  1. a good idea would be to put gear reduction after the diff
  2. I was sure I'd seen something with Crab/Ackerman before and finally found it, it's part 6 below the picture. Link to topic http://www.eurobrick...pic=89963&st=25
  3. I'm intrigued by the rim's, I thought that the 6-hole rims had a ridge thing like the 8043 rims do that prevented 3rd party tires fitting well with out cutting them. If you do get them please post some pictures for us.
  4. Does it need neutral? if not I may have an idea Edit: didn't work, good luck though
  5. On family vacations to historic places, I'm so focused on where we are I don't even notice all the old machinery lying about the place.
  6. This is superb I want one or 2 maybe 5. Did I read it correctly, can you control one over the internet if there is a device running the app near by, does this mean there can be international LEGO competitions where the vehicles can be driven from anywhere in the world! and does the $180 pack include the Volvo set and an SBrick?
  7. Found this rather interesting machine on a trip to the city, thought i'd share it for inspiration as i lack the skills/powerfunctions to build such a coplex machine
  8. Interesting Idea, the gearing of the out-put axles would be immense, I'd say it would work.
  9. wow awesome work! are you going to sell these as complete units? I would definitely buy some.
  10. a road roller perhaps?

    Suspension (Mk 3)

Cutting pieces NOOOO!!!! I have a solution on what I used on my minifig unimog the axle is a 6 unit long piece and the wheels stay on quite well and as a bonus the hubs(the half bush) don't rotate with the wheels giving a similar effect to spinner hub caps. the tires are These but will work with tires that fit on these or these Image of axle: https://www.flickr.com/photos/92450343@N07/13298542283/
  12. I just bought these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4PCS-RC-1-10-Rally-Climbing-Rock-Crawler-Wheel-Rim-108-mm-Tyre-Tires-703-7032-/251498817564?pt=AU_Toys_Hobbies_Radio_Controlled_Vehicles&hash=item3a8e7f681c&_uhb=1 sorry my camera is out of action, but they fit perfectly on the Technic Racing Medium and are as tall as the Power puller and have enough grip to climb up a 65 degree slope maybe more with a slower gearbox and theres 4 of them for $20AUD the wonders of china.

    [WIP] Unimog 416

hey, sorry for the halted MOC, I'm waiting on some RC tires to replace the 8466 tires(no grip, too heavy and a bit too wide) and my IR receivers have stopped.
  14. "Thats the best it can do I'm not going to push it any further" "I managed to fit every function I wanted into this MOC"
  15. Has anybody used/seen/ know anything about this?

    [MOC][LDD] Unimog 406/416 Doka

Hello, First time on this forum as I'm exclusively (but not today) a Technic builder so I do apologise if It's not in the right place. After getting a bit stuck on my current project ( a 1/10 scale RC unimog ) I decided to try to build a smaller version out of bricks as a model to copy in technics. I quickly ran out of parts and was forced to move the model to LDD. So the Unimogs, 4 of them, 406/U900 and the longer wheelbase 416/U1100 with 4 seater variants or Doka as they are called Size comparison: From top left 406, 406 Doka, 416, 416 Doka Foreground 406, Background 416 The bodies are 6 wide and the wheels are a little over 8 (the blade on the front is 10 wide) I attempted to recreate the Iconic curved bonnet of the 406/416, while not perfect it's as close as i could do: The doors on all models open to reveal the Minifig seats 2 in the front and for the doka variants a bench seat in the back for 2( In reality they seat 3 on the bench) 406/U900 416/U1100 Doka The 3 sides of the trays all fold down on every model tray sizes 406 Doka: 6x5 406 : 6x7 416 Doka: 6x8 416 : 6x10 Each has portal axles (406 show only difference is red axle is longer on 416) there is a 3-point hitch front and rear on all models

    [MOC][LDD] Unimog 406/416 Doka

Neither had I, they hold up ok pushing the brick built test ( just the axles, 2 seats and a door) even though each portal hub is only held on with the width of a half bush . No the suspension isn't functional but I see no reason not to try it And the minifigs are just what I had in the brick test model.
  18. Thats an awesome way to use a diff, with a bit of re-arranging you can have the diff lockable, but i'd change the 24-8 gears to something else though.
  19. Would Part 4700 be suitable? it looks to be larger than Part 2950 If anyone has Part 4700 and Set 8043 I would very much like to see them together.
  20. Finnish the Unimog (icon) a tracked tractor using the steering system from my Triple entry with PTO for a loader and 3 point hitch Something with the drive and steering of the other Tractor from my Triple entry A 4 door roadster being a cross between a Mercedes G4 and 540K 6x6 drive and 4 wheel steering and extended Bonnet to fit 6XL and look like it has 2 V16's. ridiculously tight steering (currently 60degree on front axle but too weak might need to be 4x6) about the length of the Tow truck and using the same wheels. and a RC 4x4 mod of the Kombi set(just need to get the set)
  21. Hello, I come with an idea, a RC 6x6 8285 keeping the outside as close to the original as possible, but redoing the internals for full RC functions and 6x6 drive I don't have enough parts to finish it as it seams the majority of the truck may have been lost in a move 4 years ago Has anyone done something similar before? If not hopefully this will spawn inspiration for someone else as this would be epic!
  22. Wow that was quick! It looks awesome!
  23. Tractors Ok so the parts: 1: Tracked Tractor: The Tractor is driven by an XL motor through a Froward/Reverse gearbox controlled by the grey" L" half beam to the right of the seat. The steering system: The gear on the back is connected to a mini-LA witch rotates a cam between 2 black discs, as the gear is tuned, the cam presses a pneumatic tube against one of the discs, increasing the resistance and therefor slowing that sides track through the differential, this creates a steering motion. Seat view: 2: Three-wheeled Tractor I intended to build the strangest tractor ever, I think it's close. So this is 1 wheel drive and steer. An XL-Motor powers this through a Forward/Reverse Gearbox as well. The front wheel can rotate indefinitely resulting in a very tight turning circle steered by the steering wheel, it's a lot of fun to drive and i will have to make a RC one someday. It also has a PTO to power model 3... 3: towed mower/harvester as I needed a trailer to house the battery box and a trailer seemed a bit boring, I decided to build a mower/ harvester powered by the PTO of the tractors to control both lifting and and the cutter a direction sensitive gearbox was implemented using just the single PTO shaft from the tractor enabling drive and cutter/lifting from a single motor and no electronic switches.
  24. An idea, as you asked for in the first post: how about a 4 axle truck with 2 steered axles or for a real challenge, suspension.
