  1. I think the parts you are using are not adequate for the result you want to obtain. Or you find a window that already has this kind of subdivision, or you increase the scale and use a different approach. Even introducing a custom part I can't see how to properly connect it to the windows, maybe a grill that replaced the glass.
  2. Probably these parts are not in LDD database, then. You could wait these parts will be added someday (you can also request that here to promote them) or use some other LEGO CAD ecosystem (LDRAW based or Mechabricks).
  3. Using custom parts implies various thing to manage in LDD, and I don't think in this period of pure "maintenance" of the software the LDD Team will implement any feature of this kind. Beside, I had the feeling that the missing support to custom parts is a precise choice. About your problem, I'm not sure I've understood the point, could you add a screenshot from LDD?
  4. Did you took a look at the SR3D manual?
  5. Interesting thing, Brickdoctor. Could you write few lines about so that we can add the problem and the solution in the first post of this topic?
  6. Obviously the license is not thought for few days of work, maybe you can continue to use it for fun, once the project is finished! Anyway SR3D builder is available for everybody in its free version. The free version has some limitations in advanced features, so I suggest you to try it and see if the free version is suitable for you (I've some doubt, as you require the animation console, but tou could make a try).
  7. Thanks Gallagher, very useful work!
  8. These are good finds, maybe Sergio will fix the problem in one of the next version. If he don't appear in ths topic again, I'll report him the discussion.
  9. When you play with elements that have more connection, it is a pain with automatic tools. Often I have to disassemble the built to obtain the tool works correctly. It is not a matter of "undo". That's why I think the lock feature is a very good idea.
  10. yes, "lock" brick/selection/group would be definitely a good idea. Very useful when you use some tool that accidentally move some part that you don't want to move.
  11. Maybe the duplicates are due to material differences. For example the 1x2 brick has two different molds for standard and transparent version. I don't know if in LDD this can make the difference, but this difference could be used, for example, in hight quality rendering. Wait for another opinion anyway, I'm not sure that all I remember is correct!
  12. Hi keeganp1234, welcome to the digital section. The digital section has a Section Index where you can find many useful informations. Here is the "Troubleshooting" part of the index, where you can find the main topics about problems as your one. The "LDD startup and advanced graphics problems" topic is the one for you. Read it and try the solutions proposed there. I'll move this request in that topic, later. PS: the last version of LDD is 4.3.6, the previous one is 4.3.5.
  13. Reserved for future use.
  14. Hi and welcome to the digital section. I don't know if pets and dolls figure are available in LDD (take a look at this topic), but I'm pretty sure there are a tenth of Friends sets in the Official Sets in LDD topic. You should be able to easily find them looking at the index.
  15. I don't remember it, maybe it is not in LDD. It is not so strange that LDD don't contains old and particular bricks like this one. Anyway, wait for some other opinion!
  16. @bats LDD has groups. It is not exactly the same as submodels, but it could be enough. About creating instruction, tale a look to the "Using groups to generate correct instructions" topic, linked in the Section Index.
  17. LDD have a closed database, and don't allow to add custom decorations. Anyway there are some "hidden" decorations inside LDD that you could use. Look at the Section Index and search for the LDD Reference topic.
  18. Hi Jason C. Hand, welcome back in the Official Set made in LDD topic. You entry is almost good, the image is not cropped (you have to remove blank stripes around the subject) and a bit large for such a small set (I suggest you a 256x size, or a bit less). Sets will be added to the index by the indexer (me, in this case ) during the periodical update.
  19. Sure, the free placing is a very desired feature, I hope we will see it soon. Anyway, it is not necessary much scaffolding, you only have to know the right trick! (nothing complicated: place the bar on the building ground, then place the Barrel under it at the right height)
  20. Example: you are trying to place a Bar inside a Barrel, so that the bar seems to be laid to the border of the barrel. There are many other examples, because not ever the part will be connected to another one, or maybe you prefer to connect other parts to the rotated one once it is placed.
  21. There is no need to select an axis. I mean a free rotation, mouse dragging type (such as this one). It is immediate and intuitive. The rotation center should be the geometrical center of the bounding box. But maybe select a different rotation point could be useful sometimes.
  22. The problem is that you need to make a connection before rotating a brick. That's not comfortable for various reasons: - I can't take a brick and rotate it immediately. I have to take the brick, place it, take a second brick as a pivot and then rotate. - The rotation is tied to the pivot. For some rotations, I need to organize a complex pivoting system. - It don't works if there are unconnected bricks (very very annoying in certain situations). LDD allows only a simple unconstrained rotation using arrow keys when the brick is "on the air". I think it would be very useful (and simple to implement) a "full" rotation for dragged bricks or groups of bricks (don't mind if connected or not). The simplest solution I imagine is to use a key in the keyboard: pressing it while you drag a brick or a group of bricks is "pinned" and you can use the mouse to rotate it. Obviously there should be the chance to insert numeric rotation too and use the green arrows, as with the rotation tool. This is a request for the next LDD I asked time ago, and I think it is a reasonable request.
