Thanks for an excellent review Def! I think KielDaMan pretty much described how i feel about this set. The minifigs are nicely made but no reason for me to get this set. And the model itself just fails to impress me. Though it is vaguely reminiscent of the X-Wing, it lacks a certain sleekness in design and i'm not overly fond of the bright color scheme. Also, contrary to the 9500 Sith Fury, this isn't a ship players can fly in the game. So i'm wondering why Lego chose to release some random fighter while there are five other really nice player ships they could have made instead.

I love both the modular concept as well as the execution. The modules are very beautifully designed, with the right mix of smooth surfaces and intricate patterns and detailing to give an air of grandeur. Am i the only one who thinks that when you would add all the main characters of the scene to these modules, this would actually make for a very nice official Lego release? Maybe you should put this on Cuusoo ACPin, you never know

Nice AT-PT you created there jmagaletta, it looks instantly recognizable and quite accurate at first glance. As for constructive feedback, i did observe that on reference pictures the legs are attached more to the rear of the main body. Also, i noticed that the lower legs should be a bit longer. I wish you lots of fun gathering the parts and building this cool little craft for real!
-
Ofcourse, but it wouldn't be visible to the human eye

That particular Han Solo figure was also available in 7749 Echo Base, a set which is regarded as a slightly larger battlepack. I hate to disappoint you, but i'm afraid the figure you bought is anything but rare. Luckily you didn't spend much money on it.

MOD: 7661+7868 Obiwan Jedi Starfighter Hyper Ring
DFOL replied to Solscud007's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Though for the Delta-7 starfighter the Syluire-31 hyperdrive ring would be more accurate than the Syluire-45 hyperdrive ring, i can hardly argue with the result. This looks absolutely ace! -
Awesome work there Jason, that's a huge improvement over the last version! You really got the shape of the sphere this time, and the towers and greebles on top look great. The landing gear looks pretty decent too, but is it supposed to carry the sphere? I noticed that each connection in the legs is made only by a single technic pin, which means that every joint is moveable and will probably not support much weight. Now you got the design of the Core ship done, are you planning to make the outer ring of the Lucrehulk Battleship as well?
-
Wow, this is the first time i have seen this ship in anything close to minifig scale! Its enormous size is very impressive and i think the general shape comes quite close to the original design. The real gem is the interior though. It is so elaborate and nicely made, it makes me want to play with it! The only constructive criticism i can think of, is that the exterior has a lot of large bland surfaces. I know it's a pretty smooth ship without much greebling, but maybe you could use some tiles to create the appearance of hull plating?
-
This trench looks amazing, with just the right amount of detail! Too much greebles would've made it look messy and distracting, too few greebles would've made it look plain and boring, but this is just perfect. Well done on a great scene!

Every once in a while a MOC comes along which makes your jaw drop right to the floor. This one belongs without a doubt in that category! I am not that familiar with the source material, but the execution of the concept is just beautiful. The smooth design, the intricate detailing, it all comes together in the most stunning way. I'm deeply impressed, well done!

Thanks for the review Plissken! The skiff itself is quite nice, but the figs are really selling this set to me. Boba Fett and Lando are superb, but i also really like the new Luke. I'm not sure why they went for a grey tunic on him, but i must say it looks great and it gives us some nice variation!

My order finally arrived today, including the set and all the promos. So i'm very relieved, and ofcourse very much looking forward to building the set! The TC-14 is beautiful, she is a fine addition to my collection

A big congrats to Macoco and Brickdoctor! May the force be with you and guide you to regulate this forum wisely

When this set was first announced, i went like "not another Jedi starfighter". And seeing the very first prelim pictures didn't do much to sparkle any enthousiasm, the new cockpit design looked kinda awkward in those. But i guess they worked on it a bit more before the set was officially released, because its looking way better now. I must admit it's starting to grow on me, i might actually pick it up if i can find it at a discount. Thanks for the review Aayla-Secura!

Not lost in the wrong forum as i thought at first glance, but actually a really nice cross-over! Nice work incorporating elements from both the X-Wing and the Batwing in this model. Too bad you weren't able to match the lightsaber blade to the color scheme, as far as i know it's still not available in trans-yellow. The high quality of this creation does make me very curious to see what you're gonna make of the proposed Bow-TIE Fighter!
-
Looking at the pictures on the back of the box, it seems the cockpit can detach as an escape pod. That's quite a nice feature there!
-
Wow... too bad you didn't do this one in the brick as well Anio. You are right about the Naboo Cruiser from Ep.1 being more iconic, but personally i think this design has a bit more character to it. Compared to reference pics the curved slope on the tail fin seems a bit much to me though. Did you try other options there, like the longer curved piece or no curve at all? All in all, i think you captured the lines of this craft beautifully! If Lego released this as a set in chrome or even plain grey, i'd pick it up without a doubt!

Like Clone O'Patra pointed out, this is not the place to start a discussion about that. Search the general discussion forums for elaborate topics on regional differences in pricing and availability, you may find the answers you are looking for there. Lets stick to discussing the new sets here. To get back on topic, those pictures of the skiff and the palace sure look tempting! I've never really been into play sets, but i must admit that Jabba's Palace is looking really good, both the exterior and the interior. Did any of you see the Brick Show pre-release review of the skiff and the palace?
-
Good work on the forced perspective! The miniature palace is very cute, but i'm also quite impressed how well you recreated the landscape in Lego. The entire scene looks spot on compared to the reference picture! Are you planning on making more of these iconic scenes?
-
Lucky for you, it doesn't quite work like that for Lego sets. Usually the price in dollars is the same as the price in euros and vice versa. So good news for you, but a bit less so for us in Europe.
-
Great scene ACPin! I think you captured the look and feel of the Geonosian arena very well. I especially like the effect created by the snot-ed wedges, well done!

Received this e-mail about half an hour ago. A bit late, since the order got shipped this afternoon. Still, i appreciate the gesture all the same. Reading between the lines they have clearly been overwhelmed by the sheer number of orders on may 4th and 5th. I can only imagine the stress their warehouse employees are under right now to get all the orders shipped out. Edit: I see some of you beat me to the punch here.

Yet another Probe Droid and a big hello and thank you to all.
DFOL replied to djs72's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Welcome to the EB community! You sure know how to make an entrance with that nice little probe droid! It is pretty accurate to the real thing overall, but i particularly like the arms underneath. I hope you keep posting your creations, i'd love to see what else you got in store for us! -
I just got an e-mail that my order has been shipped. I guess we'll see soon enough if set and promos are all there (they better be!)

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
DFOL replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow that's quite a lot, but compared to the cheapest BL price it is still a steal. I can highly recommend the set, it is a great design and i don't see it lose its value anytime soon. It has been part of my collection for years and it still looks great among the newer additions.
