Cody can appear in literally any Utapau or Clone Wars themed set. Yeah it sucks he was left out of General Grievous' Starfighter last year but there's nothing stopping Lego from including him next time in Obi-Wan's Jedi Interceptor or General Grievous' Wheel Bike. The UCS Gunship isn't his only chance of ever being made. And for what its worth - Lego has been delivering on a LOT of fan requested characters in recent years. -

I wasn't that keen on the arms in the Mech Battle set. They looked too short and blocky while the claws were ridiculously oversized. The ones in the Daily Bugle are definitely the best they've ever looked. They're a good length and well proportioned with the rest of the minifigure. Although how durable they are and how well they articulate is yet to be seen. -

This set is just amazing! Any expectations I had have just completely been blown away. The height is great, all the set pieces like Green Goblin smashing through the window and Sandman breaking from beneath the sidewalk look amazing, technic bricks on the side to connect with the other modulars, a fantastic minifigure selection that hasn't even been fully revealed yet... just everything about this set is perfect. Its going to be a day one purchase for sure! -
^ Same here. I hope AOTC as a whole gets some decent attention next year for its 20th anniversary. Not expecting a full wave of sets like in 2013 but at the very least I'd like to see: Kaminoan minifigures released through the Bad Batch series Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter as one of the cheap mid-range vehicles in the winter wave Bounty Hunter Pursuit remake Geonosis Arena as the next MBS set Young Owen & Beru minifigures released through the Disney+ Obi-Wan series

That Groot figure looks awesome! The new color looks much more accurate and the texturing really makes him stand out a lot more compared to the Infinity War version. Star Lord looks great too with the dual molded legs and Superman hairpiece. -

Its the Princess Leia head that was used on the 2020 Captain Marvel figure. -

The new Benatar looks fantastic! I love how much smoother they've made the exterior build compared to the last one. Looking forward to seeing more of the interior and what other characters will be included. Also glad to see the cockpit of the Dragon Flyer can be articulated for attack mode. Wasn't sure it could based on the initial photo. -

The new Thanos is a nice upgrade. The body print is easily the most detailed they've done yet and the added articulation to the head is a welcome addition. Just a shame they didn't include a helmet. I know people have been wanting a bald version for a while but now that detachable headgear is a possibility on big figs it would have been nice having the option of displaying both versions. Looking forward to the Final Battle set, but for all the complaints everyone had about how awful the last compound set was the build for the new one doesn't look all that different to me. Its a little wider and lost the side garage but the basic build is more or less the same. -

Honestly I'm excited for all of them. Darth Maul, Bo-Katan, Fennec Shand, Moff Gideon, Gar Saxon, the Darktroopers, Paz Vizsla, The Armorer... it really is shaping up to be a fantastic summer wave! -

Both figures look excellent. I do wish they'd stop using the black hips on the Stormtroopers though. It makes the figure look dated compared to the Clone Troopers and First Order. -

Those figures look phenomenal up close! They really went all out with this set! Glad the shuttle can seat four members of the team. I really wasn't expecting the interior to be as detailed as it is with those posters. The green speeder bike looks pretty nice but like everyone else could do without the BARC Speeder. -

The Batman seems the most likely to tie in with the release of the new movie. Although I'd love to see the GWP 1989 Batmobile get a re-release at retail to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Batman Returns next year.

The Mandalorian Forge is a good set choice. I actually wouldn't mind if they skipped Mando out on this one in favor of getting both The Armorer and Paz Viszla. He wasn't in the battlepack or the upcoming Imperial Troop Transport so its not like he's required to appear in every set based on the show. I also like the suggestion of including the Incinerator Trooper. -
As much as I'd love a minifigure scale Tumbler with display stand, I really hope they don't go the GWP route again. The 1989 Batmobile was a pain to get and should never have been made an exclusive. They made the right decision selling the 60's Batmobile as its own product at retail so people have a fairer chance at getting one. I hope that any other minifigure scaled Batmobiles based on the live action films does the same.

Loving the helmet designs and printed armor on the Bad Batch minifigures. The cockpit on the shuttle also looks a bit better with these new angle shots. Its not perfect but it somewhat captures that sharp pointed look better than initially thought. -

Those new animal molds look fantastic! Really loving the monkey, lion and elephant figures. The new colors on the snake and crocodile look great as well. Hopefully these aren't the only sets in the theme as it would be great to see some additional wildlife animals. -

I'm with everyone else on the new Wanda figure. The new torso is nice but the face print could definitely be better. Two smiling faces feels redundant and the blonde eyebrows looks odd. I don't really mind that they used reddish brown for the hair. Regardless how it turned out I'm still more excited for the CMF figure over the Endgame one. -
Classic base plates being retired by February 2022
wesker replied to wesker's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Plates would be the simplest solution either by selling the 16x16 pieces on their own under the Classic branding or introducing a new 32x32 sized plate. Another option could be taking the new road plate and releasing a modified version that's entirely studded on top. Lego has already used a similar piece for the base of several Juniors sets. The benefit of this method would be that the 2-plate thickness would avoid any warping issues and the ability to link them using the 1x4 indents on the side would offer a stronger foundation for sets in a way that single plates would not. Modular buildings would also be correctly leveled with the new road system. The only other option I can think of are the 16x16 bricks that are being used in the Lego Art sets but those would probably be too large (being 4 plates thick) and more expensive than their worth compared to the other two options. -
https://www.brickfanatics.com/is-the-lego-group-about-to-discontinue-its-traditional-baseplates/ Didn't see a topic on this yet. Apparently all four classic base plates will be retired by February next year. Coming so soon after the recent change to the road system it will be interesting to see what replacement if any they come up with.

Hopefully they at least keep Maul's face print from the Crimson Dawn figure. It easily the best design they've done for him to date. -

She doesn't even need that. Other than Boushh its not like the box art or S@H set descriptions ever label her minifigures as anything other than just Princess Leia. Her inclusion into a MBS set should really be a non issue. The sets carry the 18+ branding now and at the end of the day we're talking about a blocky Lego figure that is no more inappropriate than this City minifigure:

I'm fine with sand blue being used for the shuttle. As long as the set can fit all the minifigures I'm not too bothered by the scale either. The cockpit could definitely be improved though as it doesn't really capture that sharp pointed shape too well.
