Take a look at the section index, there you can find some threads about building instructions in LDD. In one of them, is described how to generate buiding instruction based on groups (in detail, it is explained that inside the lxf file you can insert some code that guide the BI generator of LDD, and it is possible to generate this code starting from the groups code), and Hronts provide an example file. It is not so trivial, but it works.

Now that you have discovered the site, why don't share the answer with other users?

My 3D Lego Renders Thread
Calabar replied to dlefik2014's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Good work, these are nice renders! About this one (click) the metallic grilles used for the radiator seems to be too flat. Maybe some problem with the shadows? -
LDD PC REBUILD
Calabar replied to The BrickYard's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Half a million bricks? I'm sorry to tell that to you, but LDD is unable to manage such a number of bricks even with the most powerful PC. It is a limit of the software, not a limit of the machine: LDD has not been designed for such workloads. Obviously a powerful PC helps to manage a large amount of bricks, but half a million are too much. This issue has been previously discussed on this board, for example in this topic. PS: as the user bbqqq discovered, the limit is related to the number of polygons and not the the number of bricks (click). -
The export function convert the lxfml format in another format, but geometries are proprietary and are not exported: the geometries are contained in LDD and not in the lxf file. Note that the export function is based on an xml file, and if you want to obtain a decent conversion, you should download the last LDraw.xml file from here. Anyway, if you search in this section, you will find various topics related to renders done with Blender or other software.

Skeleton Dragon
Calabar replied to Takanuinuva's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
It is not only a matter of capital letters, the "o" character is coded in "o" too. Besides, as I wrote above, the changes are made even if the text is not inside a URL tag. -

Beautiful model, very well done! Could you share the lxf file? -
Skeleton Dragon
Calabar replied to Takanuinuva's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Just for test: Link to the first picture: Click. It seems that the word "Skeletondragon" is changed in "Skeletondragon". (note that above I wrote "Skeletondragon" with the "d" in uppercase... ad it has been changed even in the standard text) Let's try again: Click. Nothing to do... there is some kind of escape function that changes the URI. It is necessary to contact EuroBricks' administration. -
Does it requires NET Framework or any other library in Windows? I tried to launch it but on a secondary PC the result was an error dialog telling it is not a win32 application. About the country filter, please organize that in groups, so that it would be easy to select, for example, only the European countries with a single click (that is what I need ^___^ ).

LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
Calabar replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
These are all good points. You choose a very "pratical" point of view. -
The future of SR3D and its users
Calabar replied to Alasdair Ryan's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
This is surely a question that many users asked themselves. The point is what Sergio disposed. Maybe he decided to release the codes, or maybe he found someone that could take his work and maybe continue or simply maintain it, or he prefer to leave every right to his family so that it could provide some extra money for them, or he couldn't dispose anything. Whatever the answer, I hope that we could know something about sooner or later. -

Remember to specify if only the brickset changes or the LDD version too. -
Minfig hands as a seperate part in LDD?
Calabar replied to Wardancer's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
There is some trick to separate parts, but LDD consider a torso (and other composed bricks) as a single part. About hands, it is not possible because this part is not fully molded in LDD. Take a look at this topic. -
Tragic news - Sergio (SR3D) passes away
Calabar replied to kevin8's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
A sad and unexpected news for me too. I hope that someone will have the chance gather his heritage so that his name will continue to be well known around the whole the LEGO community for long long time. Many of us know him thanks to the great work he did programming SR3D. Surely we will miss you, Sergio. -
For those that are interested in this, after a long wait is a new video from Tubafrog. Enjoy.

Hi and welcome in the LDD section and in the Eurobricks forum. I moved your request outside the LDD Official Sets topic, it is not the right place there to ask for help. As a start, your building is "quite" challenging. Maybe you simply have to mature more experience with LDD before trying a set like this one. Did you took a look at this set in the Official topic as inspiration? The image you tried to insert in your post is not visible because it is on your local computer and not on the web. I removed your local path from the post above. You have to upload it on some file hosting service and then link it inside the topic. For LEGO purpose, I suggest you to use a LEGO related hosting site such as brickshelf or bricksafe: both are free and allow to store images and lxf files (and all other LEGO-related files).

Using two technic bricks would surely be a more correct design. About the excessive friction, you could use half pins.

Hi and welcome in the Official Sets Topic. This topic includes many sets but not all the LEGO sets, so it is probable that the sets you are looking for are not available. Usually, irregular entries or error in the index aside, all the available entries are listed in the first page. The most recent entries could be not yet indexed, so you should check the last page(s) of the topic manually. For any booking/request, remember there is the "Official Lego sets - Book, WIP, Requests" topic. If you want to contribute here, don't forget to carefully read the rules of the topic in the first page.
