  1. The Schumacher films may be the worst Batman adaption to date but they do still have their fans. The Funko and DC Direct figures based on those films have sold surprisingly well (with Poison Ivy's figure in particular being very popular) so there is an audience out there. Still I wish Lego would have done a lot more with BTAS. Its a shame if the Batmobile and Gotham City Skyline are all we get from the show.
  2. Even if the new Arkham set were based on the comics I don't think there is any chance of Lego incuding never-before-made C list villains like that. Previous Arkham sets have always gone for the safe mainstream options like Joker, Harley, Ivy, Scarecrow, Riddler, Two-Face etc. With the current state of the theme on life support I don't expect the new set to be any different regardless what source material it is based on.
  3. I don't think anyone's surprised by the lack of sets. Just disappointed to see the momentum being killed so quickly after finally getting the X-Men back from such a long absence. Isn't that roughly the same depth as Peter's previous apartment from the Sanctum Sanctorum? I expect the new set will be pretty similar to that.
  4. Its a shame its not a combination of both. That would have been the best outcome. Only one minifigure is disappointing. Hopefully it is compatible with Arkham Asylum so we can at least get the rest of the Schumacher cast there.
  5. According to Clay_Bricks Oscorp is said to be comics-based.
  6. First thought I had was a vehicle for Two-Face based on the car chase that occurs halfway through the film. Lego have done a similar set before with the 2012 Batmobile. Alternatively there's also the Batwing and Batboat from the end of the film but I think it makes more sense to pair those two together.
  7. Pretty disappointing line up overall. Oscorp is easily the highlight of the wave and while I would have preferred a modular version its still great to see Lego finally shaking up the Spider-Man theme with new material. I'm even more curious what the Marvel D2C is going to be now that Oscorp has been ruled out for that spot. Aside from the Quinjet I'm completely bored of the Infinity Saga sets now. Its the same crap being recycled over and over. Do we really need two Endgame playsets this year? Iron Patriot is the only exclusive minifigure in the new one. Why not just include him in the first set and have the second be based on something else? The biggest let down is not getting a single X-Men set at all next year. Missed opportunity not giving the Sentinel its own stand alone release or fleshing out more of the cast.
  8. So a Spider-Man 2 train remake and potentially Mr. Negative on top of the Spider-Verse set, Ant-Venom and a CMF series? This is shaping up to be a fantastic year for Spider-Man fans! All that's missing is an Oscorp modular. If we're not getting a Marvel set list anytime soon I wish one of the leakers would at least clarify if there is anymore X-Men product on the horizon. As stale as the Infinity Saga sets have become I'm up for a new AOU Quinjet. I'm hoping a new version has better interior space this time that isn't wasted on a motorbike deployment play feature. A non-phasing Vision would also be a nice inclusion.
  9. It depends on which version of Ventress we're getting. I've seen some posts wanting the micro series version but we got that figure the last time Ventress was included in a set and it still holds up perfectly well today. On the other hand the 2008 figure based on her TCW Season 1 outfit is incredibly outdated now and is in dire need of a remake more than Dooku does.
  10. I feel bad for saying this but I currently have zero hype for either of the two movies. They've wasted so much time trying to push all these random Z-list characters that have failed to take off that there's been barely any story build up to the Multiverse Saga and what little there was involving Kang has now seemingly been tossed out the window by replacing him with Doom at the eleventh hour. Even some of the casting news just screams of damage control for a product Marvel has little faith in. After watching the trailer I'm glad we didn't get any sets from it. Nothing about the show really stood out to me from a collecting perspective. I think Lego made the right call focusing on the Spider-Verse films instead. I wish someone would just reveal the set names already. It does get frustrating when Marvel is often the last theme to have their set list out after every other theme has been revealed.
  11. I don't mind if Batgirl reuses the Black Widow/Gamora hairpiece. Its ridiculously overused in the Superhero theme but it works well enough for her appearance in the film. Chase Meridian definitely needs that mold though. She's the one character where it would be the most appropriate to use it on. I don't think Mr. Freeze needs a new armor piece. The Praetorian Guard shoulder pads or Saw Gerrera's armor would work just fine. Its really just the helmet that needs a new piece. Poison Ivy also depends on which costume she uses between the lime jumpsuit and the classic leotard. I think if we get Two-Face they will just stick with the mold they created for the Dark Knight version even if it isn't completely accurate to Batman Forever.
  12. Its shocking that in the 20 years since the film's release we still don't have an Episode 3 Padme figure yet. Tion Meddon isn't obscure. He might have a small role in the film but he's still prominent enough to warrant a minifigure. The number of droids is a step up from the 2014 model but still feels a bit low when compared to the 2007 set. I'm willing to forgive the lack of minifigures if one of the two characters is either Wat Tambor or Mother Talzin.
  13. Hopefully they update Palpatine and the Royal Guards. The capes are pointless now that the skirt piece exists and Palpatine would look much more accurate with the new skin tone the Rise of Skywalker figure is using.
  14. Latest rumor on the LegoMarvelLeaks subreddit is that 76326 will be a helmet for $59.99. No mention yet which character it belongs to.
  15. While I'm excited for Bag End its kind of sad that even Rosie and Lobelia could be getting official minifigures before Eowyn does. At this point I'm half expecting Hera and the Rings of Power cast to show up in a set before she ever gets an official minifigure.
  16. I would welcome anything from Naboo. Theed Palace, the Queen's Starship, a better scaled N-1 Starfighter, Gian Speeder, Flash Speeder in teal, Trade Federation MTT, Droid Control Ship, Landing Craft, Gungan Sub and Gungan Patrol remakes. So many great possibilities to choose from that would be a refreshing break from all the clones.
  17. I'm wondering if the Batcave will be based on Batman Forever specifically. It makes more sense for the set to be focused on just one Schumacher movie than trying to cram both together and next year is the film's 30th anniversary. The Riddler's attack on the Batcave/Wayne Manor was also a pretty big moment from the film the set could take inspiration from. Batman, Robin, Riddler, Two-Face, Alfred (reused from Shadowbox) and Chase Meridian would be a solid realistic line up for a set like this.
  18. I feel the opposite in this instance. Comic Batman sets had dominated the theme for so long that by the time 2019 rolled around they were starting to become stale and played out. There's only so many times I can keep getting the same thing over and over. Its why I've grown so tired of the Marvel theme recycling the same MCU sets. Transitioning over to other Batman media has been the one thing that's kept the theme feeling fresh to me. BTAS and Schumacher sets can get me excited for new versions of Robin, Riddler, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Mr Freeze and Batgirl whereas the comics would leave me feeling "I already own these. Do I really need another?"
  19. I don't need a wave of sets. Just give me a modular Daily Planet sometime in 2026 or 2027 and I'll be happy.
  20. I don't think the minifigure count will go anywhere near that high. After seeing Barad-Dur, the X-Mansion and Sail Barge all limited to roughly 10 minifigures I expect Bag End to likely be the same.
  21. They weren't unwilling. They already released him in the 60s Batcave.
  22. Again the sets being based on the Prequels/Clone Wars isn't the issue. Its the clones themselves being the sole focus at the expense of everything else. These are the main areas I want to see improved upon: Main Characters The lead cast of the prequel era aren't being made anywhere near as accessible as the OT cast. Anakin, Ahsoka and Maul have been the most prominent but everyone else has been a complete afterthought. Padme in particular has always gotten the short end of the stick ever since the theme's inception. Separatists and Trade Federation While I'm glad we're getting the MTT next year the droid army hasn't been represented anywhere near as equally as the clone army has lately. Not only that but even major characters like Dooku, Grievous and Ventress are being completely ignored. The Jedi Council The Jedi are just as integral to the Clone Wars as the clones themselves, especially with how the animated series fleshed many of them out. 2025 is a step in the right direction with Plo Koon and two more Jedi on the way but many of these characters have been neglected for too long. I believe the last time we got any was Ki-Adi-Mundi and Barriss Offee in the 2018 battle pack. Supporting Cast The OT and Mandoverse have done an excellent job staying on top of things here but the prequel era has been a complete afterthought and moving at a snail's pace. Why haven't we gotten Boss Nass and Shmi Skywalker by now? Where are Duchess Satine and Mother Talzin? How has Zam Wesell still not been updated yet? There's no excuse to keep avoiding these characters.
  23. Hopefully we get set names soon. I'm mostly interested in knowing if there's anymore Spider-Verse or X-Men sets coming.
  24. Watching the Superman trailer makes it even more disappointing that there are no sets coming next year. I can only hope that both the film and the mech set are successful enough for Lego to give Superman another chance down the line. I'm probably one of the few that doesn't have a problem getting Schumacher sets either. They're the only Batman films that haven't been covered yet so I'm glad they're not being ignored even if they are the weakest part of the franchise. Hopefully they are able to cover most of the main characters from the two films. It will also be interesting to see if its only the Batcave that's Schumacher themed or if Arkham Asylum will be as well. Honestly I was getting bored of the comic based sets by the time the 2019 wave came around. The builds were forgettable and none of the minifigures were bringing anything new to the table. Branching out to other media with the 60s TV series, Burton films, Dark Knight Trilogy and Animated Series is really what's maintained my interest in the theme.
  25. I think its important to distinguish that the problem I have isn't with the number of Clone Wars or Prequel Trilogy sets we're getting. Its the overabundance of the clones themselves in those sets at the expense of everything else. There's far more to the prequel era than just the Clone Troopers but we've been seeing very little of that in Lego's product. I'm thankful the summer wave at least seems to be addressing the Separatists and the Jedi which is a step in the right direction.
