Umarak the Destroyer is an ok set but he wasn't bulky enough for my liking. So I've made a few changes to him. They are as followed 1. Completely redesigned the torso so its much bulkier 2. Bulked up legs slightly 3. Removed claw gimmick so he can have poseable wrists. 4. Changed up the horns on the mask. I didn't like how Umarak's horns went away when he put on the Mask of Control so I combined them with the Mask of Control's horns. Umarak's horns are now gold. 5. Moved the jaw up so its not hanging down so far. With that out of the way here are pictures. View from all sides http://www.brickshel...destroyer_1.jpg http://www.brickshel...destroyer_2.jpg http://www.brickshel...destroyer_3.jpg Comparison with my Umarak the Hunter mod. A couple of weeks ago, I was browsing eBay and noticed several knock off Lego trains by a company called Ausini, some with wagons or coachs very clearly based on old Lego designs, some with random new design coachs, all with locomotives that are different to existing Lego designs. One in particular actually looked rather good, and being very cheap (£25 inc postage), I thought why not? I received the set, and was happy to see that, while the bricks were far from Lego quality, they were more than good enough to blend in with proper Lego, and that the set was a fun build. It wasn't, however, perfect. The main problems were the asymmetrical cabs, naff under loco detail, stunted pantagraphs, doors that were too far inset and lack of motive power. I briefly mulled over just using what I had, but I knew I'd need a lot more of certain green and blue bits, and that proper Lego versions would stand out for not being the same shade. So, I decided to buy a second set (irritatingly, it had gone up £5... but still a bargain, considering I was getting another couple of wagons too, oddly enough, I looked after I ordered, and sure enough, it had gone up again by £5... strange strategy by the seller). I already had most of the general Lego pieces I needed to add, and the PF battery box and receiver, but needed a couple of motor bogies (which I duly ordered). Before. Cheating! I like my locos to have 2 motors because I like big heavy trains. Unfortunately, I have yet to pluck up the courage to open up the motors and reverse the polarity, so have generally had to resort to having one end riding on it's wire, causing the loco to wobble at speed. I decided to try something different... I cheated! I left a gap in the floor of the slight overhang the cab is built on at one end, and cut a bit of plastic off of the middle of the end of the (not-Lego) trainplate, to allow the wire to pass into the loco without anything resting on it. Other than that, the construction was a fun and easy process that happily took up an otherwise rather useless morning. The Finished Loco. Notice the use of dark transparent studs to indicate lights that aren't lit, both on the cab ends, and next to the currently not in use pantagraph. I also needed to come up with a way to fit in the sensor and the on button into the roof, which took some modifying of the original design (a shame because I liked it). I fashioned a free floating block of Lego with the round and rounded upside down plate at the bottom to act as the switch.

Can Any one help me mod my 8098 Clone Turbo Tank (Clone Wars)
shrak posted a topic in LEGO Star Wars
So can any one give me some ideas of what I should do to modify my set. I would like to keep some what the way it is as it is modeled after the version seen in season 2 of star Wars the Clone Wars Holocron Heist. It would also be nice if they could be done medium to minimal requirement of pieces as I would be using the spare pieces I have already not going to go and buy new pieces just to mod it. Thanks to all who can help me! -
As much as I like the Gorilla Buster, I didn't like the open top aspect of it, so decided to modify it and add a canopy. I also didn't like the cannons on the front so I removed them (and turned them into ears)

Hi All, Just sharing a modification of the LEGO Bike Shop & Café set. My kid liked the original advanced build of the set but somehow it was a little too cramped even when opened up. We additionally tried the easy and medium builds to see how it felt but somehow it still lacked room to play. So we decided to revisit the whole concept of the Bike Shop & Café and modularize it. The concept of the modification is to merge the Bike shop and Café as one establishment allowing us to make a 2nd floor loft apartment, which meant more space across the board. We reused alot of the interior pieces from the original set which were really nice. We kept it to two floors to keep it relatively small, which gave us an opportunity to make a nice end lot to place with other modulars. Unfortunately we couldn't stick to just the original pieces so we had to use various additional pieces we had, a 32x32 baseplate and alot of 2x2 tiles for the pavement. My kid enjoys it and somehow prefers the removable floors vs the open-up approach. As there's alot more detail in this build and I can't put up too many images you can check it out here. http://www.boxtoy.co...isited-moc.html Hope you guys like it.

So, I'm going to have to dismantle my 3rd attempt at a semi-permanent Lego railway due to it being situated under a building site. Also, I have bought some more appropriate tables which will allow it to bw properly level, and allow me some extra space to extend it and add another loop (on the station side), so now seemed like a good time to photograph it for prosperity. Overview The Rolling Stock I also have a couple of modded HE sets (ie one full TGV), but due to space and it being the most awkward to operate, it's currently sat on my dad's far from complete 00 layout. Hey, I've been bricklinking the UCS Falcon from 2007 and have seen a lot of mods. I usually mod stuff that I bricklink, and was looking for inspiration. Hello, sorry if this would better fit in a general thread, but here I go. Together with my lover we both have a 9398 to play around with. I've upgraded mine with 2XL motors instead of the usual L ones. It works really well even without any differentials. But now we want to upgrade the other one to 4XL motors. Now we ain't too sure about how to do it without destroying how the truck looks like. Switching the motors wasn't much of a change, but now with 4 XL, 2 B.Packs and 2 IR it might gets a little cramped. So does anyone have done something similar? Even a 4XL crawler base would be nice to look at, didn't found any :/ And if someone has some kind of build for a motorised Unimog that would be nice to see too. Like details and such. Well.... I'll keep this thread updated as we progress... :P

Every Lego Star Wars fan has come across that one set that, while it may be good, could be better. This is a stream to share your modded Star Wars sets and ships, not for MOCs, but the sets in which you have decided to improve upon what's already there.

So I finally opened my 42004 set, and built the B model, so that I would have the mini turntable. Something immediately jumped out at me, and that was the fact that there was no mechanism to control the bucket tilt, aside from moving the thing yourself. I looked at the sizeable pile of spare parts, and thought, why couldn't I modify it to include that mechanism? This mod is incredibly easy, and as mentioned before, only uses the parts left over from building the B model. I'm actually kind of shocked that Lego did not do this originally, as it's very simple, and would not have required any additional parts. Well, enough of my blabbering, let's get to building! Start with the B model: Then, remove the following parts: the bevel gear from the steering control, the 2 L liftarm from one of the steering arms, and the bush above it, and remove the side of the bucket linkage with the axle joiner, as shown. Then, pull the following parts out of the pile of extras: A 9L beam, and a 7L axle. everything else should be easily recognizable. Now, assemble as shown in the pictures: Now, knock out the 4L axle holding the arm to the chassis: And remove the piece from between the arms. (It's a liftarm with both an axle and a pinhole.) Put that piece on the empty steering arm. Put the arm back together, and thread the 7L axle through as shown. Now attach the arm piece, which you built a couple of steps ago. ( I actually made a mistake with this, the liftarm holding the two pieces together should be facing the other way.) Now add the control knob, which should be fairly easy to make. Now put the bucket linkage back together. And you are done! So, do you like this? Edit: Booyah! 300th post!

Since centuries ago, the dragons from Historica have had dealings with a number of humans, but never has there been a stronger bond betweenthe two species than the one that can be found among the inhabitants of the secluded Dragonpeaks. In fact, the bonding is so great that the dragons, who live for several centuries, share a fraction of their life force with the rider they choose, thereby allowing those to live far longer than an average Historician. Rhitharg the Young is a red dragon of merely 109 years who hasn't yet fully grown horns to indicate his adulthood. As his potential riders tend to die before the rite can be completed, he hasn't found a rider accustomated to him: Sirdthig, the current rider, seems to be quite affected towards him, though. Maybe because they both share a fairly violent nature even when compared to other pairs. His squire definitely thinks so and, since the rite includes the decapitation of the squire if the bonding between dragon and rider fails, would highly appreciate it if the soon to be held rite would this time be successful. Note: This is a slight modification of the dragon that appeared in set 7017. Unlike most other dragon riders, though, Thoragvil Son of Thror isn't fond of flying, at all. Perhaps that's the reason why he got chosen by Urhark the Fierce, one of the largest two-legged dragons to be known in the annals of Câr Thrakartis. His inability to fly doesn't reduce his might one bit and his surname is not without foundation, either. In fact, enemies reportedly flee the moment they notice that particular pair approaching them. Not that it helps, since despite his bulky appearance, no horse has ever managed to out-run Urhark. And once he engages in melee, nothing can stop him until the last foe is slain: Note: Obviously, this one is a modicifation of 2509 Finally, the Lord of the Dragonpeaks doesn't settle below accompanying the Lord of the Dragons themselves. Therefore, Thror III. has bonded with Thrak the Tall decades ago. Even among his kin, Thrak is unusually large and recently manifested his nickname by towering even above some of the elementals summoned by Victor Revolword. Some of which he fought personally while defending several cities. Unlike most other dragons that rely on their claws, tails and breath as weapons, he additionally uses a giant mace and a shield to increase his arsenal: Note: A modification of Ofnir from 7021 As always, C&C are most welcome and more can be found at Flickr

Hello, It's been a while since I presented here my last moc, a modular bank --> http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=96144 Today I could finally finish one of my many projects, a modification of the Dedective Office in this case. When I saw the first pictures of this set, I knew I would mod it some day. One year later, with the release of the Brick Bank, everything became clear for me. So, since I already have my own bank, I will transform the Brick Bank into a police station. For that, the laundry had to make place. And because the barber moved to another building in town... Like most people I was pretty excited when 75137 Carbon Freezing chamber was first announced. Like most people, I was also pretty disappointed to see the 'finished' set, which looks decidedly unfinished to me. After getting the official set, I started playing around with a few modifications with the bricks I had to hand with a view to extending the set to at least half the octagon. Although this added to the scene, it was still well below par in my eyes. I was lucky enough to find an eBay seller with two sets available without minifigures. They saving a postage meant that I managed to get the sets for £6.50 each so I was pretty pleased with the bricks I now had to work from... 3 complete sets. My first effort kept the original (and pointless) lowering mechanism in place, which meant that two hinged sections had to be included. I made the folding sections the segments with the control panel on. I also ditched the lift immediately. With the two control panel segments, it was possible to flip them out and lower Han, but the segments did not sit totally flush when closed, so I decided they had to go! From the pictures I found, the chamber does have dual control panels, and I also picked up another cheap Ugnaught, so the panels stayed. The completed octagon now does not open but is massively more sturdy because of it. Completing the octagon drew almost exclusively from pieces included in the 3 x original set, with only a couple of additional pieces (namely a few smaller plates, tiles and a couple of 6054852s). I decided to include a rising staircase - famous as the starting point for the Father-revealing duel - but also included 2 additional staircases as this is one part of the original set that actually looked pretty good. Some pictures... Of course I had to check it out with a few of the OT faces filling the platform (biggest problem here... no Lando or Bespin guards, but at least the advent calendar should help with that problem). The next issue was the fact that the freezing platform no longer worked via the original mechanism and I now had limited room inside to rework it. After all manner of lever systems and rack and pinion set ups, i finally just decided on a simple sliding trapdoor style mechanism. By simply pulling on the original shaft, the platform (which is on a tall pedestal) simply drops down through 2 steps. You have to raise it again by hand, but it enables perfect poisitioning for recreating the scene with what could be described as a 'play feature'. My final issue with the set is the lack of the clamping claw that brings the carbonite block up. This section is still a WIP but I thought I'd share my progress so far. I didn't want the roof and claw section to actually be attached to the set as I felt it would hamper access a bit, so I designed it to be free-standing. The main issue is that it's extremely top heavy, but I've finally got a stand with a Y-shaped base that works, it just needs a bit of tidying up. The top section folds up to allow access when it is in position, the clamps open and close and the whole thing also spins. I'll update photos when it's done and does require the hand to hold it in place! Best of all, from the original sets, I still have all this left over! All comments and suggestion happily received! Thanks for looking!

Hi, I badly wanted to have the Millenium Falcon 4504 as I liked the overall design the most. What I did was not just buy a set but to look for missing parts at bricklink to build my one version. Regrettably I realised that the original build was highly unstable and nothing for a 7 year old son. Whether it was lifted on the side or in the frond it almost ended up breaking apart... Folding up the top ends in having the parts in the hand rather than on the falcon... . I do not know what TLG thought at that time how this should be playable... So I completely enforced the ground plate, the front wings (still space for the cargo :) ), two hinges on each pair of roofwings, raised the center tower by two plates in order for the falcon not to look too flat, etc... Well here is the result, hope you like it:

Hi everyone. It has been ages since I have really done anything Lego related. Hopefully I will get some more stuff up at some point. Anyway for now, I decided to do something at least. I liked the look of the seasonal 40125 set, however on it's own it looked a bit empty and lonely. So I decided to buy two and modify it to make it much bigger. Here is the result, hope you enjoy.

I seem to be trying out a lot of random and disparate bits n bobs n ideas right now, and rather than cluttering up the forum with each new idea, I thought I'd post em all in a specific thread. -------------------- Continuing from the Mk1 MOC I posted in this thread, I finished the design, although by the time I had done that, I had already decided that, as much as I like it, I won't be building it for a good while. It's far too big for my very limited layout (neither the space, nor resources for smooth curves at the moment), and to be honest, the one steam loco I currently have is not of a standard, nor really in the same scale, to go with it. So, I still have a steam loco, and only modern era freight stock for it to pull, so what to do? I decided to settle for a 6 stud wide Mk1 inspired design that is a lot closer to normal Lego lengths (I still slightly lengthened the larger standard train base), which I have dubbed the Mk0.5... :P As well as being shorter, thinner and flat of profile, it's also considerably less detailed, with features largely inspired by the same playability (and in the case of the doors, building practice) of the Creator Horizon Express (aka TGV). It's mainly intended as a quick train builder so I have something to play with while I design better more detailed rolling stock and locos. There are currently 4 different types: Mk0.5 Full 1st. Mk0.5 Buffet 1st. Mk0.5 Full Std. Mk0.5 Std Brake. ...And finally, a quick image of the full rake behind a rather out of date version of my Mongrel Mogul! At some point I'll post photos of the now basically complete loco, but for now, I think I've filled the net with enough nonsense!
