Hi all I’ve tried unsuccessfully to locate the source of this torso. Is anyone able to help me? Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thinks in advance. The link is to an eBay page, but the seller is away. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/255497934288 -

Thank you very much for helping me identify the part. I kept looking through all of the castle minifigs and it was driving me crazy because I couldn’t find it. -

1993 LEGO World Expo "Pirates Ahoy" Souvenir Booklet
Pirate_King_1982 replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Wow I would have loved to see this exhibition in person. I went to a LEGO a exhibition in 1990 that was explorer themed. There were LEGO constructions of explorers taken from both history and fiction and included Gulliver of Gulliver’s Travels, Neil Armstrong landing on the moon, Dr Livingstone and the first submarine to descend into the Mariana Trench. I was in awe seeing it all and had the program from the event but alas I am unable to share scans of it like those for the Pirates Ahoy one above as it didn’t stand up to he rigours of time very well. There was also a temporary store and cafe attached to the exhibit and my parents let me buy the LEGO Pirate Minifugres 6521 box and we got hotdogs for lunch. It was fantastic day that stands out in my mind. There is currently a Jurassic World LEGO exhibition featuring LEGO constructs by Ryan McNaught in home city open until February and I’m going to go before it gets taken away. https://exhibition.thebrickman.com -

Hi I’m thinking about starting my own personal blog about Warhammer 40k, LEGO Pirates, LEGO Castle, MOCs that I create and MOCs I purchase, both in kit form and building instructions, as well as music, books and films I like some time in the foreseeable future. I’d like to think I’ve got a pretty decent command over the English language and have served as a moderator of a Warhammer 40k forum, but have no experience as a blogger. I would like to sign up for this, to learn as much about blogging as I can, as well as learn tips and tricks for creating LEGO MOCs. So consider this me putting my hat in the ring. -

LEGO 2022 Bricktober Pirate Adventure Ride Set Revealed
Pirate_King_1982 replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I don’t know I’d go that far. There’s a sextant, bicorn pirate hat, telescope they used for the mast thingy on the bow and bricks an pieces are always useful even as filler. -
First look at new Gift With Purchase Set: Ray the Castaway
Pirate_King_1982 replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Cool. How much do you have to spend to get this? Looks cool. The only thing that doesn’t look all that pirates themed is the life ring, but it would be easy enough to leave that off. -
LEGO 2022 Bricktober Pirate Adventure Ride Set Revealed

Apart from breaking set down for parts these look like they’d be better for City/Amusement Park builds than Pirates. -
Mixing-up large parts collection (new/used, diff era)
Pirate_King_1982 replied to principalbricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I’m in a similar position except with clone/aftermarket bricks and LEGO bricks. I’m les worried about mixing things up because they’re easier to tell apart, but typically my MOCs, both mine and those I buy from Rebrickable I use clone bricks for, and official sets remain intact. There are exceptions like ship hulls, printed pieces and other piece’s unavailable from Webrick are LEGO as well. -
I’m going to be buying a copy of Barracuda Bay second hand but NIB for $100AUD more than it originally cost. Just wondering whether anyone could tell me the current quality of the reddish brown specifically, but also other colours now days? I’m going to open the box and assemble it as it would be a shame not to display a set I instantly fell in love with, even though I missed out on buying, just wondering if I need to take any special care building, displaying and maintaining it.

Wow what a great concept. Simple yet really, really characterful in their execution. Kudos.

Long time lurker finally posting and introducing myself.
Pirate_King_1982 posted a topic in Hello! My name is...
Hi all I joined the forum sometime ago and have been lurking, but thought I’d start posting. I’ve belonged to forums for my other hobby, Warhammer 40,000, for many years so have a good sense of how forums work and I tend to practice good etiquette and manors in most aspects of life so hopefully I shouldn’t find it to hard fitting in. I’m returning to one of my earliest loves in life, LEGO, and now call myself a AFOL. From a very early age I was introduced to LEGO starting with DUPLO, then the tow/city theme and later Pirates and Castle themes. My first really big LEGO set was the Caribbean Clipper, which was released as the Sea Hawk here in Australia, but also had various other Pirate and Castle sets including Eldorado Fortress, Renegade Runner and Lagoon Lockup. Anyway as you can probably tell from my intro so far and my forum name Pirates are my main jam, but I also like medieval themed stuff. I’ve purchased various plans for MOCs from Rebrickable and will be be posting the finished pieces her on the forum, with full credit given to the original creators of course, and plan on starting with Sleepless Night’s rendition of Sabre Island. Anyway I’ve said enough for the time being, I look forward to getting to know some of you, and being part of what appears to be a wonderfull community of like minded people. Bye for now. -
General MOC-Discussion, WIP-Help, and Teaser Thread
Pirate_King_1982 replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in Pirate MOCs
Hi all, how has your week been. I’ve been struck by an idea for a MOC/MOD of the 3in1 Creator ship. I’m wanting to use the parts from the 3in1 ship along with a couple of VIP add on packs I’m going to purchase from eBay and the pre-fab hull pieces from the OG ‘93 Imperial Flagship/HMS Sea Lion to create a small pirate galleon. I know that the hull pieces are a little narrower than the 3in1 ship so it’ll take a little fiddling around to get it right, but I’m up for the challenge. My main concern and the reason I making this post is to see if anybody knows how different in colour the pre-fab hull pieces are from the reddish brown that the 3in1 ship are. It shouldn’t matter too much I suppose though. Also does anybody have any general advice going forward? Has anybody done anything similar to what I have planned?- 281 replies

What's the weirdest thing you've found amongst used bulk bought Lego?
Pirate_King_1982 replied to Killian's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I haven’t found anything too gross or unusual yet. But having said that I’ve probably just jinxed myself and I’ll end up finding something really gross like a bag of toe nail clippings. -
Also I think it’s worth pointing out that the rowboat will now be available in white thanks to the ne LEGO Ideas lighthouse.

Hi all, just wondering if anybody has used these guys https://www.okbrickworks.com/ and if you have whether you could share your experience with them,. How do rate the quality of there product? How do you do you rate there customer service. I’m going to probably going to get my custom sails for Red Beard Runner by curtydc on from Rebrickable but I thought I would see how others have found them to be first. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer me. -
cool thanks for your reply. I’ll look into those books you mentioned.

Has the LEGO.com Pick A Brick section been removed?
Pirate_King_1982 posted a topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hi all just went to the LEGO.com website and it appears that the Pick A Brick service and also buy replacement bricks are no longer up and running. I’m wondering if anybody knows whether they’ve ceased running these two services permanently or whether it’ll be back up and running again. With my other hobby, Warhammer 40,000, sometimes stock items are removed but eventually find their way back again. Is the removal of Pick A Brick and the buy replacement bricks service something temporary? Has it hdissapeared and returned in the past? -
Emerging from a 5 year dark age, what's new? Some mocs too
Pirate_King_1982 replied to Ferret-'s topic in General LEGO Discussion
I’m a recent AFOL (well new in the sense that I’ve returned to building and collecting only just recently even though I’ve always had fond memories of LEGO and quite frequently would take a detour down the LEGO aisle of the department store) so aren’t really all that caught up on things myself, but I thought I would comment on how great your MOCs look. Kudos on the great work.
