Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I can live without getting the red and white suit. Its an improvement over his previous MCU costumes but it still looked pretty boring and unremarkable compared to what the other Avengers wore. His new Captain America costume on the other hand is the first time he's ever looked like a real superhero on screen. Same with Wanda and her new outfit. -

I have no problems if the CMF figure is just an updated version of Vision's standard MCU look. The current figure is fine but could definitely be improved with a more accurate head and extra printing. -

The figure looks good to me. I'm just glad we're finally getting a Black Cat after going so long without one. -

I assumed the reason we're only getting 12 minifigures now is due to the CMF series expanding from three waves to four this year. The total number of Series 21, Vidiyo, Looney Tunes and Marvel minifigures combined would be no different to if we were only getting three CMF waves with 16 figures. -
The 1966 Batmobile looks excellent. Similar to the one from the Batcave but the small tweaks they've added to the build have really perfected it's appearance. The display stand with turntable is also a great addition. Really makes me want to see this become a future collection of sets with the other on screen Batmobiles.

Queen Amidala is a must for any CMF series. Its the perfect place to include her more extravagant costumes that we wouldn't normally get while also taking advantage of the new molds a CMF series provides. I'm a big advocate for getting the Theed Battle, Droid Factory and Mustafar variants of Padme - but I feel those versions are better off being saved for appearing in future sets.

Army building with a CMF series would be a nightmare. You're already limited by having a small number of duplicates per box. Then there's the frustration of not knowing what figure you're after should Vidiyo's change to cardboard boxes become permanent for all future CMF series. Then on top of that you have to factor in the scalpers who will be hoarding them all from retailers then reselling them for ridiculously high prices. Its just not worth it. Best solution would be to leave the army building for battle packs and keep a CMF line focused on individual characters. -

I think its important to note that lack of demand isn't the same thing as bad sales. The ST sets could have sold well and met Lego's sales expectations - but the level of demand for them can still fall short compared to other Star Wars properties. It isn't really a matter of Lego (or any toy company) only producing products from the latest Star Wars media. The Clone Wars wrapped up its final season a year ago and already received tie-in sets last summer. The prequels have been over for 16 years and the Original Trilogy came out four decades ago. None of them are currently active or relevant yet are still able to receive new merchandise because there's enough fan interest to justify it. Even during the years where the ST, Rogue One and Solo were in the spotlight the older material still maintained a retail presence. The sequels are by no means failures. As someone else mentioned they made over a billion and reintroduced the franchise into cultural relevancy. I personally enjoyed them and would love to continue to see more merchandise based upon them. But the films still did not seem to resonate with fans as much as other parts of the saga and its clear that's played a part in the direction a lot of toy manufacturers have been taking. -

I agree with you there. Cody is long overdue for a minifigure but throwing him in a $350 set is the wrong way to go about it. A better solution would be to include him in the next round of Utapau themed sets whether it be a new Wheel Bike, Obi-Wan's Interceptor or another Grievous Starfighter. This year's Lego line up is quite telling as it is. Like Hasbro most of their product is based around the OT, Bad Batch, Mandalorian and PT/TCW. The only new ST set we're getting this year is a cheap 4+ X-Wing that's been recycled from 2019. Nothing else. -

The new head piece for Rocket and the change to brown fur looks great! Shame the outfit is a bit boring. I'm with everyone else that they should've gone with dark blue over grey. -

I imagine there will be a reception area of some kind for the ground floor. There would have to be a main office room for J. Jonah Jameson as well. If the set is anything like the modular buildings from recent years it could also incorporate some other smaller businesses or apartments alongside the Bugle. -

A D2C Daily Bugle sounds awesome. Hopefully the build fits in with the modular buildings seamlessly like the Spring Lantern Festival and Ghostbusters HQ sets do. Looking forward to seeing what characters are also included. It would be a perfect opportunity for classic versions of Shocker, Electro and Rhino, as well as all new characters like Black Cat, Lizard, Gwen Stacy, Daredevil and Kingpin. -

The colors on Wasp seem fine to me. Its the helmet that really needs an update. Luckily they have the perfect mold with the Firefly figure from Batman. Hopefully they include her somewhere in the summer wave. I can take or leave an updated Wanda. It's fine if she's added to complete the Endgame lineup but honestly her old MCU costume looks so boring compared to the new one that I'd much rather see a new minifigure based on that. -

Regular Vision could definitely use an updated head design. The current figure still looks good for the most part but I think printing a pink face on a sand green head would look a lot better (and more accurate) than the broken green patches on a pink head. -

The dragon build is excellent! Its always nice when the MCU sets come up with something different from the usual random vehicles. Shame the design of the (real) Mandarin looks so boring. That's one character that could really benefit from a comic book variant down the line. -

Again just going to offer another viewpoint here and remind everyone of last year's Avengers sets where you had minifigures based on: Square Enix (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, AIM Agents) Comic Books (Black Panther, Hawkeye, Rescue, Captain Marvel, MODOK) MCU (Red Skull, Loki, Nick Fury, Mark 2 Armor) Those sets weren't limited to basing their characters on a single source. Why should we expect this year's to be the same? You're not the only one. The X-Mansion would be a dream come true for me. Unfortunately I don't think the timing is quite right at the moment with the X-Men out of the spotlight. Maybe next year they can come up with something for the 30th Anniversary of the 90's Animated Series? -
I'm not fond of it either. The current face print just looks too kind and friendly to me. It doesn't really suit Harley as an anti-hero/villain or capture her crazy personality like previous face prints did.

Firefly came out in the Batman vs Poison Ivy mech set a couple years back. But I agree the other villains definitely need to happen.

All the talk about the D2C being the final battle from Endgame still feels like wishful thinking to me. Most of it seems to come down to fans being disappointed we didn't get 20 minifigure variants from the film and hoping they'll all get tossed in one big set together with little regard for the build itself. The only thing that really stands out enough to warrant a large set from the battle is Thanos's ship but I think that has a more realistic chance of being the $150 flagship set for the retail wave (76193) than the $300 D2C. People forget the Square Enix sets weren't based entirely on the video game. They still included an assortment of minifigures based on both the comics (Hawkeye, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Rescue) and the MCU (Red Skull, Loki, Nick Fury, the Iron Man suits). Just because Korg is based on the MCU doesn't necessarily mean the rest of the set will be. It could simply be because his live action appearance is the one the general public is most familiar with. -

I think the existing Zabrak headpiece is fine. I wouldn't want to see Maul's head become completely molded like the Tusken Raider's. As far as the face print goes they really perfected it with the Solo/Crimson Dawn figure and hope they reuse it for the upcoming Clone Wars figure. -

Including all five members at once seems like a smart move to me. There's no guarantee we'll be seeing much more from the Bad Batch beyond this one set as the line is going to get pretty crowded moving forward with all the upcoming Disney Plus shows in addition to the classic films. Next year alone will see it competing with The Mandalorian, Boba Fett, Andor and Obi-Wan. -

Videos of the Imperial Shuttle are starting to pop up. Love how sleek the body looks but the lack of interior space is disappointing and the cockpit has some pretty unsightly gaps when looking down through the windscreen. -

The Blackbird didn't even get a retail release in Australia. The only way anyone could get it here was buying it online.
