Brethren of the Brick Seas?
Yawgmoth replied to Admiral Croissant's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I have been thinking on a similar concept or idea, glad you were first to present it, I have to admit I'd not have been as eloquent as explaining it as you were! and I have to say I like it! It would need a lot of thinking and cooperation between both forums to stabilize a storyline and not get in the middle of each other, it'd need a perfect harmony, which I think it could be achievable, but just if everyone work towards it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! -
Brethren of the Brick Seas?

Mixing both "RPG Guilds" wouldnt be too attracting to me I guess... ultimately everyone would end up just playing GoH, like if it was just an expansion to an already huge game, which is not the point I think.. First of, If GoH is as huge and succesful as it is (and it really is, you cant deny it).. then it will survive everything else. And this whole idea is just for pirates, I am more than sure that peple that enjoy only castle building would not see with good eyes piratey stuff sticking to their game, neither people that just wanna see ship building... Last, but not least, Pirates need a pump in my opinion, not only in people or MOCs, but in interest in the theme itself, and that pump would be provided by a fresh new start on this concept, which ATM is my only interest, guess I am not the only one -
Brethren of the Brick Seas?
Yawgmoth replied to Admiral Croissant's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Three or four factions would suffice, I myself would enroll as a pirate, that has been my real interest since I was a child, and now again when I came back from my dark years, Imperials or armada are really interesting, but nothing beat the feeling of freedom being a renegade agent, working only for the love of gold and adventure, a mercyless and bloodthirsty pirate! I have always been more attached to the classic feel, as you have seen on every MOC I present you, old school classic pirates,...but PotC did get me again back to the lego world, so, I guess I'd work fine between both classic and fantasy worlds. As soon as the "preparation forum" is open I'd be posting some of my ideas for this. Something that has been said here before and I found really interesting was the increase of build abilities, serious MOCing is something I have always wanted and this gives us all the right opportunity to obtain a higher level, which makes me wanna start here and right now! -
Brethren of the Brick Seas?

I consider this to be like a role playing game, similar to Dungeons and Dragons, but online! every participant is a player, and there are "war" events, or special events,... in every competition theres always expectations, adrenaline, and interest, everyone wants to shows their best moves and tactics, in this case, MOCs :P ... and like I said before, Lego Pirates is HUGE!! it can easily be just "pirates guilds" and making it a competition between each other pirate armada / fleet / broderhood, to obtain more loot, gain reputation and terrorize the seven seas!... and I am just considering the idea with pirates, when you mix every other faction, the fun really begins! -
Brethren of the Brick Seas?

I remember doing a similar topic several months ago, I think it could function like factions rather than guilds, 'coz there's a lot of sides to belong to in the lego pirate universe, (islanders, redcoats, bluecoats, armada, pirates) and each faction could go even deeper!. Lego pirates have A LOT of potential, both storyside and in the roles we can play, or the MOCs we can build!. Personally I love the idea, and would be more than honored to contribute to the project, just for fun! and to attract more attention to the pirate world -
Gratz! truly the best entry of this contest, I really loved your color scheme, and building techniques, and you were even able to merge both sets in one fantastic photo! great job! This was an amazing contest, thanks to all participants for showing us your nice entries!

Pirates Teamwork Contest - Entry Overview Topic
Yawgmoth replied to Bonaparte's topic in Pirate MOCs
Capt. Stabbin's and Yawgmoth's entry - The Lighthouse Guard & The Imperial Tavern -
[pid][/pid] 247A Greetings! Well, after a nice time planning, building, getting feedback, rebuilding, and getting everything done, we finally got our entry done: The Lighthouse Guard & The Imperial Tavern Both sets were designed to match each other and make a long redcoat harbor. We decided to stick to a classic design, with some details from the new 2009 pirates wave. Both sets provides great playability by their own, but when paired, the posibilities are almost limitless! The way we decided to connect through technic pins, allows to merge both sets in several ways! promoting creativity and play value. With no other introduction, we are proud to present our entry to the Pirate Team Contest From Capt. Stabbin: The Lighthouse Guard From Yawgmoth: The Imperial Tavern I gotta say it was really fun, I'd do it again anytime, so I shall extend a BIG thanks for this idea, and the general concept of this competition!

Hello there :) I have been working on this, mostly on LDD to plan some ideas, measeure proportions and try to build a better curve on the hull, this is how it is going so far: :)
-
I like it! the overall curve of the ship is smooth and nice, and has abundant details, nicely done!
-
Team confirmed! let's rock!
-
I knew I had seen a similar ship somewhere else, he he
-
Hehe, yes I wanted to recreate something with classic feeling, and seeing that various sets have a shipwreck, I thought it could be nice to do one too! (not to mention it was a lot of fun)

Uhmmm, I'd like to pair up with Brig. Brick, we are both from Costa Rica, but we arent exactly in the same geographic region...yes, Costa Rica is a rather smaller country, but I dont Imagine someone driving 300km~ just to "cheat" and build both parts in real life, well, at least I dont Imagine myselft doing so , besides the real purpose of the whole thing would be lost in that way. Saying so, can we still participate as a team?

[pid][/pid] 242D Hello there! happy holidays :) It's been a little while since I posted something, so here I am, with a new MOC I rarely build anything other than ships,in fact it is the first non-ship construction I make, so we can say I had a very nice (and busy) week working on this, but it was worth every second :) I based my desing on the original 6273 Rock Island Refuge, or at least that was the idea at the beggining hehe, then I felt inspired to add more and more stuff, and finally this came out, I name it the Rock Island Fortress, enjoy :) Feedback is always welcome

I like the whole idea, sign me in for it!

[MOCPages Find] Randolph Rosenbacher's HMS Victory
Yawgmoth replied to dr_spock's topic in Pirate MOCs
I just feel the same, everything seems massive, but too bulky or linear, beggining with the gun decks line. -
It looks even better than before! I really like all the imporvements, they add more realism to the ship (considering the original one :P). Btw, did you ever got any response from lego? There are already 3000+ supporters :O me included :) Hope you get the 10k, I reallly do!

Upload the images on a free server, there are several out there on the internet, I use http://photobucket.com/, then copy and paste the links into this thread, and you should be ready to go! I am already wanting to look at your collection, good look on uploading the images :)

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Yawgmoth replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
That'd be a dream shared by many -
Classic feel all the way my friend, I love classic pirates ships, especially this one, my all time favorite, I gotta redo some minor details here and there, maybe adding an additional mid hull would fix that problem yes, I had considered that a while back. I'd be updating here when I finish those details :)
