  1. I don't really follow this theme beyond checking out the new sets when they're revealed, but I gotta say that the new castle is insanely cool. Probably a little too outside my price range but it really is such an interesting idea that I don't think Lego has really done before?
  2. Worst PPP ever Funny typo aside though thanks for the list, I'd forgotten that this wave does seem pretty interesting. I'm still not too hot on the lack of more affordable sets though. I get that they already have a ton on shelves from earlier this year, but it sucks that they're all for the first wave because it means getting a decent amount of the new generic baddies is going to be pretty expensive.
  3. The Sith Infiltrator looks a bit weird to me, but I guess it's alright given the scale they were going for. Price is definitely not there but I suppose it's more or less on par with what we're used to, with a discount it'll be fine. The Mando set is cool but again, not really worth the price at all. I could see myself getting it eventually but probably not unless I see it on sale, since Beq and the Grogu's pram are the only parts I really care about (and the latter I could build on my own if I really wanted).
  4. The set looks great, expensive but you get what you pay for I'd say. Probably won't get it because of the price but the fact that we are getting Lego D&D at all is awesome.
  5. Oh wow the new Jay looks really neat. I have to wonder if this is more of just a one-off thing or if all the ninjas will get unique variants with some consistency going forward. I suppose that was already a thing they did for some waves though, so maybe not? Edit: Actually looking at the minifigure lists for this upcoming wave again, it looks like we're getting an exclusive Cole and possible Kai too in this wave, so perhaps this is just going to be the new normal. Interesting that there isn't a tournament Jay though.
  6. I haven't seen the show but I'm glad I'm not the only one who got that vibe with Sora. Probably not specifically what they were but I appreciate it nonetheless. As far as the summer stuff goes, at this point I'm just taking a wait-and-see approach. The summer leaks have been pretty weird this year (just look at what's going on with Star Wars and the leakers going silent), so I feel like it just makes more sense to give it some time. We should probably know more pretty soon anyway, the official reveals can't be more than two months away and we'll probably get something more concrete before that.
  7. Why does the battle pack come with a minifigure of Luke's Landspeeder On the subject of when we're getting the next OT Falcon, I think I'm inclined to agree with the sentiment that the Dark Falcon won't stick around too long. Unless it ends up looking mostly the same as the original, my guess is 2026 for the next one; two years will give the Dark Falcon time to sell, but it won't overstay its welcome. I do have to wonder how successful the Dark Falcon will even be though. I don't mean to be a pessimist, but this totally seems like the kind of set that could end up selling terribly since it's so weird and then end up getting discounted to levels rarely seen for Star Wars. I kinda hope it does decently since some more out of left field stuff would be cool, although perhaps not occupying one of the largest price points next time.

Really weird that the only two sets listed are probably both not regular system scale sets? The names at least make both just sound like they'd be buildable figures/statues which is pretty weird considering Fortnite has such a large amount of kids playing it, who I'd think would probably be more into regular sets.
  9. I know this is just what you'd prefer not necessarily what you expect, but I wouldn't be too broken up over Mon Mothma or Dedra Meero since they both have some reasonable chances to appear in the future (although I guess for Dedra it depends how many Andor sets we get and how relevant she is in later seasons).
  10. The main standouts here for me are the Dojo and Temple. I already mentioned liking the temple before but the Dojo is excellent, the minifigure selection is great and the build itself just looks really large and imposing which is cool. I feel like it's been a while since we got a non-D2C Ninjago structure that felt this big? The Buggy and Mech are not bad but seem really expensive, especially the former. I like Riyu though, definitely could see myself impulse buying that one eventually.
  11. Wow that looks beautiful. Might have to wait for a discount given the leaked price, but it's definitely my favorite Ninjago set of 2024 so far.
  12. The Tantive IV set looks great, definitely will be getting it at some point. Maybe this is a bit sad but I'm honestly really excited by how many minifigures come in it, I'm so used to $100+ sets with 3-4 minifigures
  13. Oh that is really cheap, I could totally see myself impulse buying it at some point. I'm glad Ninjago seems to be leaning back into those sorts of sets a little more, expensive sets are great too but having a lot of cheaper ones on shelves is good for kids and people like me who don't have a ton to spend on Lego.

Oh good point, I wasn't really thinking about that with Star Wars vs Marvel. I do wonder if it's the same here though, since of course Disney is a lot bigger and presumably has more negotiating power when they figure out how much money they and Lego are getting. I could definitely see that being the case though, especially cause there just aren't a ton of other obvious answers as to why it took so long for them to do anything based on Zelda. On the topic of Lego Nintendo, I have to wonder how likely it is that we might see other Nintendo series adapted into Lego. Animal Crossing and Zelda happening in 2024 kind of seems like it could be the opening of the floodgates on that, but I guess the biggest problem is that a lot of Nintendo franchises might just be too obscure to make Lego sets of? Like Splatoon seems possible, but when you get to more niche series like Pikmin, Fire Emblem, and Xenoblade (which only sell in the range of 1 to 5 million copies, as opposed to recent Mario, Zelda, and Animal Crossing games breaking 30 million copies), I'm not sure there's enough of a market. I guess the success of the upcoming sets will probably indicate to Lego if they want to branch out into other series though, and of course Nintendo might want to have Lego make sets of their more niche games as a kind of marketing/brand awareness thing.
  15. I feel like Riyu is a bit ugly, but once we get some more angles I suspect it'll look nicer. Not sure if I'll get that one, maybe though since I think it's supposed to be kinda cheap?
