  1. Bib Fortuna never wore a cape in the films. The new minifigure is more accurate in that regard. I think this is another case of being more accustomed to the design of the previous minifigure over what is actually depicted in the movie itself. The fat headpiece is really the only thing wrong here.
  2. Iceman does exist in the 97 universe though. He was seen in the portrait of the original X-Men team, appeared as one of Forge's potential new recruits in the finale and was shown in the opening credits calling back to the Cold Comfort episode from the original series. In regards to Jean what gives away that her new minifigure is based on the show is the belt. Her costume was redesigned for X-Men 97 and the torso print reflects her updated look rather than the one seen in the comics and original animated series. One other thing that's worth mentioning is that the Avengers Tower didn't have any Infinity Saga or Avengers movie logos on its box art either. The Daily Bugle also didn't feature any Spider-Man branding. The only modular that has referenced its source material on the box art is the Sanctum Sanctorum.
  3. Brick Clicker has confirmed the character line up in his latest video.
  4. Most of us already predicted this but Magneto is now confirmed as the final figure in the X-Mansion. It isn't specified which version but I think its safe to assume it will be the same one from the X-Jet.
  5. Looks like my prediction was correct on Bib Fortuna reusing the Book of Boba Fett headpiece. He does come with a new face and torso print so at least the figure isn't completely recycled.
  6. The reveal date is rumored to be September 17th.
  7. Face printing on black heads looks terrible most of the time but the Catwoman that came with the Shadow Box was one of their better efforts. Hopefully the quality on Gambit is closer to that figure and nothing like Mercy from Overwatch.
  8. Considering how long we've been stuck with the micro figure over the past several years I have no problem with Ant-Man appearing in more than one set. Shame there's no sign of a non-phasing Vision anytime soon though.
  9. Looks like I was wrong about the hairpiece. I like the way the braid naturally hangs over the shoulder now rather than awkwardly wrapping around the chain on the back. Hopefully its hard plastic this time instead of rubber. I don't think the dual molded legs were necessary when the previous design looked more movie accurate. Can't seem to find the Jabba pic anywhere.
  10. The Endgame Final Battle set sounds pretty boring to me. Its just becoming more of the same at this point. The only interesting parts are the new Ant-Man figure and possibly Iron Spider depending on whether he has dual molding or not.
  11. I think Max Rebo will have his own head mold but it wouldn't surprise me if they cut costs on Leia's hairpiece and use a generic piece instead. I'm also curious to see what they do with Bib Fortuna. I'm expecting that they will reuse the BOBF headpiece again despite its inaccuracies to ROTJ.
  12. Is a X-Men Advent Calendar really all that exciting though? If its anything like the past three we've gotten from Marvel its likely going to feature recycled minifigures and Christmas sweaters. What we really need at the moment is more new characters. The X-Mansion is a step in the right direction but there's still a LOT of ground left to cover between fleshing out the team and expanding the roster of villains.
  13. I don't mind which sets we get either but I do want to see the original cast completed as soon as possible. That includes both the characters that were skipped over last time as well as the ones that are yet to receive modern updates.
  14. I'd definitely prefer a X-Men CMF over another Marvel Studios one. It would more than make up for the lack of any new X-Men sets coming out next year.
  15. Alternate heads for Morph is a great idea. I'd like to see Apocalypse saved for a future set. I think he'll benefit far more from being released as a big fig instead of a standard minifigure. Between the other two choices I'd rather get Sinister first before Bastion. Jean looks good for the most part. I'm not bothered by the lack of leg printing as she doesn't really need it. The color of the hair piece is an interesting choice as I don't think we've ever had one in reddish orange before. My only concern is the printing quality on the dark blue head. Lego hasn't had a good track record with the Captain America figures and I hope they've improved the opacity here.
  16. The sales of the Daily Bugle shouldn't even be a factor. The earliest we can realistically expect the next modular to release is the second half of 2025 and by that point the Bugle will already be winding down its production run. If Lego decides to keep November as the release date for all superhero modulars going forward you'll be lucky to even find the Bugle still in stock.
  17. I don't have high hopes for the Triskelion ever happening. Its not an iconic location and SHIELD is much more closely associated with the Helicarrier as its base of operations. The architecture of the building would also make it difficult to pull off as a modular. Either the exterior gets a larger than normal footprint or the interior rooms are too small and cramped to do anything with. I can't see the Avengers Compound happening either while the Avengers Tower is still on shelves. The Avengers Mansion seems even less likely as it conflicts with both the tower and the X-Mansion. I like the NYC idea. It would be a great way to cover a variety of different street heroes. Although rather than a single apartment building I'd probably go more for a collection of different establishments like Assembly Square. I'd love a Malibu Mansion modular. I think 2028 could be a good year for one as it would be the perfect celebration for the 20th anniversary of Iron Man's first film. Someone also brought up a good point earlier about the Fantastic Four being confirmed to appear in both upcoming Avengers films. Knowing they're going to be prominent on the big screen for the next 3 years does give Lego a much more flexible time frame for releasing a potential Baxter Building instead of trying to force it out next year. I still think Superman is a more likely candidate for the next modular building than another Spider-Man one is. If DC does get the next modular then a Helicarrier remake would be a good alternative for Marvel's yearly D2C spot.
  18. Looking forward to updated versions of Iron Patriot and Rescue. Shame the Iron Man figures will be reuses instead of new suits. Nice to finally have a regular sized Ant-Man figure after getting the micro version for so long. Hopefully Hawkeye's Ronin costume and War Machine's new suit are among the remaining Endgame figures. I don't mind that they're changing the CMF mold. It always seemed like an odd decision to only articulate the tips of the wings on that figure. Would be nice if the new mold is fully articulated this time.
  19. Barad-Dur would be a good example of how to pull it off. Go microscale for the exterior of the palace but keep the interior rooms on the backside of the set in minifigure scale.
  20. I don't see why Thor wouldn't be enough. He's become a huge fan favorite since Ragnarok and Infinity War, Asgard is one of the MCU's most recognizable locations after the Avengers Tower and we've already gotten an 18+ set based on Thor's hammer. On top of that we've already seen several adult themed sets (D2C or otherwise) based on a variety of different Marvel heroes. Captain America has his shield. Black Panther has a bust. Rocket and Groot each have buildable figures. Star-Lord has his helmet. Wolverine has his claws. The Guardians have two UCS-style ships. And as someone else mentioned Doctor Strange has a modular which despite incorporating elements of Infinity War it is still a set primarily focused on Doctor Strange as the central character first and foremost. Lego really isn't the nanny state some think they are. After all the mental gymnastics on here surrounding why a modular X-Mansion would never happen, it doesn't hurt to keep an open mind.
  21. I think both Asgard and Oscorp will be made eventually, I just don't expect either of them to happen next year.
  22. I was never expecting any of them to get sets for their solo entries. Our best hope is that they show up in Spider-Man 4, Doomsday and Secret Wars.
  23. The Mandalorian and Grogu movie has a new trailer floating around from D23. Still a year and a half away from release but I'm calling it now:
  24. I'd like to get Bastion but I don't have high hopes of Lego releasing him. His appearance on the show was mostly kept a secret up until the episodes aired and is seemingly a one-and-done villain that won't have much impact for the series going forward. No Apocalypse would be inexcusable though as he's one of the X-Men's biggest foes. Now that Magneto and the Sentinels are out the way Apocalypse, Mystique, Sabertooth, Mr. Sinister and Juggernaut are the five villains that should be prioritized next.
  25. I hope so. I'm getting tired of waiting for the Balrog and Eowyn/Witch-King battle to happen.
