Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
wesker replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I hope so. Those new pieces look like a massive upgrade over the ones they've been previously using for Venom and Carnage. Looks like a few of the characters will be getting makeovers. I noticed Jubilee has her modern uniform in the trailer and judging by how torn up Wolverine's costume looks I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a redesign by the end of the season as well. I don't think we'll see many of these costume changes reflected in the X-Mansion set but it does bode well for more minifigure variants in future waves. -

Hopefully they continue the BTAS sets. Preferably a new Batcave and Arkham Asylum. I'd love to get more of the cast in their animated forms beyond just the five minifigures we currently have. I wouldn't say no to either of the Schumacher Batmobiles either to complete the movie line up. -

I'd only be interested in an Avengers CMF if all the minifigures included were based on the comics. The colorful costumes are at least different enough from the films to keep the main heroes interesting and it would also provide a wider selection of interesting villains to pick from. The MCU has already been done to death in the sets themselves that a CMF series wouldn't be bringing much new to the table. X-Men has a gold mine of iconic characters to pick from that its frustrating to see Lego drip feed them at such a slow pace. I really hope that changes over the coming years. I'm definitely in favor of the next CMF series ditching the Disney+ shows altogether and focusing exclusively on the X-Men. Last I heard Marvel Zombies was also intended to be TV-MA. Unfortunately it sounds like they also plan on going through with Iron Heart and Wonder Man instead of cutting their loses. -

The Helicarrier definitely seems like something they would remake in the near future but I don't think it would replace the big location D2C. I think it's more likely to be a separate release like the UCS Hulkbuster was to the Sanctum Sanctorum. One option could be to double up on the main characters depicting both their human forms and using their powers. That would give the set a decent number of minifigures while getting around the relatively small cast. Depends on the direction the next Spider-Man movie takes. If it does incorporate Daredevil and Kingpin as rumors have suggested then some of those locations could be safe to release as the characters would no longer be associated with just the Netflix shows. I think Nelson and Murdoch could pair quite well with Spider-Man's apartment (not just as a modular but even as a reimagining of 76108 replacing the Sanctum) Good call on Iceman, Spider-Woman, Elektra and Bullseye. There's a lot they could do with an Oscorp set. Harry and Norman Osborn would be good inclusions as well since we haven't had either of them in a set since the original Spider-Man line from 2003-2004. One thing I'd really love to see are classic variants of Electro, Rhino, Shocker and Lizard. I'm surprised none of them have happened yet. Kraven and Scorpion could probably do with another release as well. -

I'm going with either the Daily Planet or Baxter Building. It makes more sense to release those while Superman and Fantastic Four are in the public eye by capitalizing on the hype for their upcoming films. I don't think we'll get both sets released in the same year but they are the two most relevant options to pick from for 2025. Spider-Man is different where he doesn't need the outside media support like other superheroes do. An Oscorp set could be released at any point and it will sell well regardless. Its why I think that one is more likely to be saved later for a quieter year. -

From what I understand Brick Reporter isn't actually a leaker. Just somebody that reposts news and rumors that originate from other accounts and passing it off as his own. I'd wait for a more credible source with a proven track record like BrickClicker or mtdbricks. -

Hopefully its Zam. While I'd prefer seeing her included in a Bounty Hunter Pursuit remake I'd still be happy just getting the character alone in an upcoming unrelated set. I'd be disappointed if the illustrator was indicating Thrawn who we already know is supposed to show up in the Peridea set. -

Depends on who's in it. 10 minifigures isn't a lot but if they can at least complete the original TAS team with Jean, Gambit, Jubilee and Xavier, possibly with either Classic Magneto or Mr. Sinister thrown in on top I would still consider that as a solid start for the X-Men. Another deciding factor is going to be whether we get anything else in the January wave. Its only two months away from the X-Mansion's release so it won't be a long wait. If we see additional X-Men sets with more new characters then I'm willing to overlook the mansion's low minifigure count. -

About time we're getting a Nien Nunb minifigure! I'm surprised they never included him in any of the Resistance sets from the Sequel Trilogy. Still better late than never. The X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter set seems like the most logical spot to include him in. -

Storm and Beast would make the most sense for the final two figures. I can't see Lego keeping those two characters locked behind a CMF blind box that will be discontinued by the time the mansion comes out. I don't think they will exclude Rogue either. Not if they plan on including every other member from the original team in this set. With the X-Jet and X-Mansion being released almost a year apart there wouldn't be much point in holding her back as an exclusive figure either, especially if the jet ends up retiring early next year. -

For a GWP the Battle Droid Carrier turned out better than expected. Its not the troop carrier that the 2015 set was but its a nice remake of the original set. -

I can live with the inaccurate X-Jet figure only because its such an ugly costume in the show and not something I really want multiple minifigures of. Getting an updated classic costume would be preferable but ultimately I'd rather see Magneto left out entirely and get Mr. Sinister instead since we're REALLY lacking in X-Men villains at the moment. -

Hopefully we'll hear something in the coming weeks. We already have the minifigure list for the UCS Sail Barge which is due out in October so updates on the X-Mansion shouldn't be too far behind. -
You're not the only one. There's so many Star Wars characters I'd rather be seeing than just endless clones all the time. On top of the ones you've mentioned I'd add: Shmi Skywalker Padme (Theed Battle, Geonosis Droid Factory and Mustafar costumes) C-3PO (TPM and AOTC variants) Nute Gunray (TPM) Rune Haako Dexter Jettster Tion Meddon Wat Tambor Captain Typho Lama Su Mas Amedda and Sly Moore Sabe Jedi Council members (Yaddle, Yarael Poof, Depa Billaba, Adi Gallia, Oppo Rancisis etc) Jocusta Nu Mother Talzin Duchess Satine Admiral Trench Nala Se Dr. Hemlock Cid Nien Nunb Sy Snootles and Droopy McCool Force Ghosts Galen Erso Dryden Vos Emperor Palpatine (TROS) Seventh Sister Cobb Vanth Axe Woves Carson Teva Migs Mayfeld The Client Dr. Pershing Dedra Meero Bix Calleen Kino Loy Black Krrsantan Cad Bane (TBOBF) The Great Mothers Fallen Order cast Unfortunately the excess in new media makes it harder for many of these characters to be made as each year passes.

There's no chance Iron Heart will be getting any sets next year. None of the previous live action MCU shows have had any and this one is being headlined by a character that couldn't even catch on with the audience last time we saw her. Its going to be Echo and The Marvels all over again. The most I can see this show getting is an inclusion in the next Marvel CMF series but that's about it. -
I don't think we'll get any big locations from the Hobbit trilogy outside of Bag End potentially including the dwarves. The only two that would really stand a chance of being made are Lake-town and Erebor but neither of them are anywhere near as iconic as the majority of locations seen in the LOTR trilogy. If the theme is successful enough to touch on the Hobbit films I can definitely see a giant brick built Smaug set being on the table.

Hopefully we get something with the Night Troopers sooner rather than later. I'd hate for Lego to hold off on them until the Heir to the Empire film comes out. They would probably just go with a regular Deathtrooper minifigure with a zombie head replacing the human one. I don't think they would do anything complicated like a broken helmet mold exposing the face beneath it. -
The Witch-King didn't appear in this location either. It makes sense to include the Mouth of Sauron for the same reasons you suggested incorporating the interior of Mount Doom into the tower. If there are no future plans to remake the Black Gate or explore Mordor any further, where else do you put this character? At least the Witch-King has other potential set options he can appear in for the future. And again just for me personally I'd much rather see the Witch-King released in a set alongside an armored Eowyn to recreate their duel. That was their defining moment in the trilogy and its not the same having one character without the other. And while he could hypothetically appear in multiple sets he isn't a character I need several duplicate minifigures of. That's what the generic Nazgul are for.
-
I'd love a Palpatine's Arrest remake but my fear is that they would skip Kit Fisto, Saesee Tiin and Agen Kolar and only focus on the main characters, especially if the set came in the form of a diorama. Regardless on whether we see Obi-Wan's Blue Jedi Interceptor or General Grievous Chase in the near future (or even another General Grievous Starfighter remake) I do hope one of them comes with Tion Meddon. He's one of the few notable ROTS characters we still haven't gotten yet. The MagnaGuards are due for an update as well since we haven't seen them since around 2008 in the early waves of the Clone Wars.

Eowyn is a must for Helms Deep. She's long overdue for a minifigure and there aren't a lot of options in this theme for including female characters in general. Lego did previously include her in the buildable Helms Deep game but unfortunately that came in the form of a microfigure rather than a proper minifigure. Even if there were plans for Edoras eventually it would still be nice to get some costume variants. They could definitely squeeze at least four different minifigures out of Eowyn between the Witch-King duel, Helms Deep, Edoras and Minas Tirith.

Nope. Just another amateur clickbaiter pretending he's one of the big leagues. -
I don't think Edoras would have any problems selling well. Its one of the trilogy's more iconic locations and visually isn't that far off from the Viking Village Lego just released which is proving to be quite a popular set. I think Minas Tirith can be done well but it isn't going to be the kind of set that will please everyone. I agree that Bag End and Helms Deep would be the safer options. Another option could be the blister packs exclusive to Shop@Home and the Lego stores. If Lego aren't confident in giving LOTR normal retail sets just yet something like this could be a good alternative for the army builders. I assume they would go with a microscale exterior of the city along with a minifigure scaled interior in the back of the model. That seems to be the direction Barad-Dur is taking. I can't imagine the army builders would be too happy about that though.

More legacy sets are fine as long as they don't keep recycling the same MCU content over and over. The Avengers sets for this year feel stale because they aren't bringing anything new to the table. The Infinity Saga excels when its either revisiting an outdated set that actually warrants remaking (like the Milano) or focusing on something completely new that hasn't been done before (like Surtur) I'd also like to see the Avengers start transitioning over to more comic based sets once Age of Ultron has wrapped up. Any new characters appearing in a comic Spider-Man set would be welcome at this point. I'm getting pretty bored with the endless cycle of Miles, Gwen, Green Goblin, Venom and Doc Ock minifigures repeating in every set. -

That seems like an overreaction to me. We've had rubber capes in the superhero theme since 2019 and the sky wasn't falling then. Plus there's been plenty of minifigures released this year that are still using fabric elements including Gotham Skyline Batman, Ronan, Magneto, Darth Vader, Fives, Kelleran Beq, Darth Malak, Qui-Gon, Saw Gerrera, Nubs, Film Noir Detective, Vampire Knight, Dr. Liet-Kynes and Baron Harkonnen. Chances are they're not going anywhere.
