    10233 Horizon Express

The guy in the shop said the retail stores get preference over S@H - and they said the set was selling very quickly! My S@H order is still showing as backordered so I'm glad I went and got them at the shop!

    10233 Horizon Express

Started putting mine together shortly after getting home. What a really great build - quite a few new techniques (for me anyway) and a really enjoyable process. Completed the loco and the first carriage so far. Contemplating using 9V (one at each end) to power it rather than PF as I think it will go faster, although will probably use PF for lighting. Very good value at £160 for a 6 unit train (it just wouldn't work with one set).

    10233 Horizon Express

I ordered two online (+ power functions IR receiver and lights) and mine is showing up as backorder as well. But, rang up the Lego shop in Westfield Shepherds Bush and they've got stock and put two aside for me! Can't wait!
  4. I just picked one of these from my local Argos - seems they're not actually released and they didn't want to sell it to me. However, the manager saw the sad look on my face and overrode the system. Looks like a pretty decent set for the money (£80). It might have to jump the queue in front of all my other unbuilt Lego as it looks pretty damn cool.

Where to buy Lego in London?

There's also Hamley's on Regent street, although they do tend to be a little more expensive than other retailers.

    What did you buy today?

Not today, but a couple of days ago; Large PAB order and the Modular Fire Station. Thinking about getting the Town Hall soon (and R2D2, Sopwith Camel...the list goes on)...

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

I got some replacement stickers on eBay. not as good as the originals but perfectly acceptable. From this seller: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/clairstraws

    Best Creationary Creations

Your boat is really good! We have Creationary too which we take on our holidays. My daughter absolutely LOVES playing it!

How much is your SW collection worth?

I'd rather not say too, but it would also be way too much. Luckily my wife is quite understanding. I'm guessing all of my Lego would probably buy me a very nice car if I sold it.
  11. Well, been a member for a short time and made a couple of posts in the Star Wars and Train Tech forms so thought I'd better say hello properly! I'm somewhat of a Lego nutter - my house is slowly being taken over by the plastic brick. I'm not sure there is any room in the house that doesn't have at least a couple of Lego items in it! Mostly interested in Creator, City (inc Modulars), Trains and the bigger Star Wars sets. So far mostly been building via instructions and then displaying but my daughter and I are about to embark on some proper MOC'ing! Favourite sets include Tower Bridge, Eiffel Tower, Emerald Night and my recent Millenium Falcon (10179) aquisition. P.S. I'm Eric - Kungpo is a nickname from a very long time ago when I worked in a Call Center and had a thing for Kung Po chicken!

    Brick de-yellowing techniques

I'v had all the bits sitting in a solution of Vanish Oxi on it's own, but after two days not much change - probably not enough sunlight (being indoors and all). Will try with Peroxide out in the day over the weekend and see what happens!

    Brick de-yellowing techniques

My daughter is busy building all the modular houses and wanted to build my old Market Street. I grabbed it down from the loft after putting it away a couple of years ago where it had been on display on one of the window sills on the house. Anyway, I (must) have put it away without noticing that some of the pieces are really badly yellowed. Having re-opened the box and little freezer bags of pieces I'm seeing LOADS of nasty looking White and Blue pieces. I've seen a few references to Retrobright, so I've aquired the Hydrogen Peroxide and Oxi action power, but before I start, I'm wondering if anyone has had any success with this? I hope it works as I've noticed that my Cafe Corner has lots of yellowed pieces (still on display) and will probably need a tidy up before it goes on my daughters shelf with all the other modulars.

    TC-14 Lego Promo

I got two TC-14's as well as a tote bag in place of one TC-14 and R2 D2 poster - I'm ok with that. As I made 4 orders that day I now have 8 TC-14's so I can certainly open one and play with it! Not sure the tote bags are so amazing but maybe my daughter can use one as her swimming kit bag.

    Hello from Slough (England)

Hi and thanks. Yes - I've seen the contest - my daughter and I are considering entering once we decide what to create! Star Wars train might be interesting - might be able to do a monorail as I have loads of monorail pieces too.
  16. Recent orders from S@H was the SSD and Imperial Shuttle (during May the 4th promo weekend), but most recent arrival was a 2nd hand UCS Millenium Falcon (10179) from eBay. Expensive but well worth it I think. Can't wait to get building it.

    TC-14 Lego Promo

It worked as guest, so I'm a bit gutted I won't get any VIP points, but the 20% discount on the SSD and Shuttle is worth it. Will still call customer services on Monday and have a moan!

    TC-14 Lego Promo

Still no joy. This is sooo irritating as I bet it works tomorrow when the promo is over. I might need to have a proper moan on Monday (or Tuesday see as it's a bank holiday here in the UK).

    TC-14 Lego Promo

I've been trying all day at S@H without success - I get to the checkout point and when I click Place Order it thinks for a bit but then comes back to the same page without going any further. Arrghhhh!

How Many Trains Do You Own?

I'm new on here, but been collecting trains for a while now (the 7740 was my first train which I got as a child). Restarted with trains when I saw a 4511 in the shops when it was current, then got the Metroliner as the Lego Legend set (10001). Just started collecting up all the 12V stuff in addition to the 9V. The 181 is a nod to my wife who had one of those as a child. So far: 1x 181 Lego System Train 1x 7740 Intercity Train 2x 7745 High Seeed Express 2x 4558 Metroliner 1x 10001 Metroliner 1x 4563 Load'n'haul 2x 4561 Railway Express 1x 4564 Freight Rail Runner 2x 4559 Cargo Railway 2x 4511 High Speed Train 1x 4551 Crocodile 3x 10194 Emerald Night 3x 10219 Maersk Train 3x 7897 Passenger Train 3x 7938 Passenger Train 1x 7939 Cargo Train 1x 3677 Red Cargo Train Multiple sets are usually a consequence of wanting either lots of extra carriages, or to make up a complete set. If I only had the space to have them all on display at the same time that would be something. Loads of other 9V train related bits but that's another story!
