Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Who else could they have included with the Leviathan that hasn't been done before? Lego has covered all the major players from the first Avengers film that its impossible to avoid repeats going forward now. -

To be fair Cyclops and Rogue were also new figures at the time of the X-Jet's release. Its taken close to a year for them to be reused in another set. Nightcrawler and Jubilee are my top choices for the Sentinel (unless there's another Marvel CMF in the pipeline). Sinister and Bastian would also be good options so we can finally get more villains. I'd like to see Morph released eventually but he's easily my least anticipated character from the show. -

Glad we're getting something for the X-Men next year. Hopefully the two unknown minifigures will be new characters rather than repeats. -

Even Piell and Eeth Koth also need another release. Like Shaak Ti they've only been done once before in the Clone Wars style printing. Adi Gallia hasn't been made yet either and I'd prefer getting her over another Stass Allie. -

I'd also throw in Mastermold and Asteroid M to that list. They're really teasing us with that comic Vision. Hopefully next year sets do well so we can start getting more comic variants of the Avengers instead of just the MCU versions all the time. I'm hoping the rumors are true about the F4 being comic based. If we get the Baxter Building as the next modular it would open up so many more possibilities for what characters could be included. It might be the only shot we have at ever getting a Kang minifigure. -

The X-Mansion looks fantastic! The final product really did it justice in the end and I'm looking forward to seeing how the interior turned out. Seeing the Sentinel in better quality really makes me hope it gets a stand alone release even more next year. The quality of the minifigures could be a lot better but at least we're finally starting to expand upon the roster. The Airport diorama on the other hand looks rubbish. The original set did a much better job at capturing the scene than this one does and the character selection isn't really bringing much new to the table. One look at the logo set and all I see is a red Batcave Shadowbox. The Cap variant is nice though. -

I don't think anyone is expecting a massive amount of sets for ROTS. Full waves for a single movie have become a thing of the past and the last couple of anniversaries have only given us a handful of sets to celebrate them. The recent anniversaries celebrating specific media (ROTJ, TPM, Clone Wars) have all been cross promotion across different brands directed under Lucasfilm. Its not something Lego alone has decided to do. A good indicator of knowing if anything is on the table is if another company like Hasbro is releasing any product since they all share the same anniversary branding. The only anniversaries that have been exclusive to Lego in recent years are the ones celebrating the Lego Star Wars theme as a whole. -

While I'm not buying the rumor as legitimate just yet, I will say that D2C doesn't always mean modular building. I think it would make more sense for Lego to release the Malibu Mansion as a stand alone display piece like Rivendell was. A big part of what makes the location stand out is its ocean side clifftop setting and I don't think you can pull that off convincingly while also trying to force compatibility with the other modular buildings. We did also get a D2C Batcave and Avengers Tower in the same year so two locations for 2025 wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility. -
The Shire as the next LOTR set sounds exciting but I still can't help but feel disappointed Gondor is once again on the backburner with no Faramir or Eowyn in sight. This is why we need smaller sets that can focus on other neglected areas of the franchise. I'd love for the set to include characters from the Hobbit (even if its just the five main dwarves like the BOFA sets) but I expect the minifigure selection will be based strictly on the LOTR trilogy.

Didn't one of the more credible leakers imply something related to Wolverine was coming next year but didn't elaborate what it was? Regardless it will be disappointing if we don't get anymore X-Men sets next year. The theme is starting to become too over saturated with Infinity Saga remakes that we need more variety with other superheroes. Fingers crossed we at least get another Marvel CMF series. -

3-4 reused minifigures with a Sentinel would be disappointing. There's still too many important characters from Season 1 that haven't been covered yet and it would be a shame to waste those limited spots on existing figures we already have. At most I think a Sentinel should limit the number of repeats to just Wolverine and one other character. Anyone else included with the set should be brand new. If Lego wants to reuse any other minifigures from the X-Mansion they should stick them in the Advent Calendar. That's what its there for. -

I think in Peter's case the differences between the MCU and comic minifigures are so minimal that no one is going to notice or care which version it's based on. Both versions serve the same purpose. Its Peter Parker. There's nothing to be confused about. Mary Jane and Michelle Jones on the other hand are so drastically different from one another they might as well be two separate characters. The MJ nickname is really the only thing the two have in common. In this instance I can understand why they would want to stick with just the one version. Glad most of the parts are being focused on Galactus and not wasted on any side builds. I don't have any problems with him being roughly the same scale as the construction figures as I was never expecting a Lego version to be any bigger than that anyway. -

I like the idea of including the piloting headgear as long as its only printed on one side. There should still be an alternative facial expression without it like Obi-Wan had in the Jedi Starfighter. -

I don't mind if the movie does get skipped next year. Knowing that the Fantastic Four will be returning again soon for the upcoming Avengers sequels means that MCU variants of the characters are inevitable. At the end of the day I'm just happy that the team is finally coming to Lego. Galactus is a great start and if we also end up with the Fantasticar and Baxter Building by year's end I couldn't ask for anything more. -

The breakdown by Clay Bricks on Galactus is interesting. "There will be one set based on a Marvel movie, but not sure if this is the number or description." Regardless whether the Galactus rumor turns out to be true or false, it doesn't sound like there's going to be much product planned for next year's movie slate. -

Glad we're finally getting Enoch and the Night Troopers but its a shame there's still no sign of the Great Mothers showing up anytime soon. An army of zombie Stormtroopers will always be incomplete without a trio of space witches around to resurrect them. -

He really needs a complete redesign. The original head mold has always been terrible right from its release with how squished it was. It would be nice to finally have a Plo Koon figure that hasn't been trapped in a trash compactor. -

The team only has four members. Is there really much point in spreading them out? Judging by the set's title I'm beginning to have doubts about us getting a 3 set wave for the film. I'm leaning more towards it being a one-and-done situation like The Marvels was, or if we're lucky an appetizer for the next modular like Gargantos and the X-Jet were. -

That's more or less what I expect to happen. Marvel Advent Calendars rarely ever include new characters in them compared to other Lego themes. I don't mind an X-Men Advent Calendar having recycled figures if it lessens the chances of getting repeats in other potential sets like a Sentinel. -

Its a shame about the long wait but hopefully Lego will take this time to catch up on the remaining characters from the first season. Aside from expanding the team roster I think its also important to release Sinister and Bastion now while they still can. I don't expect to see much next year beyond a potential Advent Calendar and the Sentinel getting a stand alone release like the Leviathan did. I am hoping Marvel gets a third CMF series as that would really go a long way in helping flesh out the roster of X-Men characters. -

Jango Fett's Slave I is unexpected. Glad that the prequels are continuing to get the UCS treatment but its also a shame we're not getting a play scale version anytime soon. That would've been a good opportunity for a Lama Su or Zam Wesell figure. -

The movie itself looks like it will be fun but aside from US Agent and Red Guardian I'm not seeing anything that really appeals to me from a Lego perspective. Bucky is already coming in the Airport Battle diorama, the other characters have been done before but now have generic new costumes and there doesn't appear to be much set potential beyond the standard Lego City vehicles being repackaged under the Marvel branding. White is accurate to how Iceman appears in the X-Men Animated Series, X-Men 97 and Spider-Man's Amazing Friends. I think they made the right call keeping his design in line with the other characters from those shows for the sake of consistency. Blue would be more appropriate if they went with a modern comic version of the character. Glad we're not getting a repeat of the X-Jet figure. Hopefully they've updated the face print with a less cheerful expression. I'm guessing he'll be using the new rubber cape Thor and Loki have. Overall 6/10 new figures (plus printed legs for Cyclops and the Sentinel head) for the mansion isn't too bad in the end. I still hope we can expand more of the team's roster and start getting some new villains next year. I'm going to say zero chance. They didn't give dual molding to Cyclops or Gambit so I can't really see Magneto getting it. I think the best we can hope for is leg printing. -

Never really cared for the 4+ Spidey and his Amazing Friends sets due to how childish they looked but I have to admit these dinosaur sets sound like they could be fun. -

Disappointing to see there's barely any playsets coming in the first half of the year. I was hoping ROTS would have had a bigger presence in the theme's line up. Fingers crossed the summer wave can turns things around. Perhaps the summer wave could include a remake of 2009's Battle of Endor set combining the AT-ST with the Shield Bunker while the MBS set focuses on the Ewok Village? Hopefully this isn't the end of the Jabba themed sets. They went to the effort of bringing the old mold back it would be a shame not to reuse it again in a new throne room set. Would be good to revisit the Rancor Pit and Droid Dungeon too while they're at it.
