2025 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Mopasali replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Ha, and one is a unicorn in the joust build! Plus a sheep. I'm unusual as I like the more detailed brick-built animals. It's easier to color-swap and customize brick-built animals. I'm curious how the horses look without barding (if they can even lose the barding). -

Do you all think we get pricing and final designs for BDP Series 5 tomorrow? That series includes Tortuga, which can serve as a tropical/Mediterranean medieval village, and a Gothic castle in Adventure in Transylvania. We saw sneak peeks of the final designs a few weeks ago, but BDP's timeline has finalizing designs until May 1. -

With some leaks on the Unicorn Castle, we're getting molded horses - 2 foals and a unicorn! Awesome for a fantasy build! I think my Orions from CMF 26 will live in this affordable castle in the cloud. -

Disney sets/CMF are excellent to get femme royals. Snow White's Queen and Princess Aurora wear modest medieval dresses without obvious modern details. BAM had a green queen last year and CMF had a French Aristocrat if you want bigger dresses (although magenta in the CMF may have been hard to get before trade with the Americas.) The Harry Potter theme has long robes/dresses that typically lack modern details, so they work in various eras. Professor McGonagall has a navy & green dress in Hogsmeads Village that I love. And Dumbledore's long robes in many sets will work as gowns for female royals. You just need the right hair with a pinhole for their crowns! -

I'm quite confused by the competing leaks, too. It's possible the early ones were from a preliminary set and not from retailer catalogs, which are much closer to final. Preliminary sets have leaked before (the survey leak), but as suspected that was much earlier than we've seen for this set. Then again BDP shows that prints and graphic design don't take long to finalize. For example, stickers/prints were finalized in less than 4 months for BDP 6, all the while completing the other finalization work. I find it really intriguing that the colors for the snake are black and yellow - same as Ravens! It's quite possible that the factions in Creator Knight Castle were in limbo until the Prize Machine results and final decision (the including two factions) was made. The original leak said the horse colors were black/gray/red, which is perhaps too similar to Griffon. I find the leaks really interesting to follow, but I'm much more skeptical of future leaks on this set on particular. Hopefully we see pictures soon! -

Whoa, new leak for upcoming Creator Castle that disputes prior leaks. Now it's two factions - white and blue horse & yellow and black snake! Discord has sketches. I'm excited for two, but with the competing leaks, I'll be hesitant to believe anything strongly or to remodel my kingdoms to incorporate the new factions until the official reveals. -

They're in the right color family for the Kraken Knights! As another way to expand the Kraken Kingdom, my D&D Mindflayers are patiently waiting for their Kraken knight. -

Maybe reprints of Animal Crossing heads? They're close, but not sure if Nintendo is strict on the design and use of the heads. To keep it medieval-related, I wouldn't mind a new animal head in neutral time period (no hats) for fantasy builds. Fabuland had a cow head, so that'd be fun to get for minotaurs or World of Warcraft. -

The Castle Discord is having a competition for MOCs of what the Medieval Horse Knight Castle could look like. I'm excited to see rather moderate piece counts of castle builds! Deadline is June 15th, so we could see leaks of the real set before this competition ends, but castle MOCs of less than 3000 pieces is always inspiring. -

Probably not. In 2023 we got information on the August Creator wave in early May with official reveals in mid May. Last year some August City sets had build features leak in April. Unlike recent castle sets (Town Square, Lion Knights Castle, Blacksmith), I believe this wave of Creator (this horse knight castle, unicorn castle, and haunted house) is not a Lego exclusive for any time period, so information on the sets are circulated to a lot of stores in advance of the release date. There are many possible sources of leaks. Additionally, Europe gets some summer waves in June (while release dates in North America tend to be August). Thus, leaks can come very early. Promobricks has issued very early and accurate information on summer waves, probably thanks to the German toy store whose ads leak! I wouldn't be surprised if at least the Knight Castle and the Haunted House get significant leaks in the next two months. -

I think there was a leak on the Discord that they are brick-built. I'm hoping they'll update the build from the 70s/80s brick-built horses as current pieces allow for beautiful MOCs of horses. They recently recolored the horse head mold from a CMF for the Trevi Fountain, so we could get that too. Even though I generally prefer brick-built animals, the exception is for molded horses probably out of nostalgia for the 90s sets. But a great benefit of brick-built is you can make your own colors! And you can modify the build to get slightly different mounts like unicorns, reindeer, donkeys, etc. There's a great MOC on Rebrickable for a mountable brick-built wolf for the CMF Barbarian, and we'd never get molded versions of all possible mounts from fantasy/legend. There's a few brick-built bardings as well, and we'd never get prints for all factions. So there are big benefits for us that top designers at Lego get creative with brick-built animals. -

We don't really need a new mold, only a recolor to solid black from the one in Dreamzzz. I got the new wave of Dreamzzz, and its raven is big, but ravens (not crows) can have a wingspan of almost 5' (just shy of a medieval human). Regardless of the Raven faction, it'll be nice to see that mold reused. -

Do we all think the shield is close to accurate to the new faction? It looks like brown and yellow? Brown horse on a yellow field possibly. In this shot, the flags lean orange, but the houses still look very blue and yellow like the retired Creator Castle. Very excited for two new factions (leaker on discord said unicorn gets new shields too)! Plus whatever won for Ideas Minifigure Factory. -

Yours are really similar to the ones in the original joust set from over 40 years ago - 6083! And 6083 was in the tapestry in Medieval Town Square, so I think you're close. I appreciate any build for barding that uses basic pieces to create any faction we want. Rebrickable has a MOC using plates, but I like your fringe detail. -

On the Trevi Fountain, it looks like there's a new/re olor piece for a brick-built horse in the fountain? I'm not an expert, but maybe it's a recolor of the horse head in the CMF for Knight of the Yellow Castle. But I like the possibility it's how they will decorate the upcoming Creator Medieval Horse and Unicorn Castles. -

You kind of get both those houses/factions in Harry Potter! The similarity to Harry Potter and the existing Black Falcons is why I voted for the Krakens - totally different from current offerings. -

Ah, Blacksmith was first. So maybe it will be the faction from the Ideas set. Some fans have speculated that Lego would not reuse a ln Ideas exclusive torso so soon, but it was just a few months for the rebooted Black Falcons then. But I still don't think it makes sense as the new faction should have its castle specific to it, and there doesn't seem a lot of time between end of that vote (June 2024) and release of this Castle (June 2025), especially for a 3 in 1 set. But my wish is each build is for a different faction in the vote! Boat for Kraken, forest for Raven, and imposing tower for bulls (sorry Griffins - too close to HP). Harry Potter did that for a set. -

And the Black Falcons returned in the Creator Set, right? We got the torso and the shield there, while some components were reused in the Blacksmith, Lion Knights, and CMF Falconer. -

My Targets have them, but they seem to be behind service counters. Would it be bad to buy some, scan at home, and then return what I don't need? They'd be able to resale them as you don't have to reopen, and I'd probably keep most (but a couple of Dragonborns would be so nice!). If people are opening boxes or stealing, I don't mind having to ask for them. It seems to apply to all blind boxes at my Targets, not just Lego, so it's not just our fellow fans that are causing problems.- 684 replies

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
Mopasali replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
A recolor of the Ninjago baddies' one available now? A human that wears a wolfmask in natural colors with a Wolfpack torso would still be cool and very creepy for a group of bandits. That would be relatively cheap for Lego for the CMF, so an animal is still likely. -

For re-use, the Aarakocra parts could be recolored to gray for a statue or decoration for any City or Modular. Dreamzzz is into birds this wave, so a dark minifig version could be viable in that theme. The Lady of Pain mask would be great for more Carnival dancers! Vidiyo had a leaf based one, but Lady of Pain fits a feather style. Big headdresses show up in a few cultures.- 684 replies

I've never purchased a full CMF set before, but will for this series. How come so many places can sell a set at less than retail? Or is it only cheaper for pre-orders? And the set's elf ears are now on PAB!- 684 replies

Botanical Collection - Rumours and Discussion
Mopasali replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
With the Chrysanthemum and Plum Blossom sets unveiled, Bamboo and Orchid are pretty much confirmed to be coming (official description and box art shows the two others). I like the purple orchids in Isabela's flower pot, but I'd rather have the Botanicals version. What color orchid do you think we're getting in this subtheme? I'm betting on yellow, but I really want more purple.- 137 replies
