/ Hope that helps. P
  5. Nice this new sub-forum it is. Dominating the theater forum for a while now Star Wars has. Now Ruling the theater forum it would seem. he-he-he-he *yoda* on P
  6. Here are some closeups of the top deck (quarter deck ? :S ) of my frigate: One of 2 anchors on the bow. This bell is right in front of the mizzen mast. I changed the bell to something more similar to Z's bell tower on his fort brighton. I think it looks better now. Here's the compass in front of the steering. There's a modified 1x1 plate on the compass to designate exactly which direction is forward on the ship. Here's a fully functional crane (one on each side) for raising and lowering rowboats on my frigate. It's between the main and mizzen mast. I used spickets as "hooks", which makes it real easy to "hook" onto lego rowboats. X-D A thumbnail link of a pic at a different angle. I call this the Z-extension. :-D It's how i was able to lengthen my frigate 6 studs so that there is a larger gap between the mizzen and main mast. *y* P
  7. Maedhros, Those Celts look great *y* That's a lot of painted faces you've got there. P
  8. Of course the Master Index Builder has the USS Constitution in the Wiki index. He has got super-powers after all :-D The USS Constitution has rescantly become my favorite ship. The more i read about it, the more i like it :) I'm hoping to build a lego version comparible to this someday. P
  9. Hey Dreamweb, I know what color you should make their ship. White :-D Those are some great looking soldiers there mate. *y* P
  10. That's a nice MOC B *y* I like the flower you put in a lot better than the ones it came with. Too bad about loosing the garage though 8-| , i guess the governor is going to have to park his Luxury car elsewhere. :-D have you started on the interior yet? The design of both of these houses are very similar 8-o That's pretty kool. It's pretty kool that ol' Joshua going to get his own plot of land next year. That's very kind of the governor. BTW, who did Bonaparte nominate as the governor? On the side topic: I never care about political correctness. It's dumb and way over rated. *n* :-P P Edit: Hey B, I found some ideas for furniture for your mansion. At the Accessory Index
  11. I don't see why not :) So i put it in. Thanx B. P
  12. That's a good vig Athos. I really like way the tablets are made. *y* Do you plan on making any more old testament MOCs besides this one and the parting of the sea one? P
  13. Index: Accessory MOCs (continued) Mini-fig Accessories Video Tutorial
  14. 4/5 The main reason i gave it a 4 is the fact that there are 2 figs and a cannon for this set. I'm guessing it'd cost 5-10 USD when it was originally released. and that's a good price for the cannon, figs and accessoried too. *y* Although i don't know how much it'd cost on BL right now :-/ P Edit: This set also comes with a shooting cannon. I've always liked those better than the non-shooters. Also, this set is available for less than 10 USD on BL.
  15. This is a great MOC *y* I too love how it's got modularized construction. It really helps to have modularization on larger MOCs in case they need to be transported to your brother's house or to a show X-D I'd be curious to know if the masts are removable too. P
  16. Accessory MOC Index What is this index for? This is an index for all those smaller creations that are part of larger MOCs, but add an extra element of realism to one’s Lego creation. The idea here is to have this index so that others can use and modify these ideas so that we can create more realistic MOCs. How is this indexed? The Accessory Index is sorted by ship type. You can view your options directly below this introduction. Most pictures are linked to the Eurobricks discussion topic, but some of the earlier ones aren't. To find the discussion topics for these, please follow these simple instructions: - Click on a thumbnail to go to the Brickshelf gallery. - Copy the numbers at the end of the URL of the Brickshelf gallery. - Click here to go to the search engine of Eurobricks for the Pirates MOC forum. - Paste the numbers in the "Search by Keywords"-field and click on "Perform the search". Anyway you can help? You can help by giving suggestions and informing us about items that have not been indexed. You can ask questions, give suggestions, and inform us about items that have not been indexed in this very thread. To what extent is this updated? Behold! This index's content needs to be updated! Please bare with us while we work on it. 17. Oh i would say you could have a lot of cargo in a lego ship if the ship isn't armed to the teeth X-D It could be a treasure galleon of the US with a GPS system and satelite telephone P
  18. Maedhros, Are you the builder of this ship or do you know who is? That's really neat little ship there. I'd add some facets to the front of the ship, and some of the tumblehome effect That's a real nice job on the sails. P
  19. Hey Frank, Do you know if Ben has more pics of this MOC online and where? I'd be very interested to know, cause this summer (hopefully) i plan to start on my own USS Constitution *y* P
  20. Thanx for the find Mr. P I saved that Captain Redbeard Gif in my BS account for later use X-D P
  21. Hey Z, If you find one in the twin cities, let me know and i'll see if i can come too *y* And maybe norrington with fort victoria. I'm gonna see if i can make it to the Chicago one. Just registered at their site. Not sure though :-/ P
  22. LOL :-D In POTC small axes were used to cut the ropes connecting the Dauntless and Interceptor when Will and Jack were taking it and axes were used at lots of other parts of the movie. Also in Master & commander, there were small axes used in hand to hand combat. between the men of Archeron and HMS Surprise. P
  23. It would be really tough for Z to get his moc to Brickfest in Portland :S It's about 1700 miles or about 2500 km from Minnesota. It's about the same distance for me too. It would be nice to know if there are any brick conventions in the midwest. :-$ P
  24. The height of the main mast is about right. It's about the same height as the length of the gun-deck. The only ship i was using as a reference for this is HMS Surprise. It's main mast is 130 feet tall and it's gun-deck is 135 feet long. The placement of the mast platforms were placed by however it was convenient for the construction of the masts. The main mast platform is pretty high, but i figure it's ok since it's not an actual replica of any one frigate. If i make a model of an actual ship, say the USS Constitution, I'll be much more particular about accuracy than convenience. X-D The bowsprit is way too long however and will be shortened by about 20 studs, it's about 50 studs long right now. :S P
  25. Going into my BS account a came upon a newly moderated folder with this ship in it with other views than the one on the first post Here's the BS link to the Brig Sloop of War :) Here're some thumbnail links: * * It's a nice little sloop. I'd probably have the cannons on the bottom deck spaced at least 4 studs apart (although 3 studs apart is ok) And smaller cannons on the top decks. P
