  1. Noting that the little motor that comes with the solar educational set can be a motor or generator, one would imagine it would be fine - plus wouldn't create more power than it can take? Although @Allanp is right in so far as not stressing the internal components of the motor.

Powered Up - A tear down...

Why wouldn't it work? Have the 2nd train using port 2 and reverse the control.

Powered Up - A tear down...

I have 2x the 60197 trains - it is possible to control both "engines" from one controller? Do you have to use channel 1 on one hub and channel 2 on the other? I did see the Lego FAQs and it seems to say it's possible, just not how to do it. Can I control multiple trains at one time? Yes, with the remote control. Currently the Powered Up App only controls one Powered Up Hub at a time.

    LEGO 60197 Passenger Train

Good price on Amazon UK at the moment. Got a pair at £90 each.
  5. 42006 as well I thought? https://brickset.com/sets/42006-1/Excavator

    60051 x2 motor placement

I didn't extend the locomotives - just the carriages. The Lego LEDs fit in the nose ok.

    60051 x2 motor placement

I found 2x 60051 doesn't have quite enough pieces for 4 carriages and found myself getting another unpowered engine to get the requisite pieces to make the 4th carriage (only because it was much cheaper than another carriage). You might then find the carriages look disproportionally short compared to the "engines" so I then extended mine to 28 studs long.
  8. I believe some online backorders are going through. My order from the launch date has changed to "In Warehouse" which I assume means it will ship soon.
  9. They do indeed. Just popped in and got one!
  10. I have to find this lack of decent communications from Lego quite frustrating. For those of us who have a backorder from S@H seem to have had no indication on when we might get them yet those that put themselves on the waitlist in store are getting them sooner. Argghhhh!
  11. I spoke to customer services this morning - the lady said they've been informed that around the beginning of November they think backorders will ship. But might be sooner. But I think November looks likely,

    Simply Outstanding!
  13. Well, I'm going to give this a go soon - got some 14mm marbles and the instructions. Just need to find some time!

Late to the modular game *update pg 3!*

Me too - it's the only one I haven't got. But not going to pay £1K for one now. Might build a Blue Grocer one day I suppose.
  15. Good to know - any recommended sellers? As I'm missing the GC from my modulars collection I think I will get one of those as I'm not quite ready to spend £1K on the real deal. And perhaps another UCS Falcon so I can put my genuine one away. Thank you - that's really useful and nice to get a balanced view.
  16. I'm tempted to get something to see what the quality is like - but ordering from China feels a bit tedious. Anyone had any success so far buying something from AliExpress?
  17. From Facebook: I have been hearing some concerns with lepin bricks, apparently it has been giving people itchy skin. I do not know if this is the plastic or the oils they use for the molding process. I did not notice it when building the ninjago temple or the 2 star wars sets but I have seen more and more people online mention it. So I do feel the need to mention it and warn people. And of cos ask anyone if they have experienced and irritation or itchiness from any of the knockoff brands and wonder if this is dangerous long term. Keep the kids safe! Thanks!

The Cyclone - LEGO Compatible Roller Coaster

I've backed it as well. I was one of the lucky ones to get the Rollercoaster factory but sadly not had the time to explore it.

Lego Star Wars Electric AT AT walker

There is a Mindstorms version from a while back as well. Bit more skeletal in appearance.
  20. See if you can collect the bits to make an 8043 - this is an amazing build as well. Some yellow panels are quite rare/expensive but you don't have to make it yellow (red and white has been done). You will need more M motors and some IR transmitters but both are fairly cheap. If you can locate a cheap 42006 on eBay that's a good place to start as a donor set.

    Request: Fairground Sets

Don't forget the Grand Carousel (10196) as well - older but certainly part of the same theme I'd say.

    Lego HQ UK?

They have a big office in Slough - I thought that was the UK Head Office?
